Grow up. This is Illinois. Not Mississippi. The Republican Party here is the country club party. The ILGOP supports abortion, because they don't want all of the undesirable black and hispanic children from the inner-city gaining any more power.
I am part of the country clubness being from the North Shore, but I have always stated my opposition to the corporate welfare, pro-abortion mentality that is pervasive in the ILGOP. Most of it unfortunately comes from my area.
I wish you stated your opposition in your voting. Supporting and pushing for candidates like Mark Kirk and Topinka do nothing to curb the country club from repenting of their ways and actually encourages more of the same.
I strongly supported a candidate like Jack Ryan and look what happened. We tend not to get national GOP support unless we nominate one of the country clubers.
@JohnRhysMusician No the republican party is not the "country club party." The head of the GOP in Illinois is Tom Cross. He came from a middle class family. His father was a Methodist minister. I'd hardly consider that to be of the "country club" class. You have your facts wrong. The Democratic party of Illinois is the elite, wealthy, well-connected, country club set.
@magdamagda999 I agree in part, but being from the North Shore, which is fairly moderate, with Republican pockets. Almost all of the Republicans are pro-abortion, pro-gay, etc. That is country-club Republican. We produced Andy McKenna, Jack Ryan, Mark Kirk.
@weneedmccain Unfortunately that is the way it is. Wealthier folks tend to be more socially liberal on the North Shore, so those are the kind of candidates they vote for.
@magdamagda999 Tom Cross is one of the worst examples of a Republican out there. He's cozy with the Democrats, has voted for over 300 tax increases, and takes money from the IEA. This man has no ideology nor allegiances, he's all about power and money. He's a Madigan wanna-be and needs to be removed as much as Madigan does.
Many people don't know about, nor care about the moral issues involved in our government. The average person is more concerned about their own comfort than about the moral issues in our country government. However, if they were to look at history and when people abandon God for their own comfort, they always ended up worse off. This is a good job of letting people know what the media refuses to include -- that is that when our morals fail because of imagined immediate gratification, we lose.
I know for a lot of you it is hard to vote your guy out of office. But until that is done, nothing will change. By voting them out, it will send a message to the new guy that his or her days will be numbered if they follow the same pattern. Have the courage to do it next year. It's for you!!
Excellent edit work. Props for the quick turnaround too. Great event. I think the cardboard cutouts had a bit more going on than the folks that were hiding from us this month. At least none of them cost us trillions of dollars.
Talk about the reality of the situation. Funny, but true. Fantastic.

Yep, that's why I fight the GOP Country Clubbers so much. They do not represent most of the folks, they represent themselves.

Excellent use of props. Love the cardboard cutouts.
Lot of passion here and it comes across as being very genuine.

Actually, given that McCain is now backing Kirk, I think you need to change your screen name; "weneedpalin" has a nice ring.
MaskedMan66 2 years ago
You are absolutely correct. I'm kind of stuck with the screen name though.
Even during the election, I wasn't a big fan of McCain, but he was the only viable candidate that had a chance to beat Obama.

I had a chance to ask the real Senator Durbin a question on Chicago Tonight.
He was no more forthcoming than he was at this townhall meeting.

I have yet to hear anything from Mitch McConnell about any of this mess in Washington but pandering to the company of thieves.
I think the whole lot needs put on the chopping block.
