  • Best cat videos online haha.. who would click on that?

  • NTD is biased chinese media disguised with a foreign white lady anchorwoman.

  • pauvre baleine ostie

  • I hit a deer with my car once...Does that count?

  • @gravylegs1

NONE of the Whales should be hunted because they aren't being replenished by man. Especially the very endangered humpbacks! Deer and elk are harmful to man on land, Whales are not. Deer overpopulate and overgraze. Whales are in the oceans. Blackbears and coyote are on land (where we are). The Sea Shepherds also have the RIGHT to protest in any way they wish. Anyhow, things like deer and bears and coyotes are damaging land environment. Whales are perfectly inoffensive

  • @info145 You have a point. Besides I doubt I will be hitting a whale at a car. That would suck

  • OK, so people will not ever stop eating animals, but there are guidelines that should be followed:

    1) Don't kill animals whose subsistence is in question.

    2) Kill quickly and humanely.

    3) Replenish.

    4) Respect an animal's sanctuary!

The poachers ignore all of these basic common sense points of logic and human decency

  • @info145 Well said

  • This is the new way Japan will start whaling. They'll take out a cruise ship an impale a whale on the bow and say it was an accident.

  • poor thing, just an accident that was nobodys fault :(

  • Is this how the Japs are catching their whales now?

  • And on the return leg of the cruise, bottomless sushi buffet on the pool deck!

  • @Pringles352 are you dumb? it obviously costs to run a company. they obviously cant work for free forever can they. the adds help then cover fuel costs and pay any staff they might have. herrp derrp.

  • engines full ahead

  • LOOOOL they sure killed it alright

  • i used to like madness, that ad is changing all that

  • Do you need a fishing license for that?

  • lol they had to tie roes around it. they could just put it in reverse why??? i mean if they have enough room to go in they can back up a lil

  • @fatboy1408 its a cruise ship, they CANNOT operate near horbour by them selfs, not even backing a couple of meters. they need tugboats all the time, even to back up a bit. thats the disadvantage of having a big ship..

  • @razgriz786 actually most cruise ships thest days have azipods and bow thrusters, so they dont need tugs.

they can turn on a dime.

  • @oldvat19 true but i think its like a rule now, that u have to have tug boats as a precaution..

  • @razgriz786 it depends on the port. some ports let ships come alongside without the assistance of tugs if they are capable, others like to have extra safety measures, if it just means having the tug there at standby. even large ships with the poor manoeuvrability can come alongside on their own in proper conditions.

you'd actually be pretty surprised what a ship can do with just her anchor, a propeller and a rudder.

  • @oldvat19 i see, well thanks for correcting me! =)

  • not a case of hit and run then

  • @jjasonell loooool

  • That happens when tourist-ships goes much too close into whale-familys.

  • sorry thumbs down due to advertisments

  • @crazyknight2008 Sorry about this inconvenience, we are a non-profit news organization, these ads are actually supporting us to continue our work.

  • @NTDTV lol it doesnt cost to put a video up. these ads give you profit, of some kind

  • @crazyknight2008 Like it or not, ads are needed to keep these services free to you. Imagine YouTube not having ads, but instead requiring you to pay $10 a month to use their website.. That wouldn't fly well with most people.. Servers aren't free, people to run them aren't free, etc etc, it's just something you have to deal with. I have a website and honestly without tactfully placed ads i couldn't afford the upkeep to keep the site going, not to mention any kind of future expansion or upgrades.

  • she's a great lookin girl.

  • god gives god takes

  • yikes

  • haaaaaa

  • :( poor whale

  • lol

  • :-(

  • This is fake, Whales don't exist!

  • skip commercials 0:01

  • wat kind of whale?

  • The ship has arrived with an "extra passenger" what a sick joke....Whoever made that one up has problems

  • @bronzelips1993 how are that person sick? You must have deep problems in your life if that offended you.

( 3 months old comment i know, but this is the internet... its allowed)

  • omg that is so friggen sad =(

  • too bad they didn't spear any giant onions and bell peppers, they could have had whale kabobs

  • i was on this Alaska cruse

  • top story?

  • aww poor whale

  • awww

  • Give it to the Japs. Rotted or not, they'll eat it

  • No Jap cap has any navigational skill

  • it got a free trip with luxury ship! oh wait it died... if there is any whale-nuts in here i was paid $10 by NTDTV to say this.

  • that is sad

  • We are looking into an all inclusive for early next year. I got some decent info from cruisesforthefamily (.) com

  • YOU GOT SERVED !

  • EEK, that was my cousin! NOT

  • Why does the title say Bears on Ice?

  • and that kids, is why we don't play chicken with a cruise ship :D

  • just like a bug on a windshield exept its the ocean lol

  • Could have towed it off with the sea shepard

  • @UnderMan2020 whale fail LOLZ

  • Oh great, now the story ended up on youtube. Told tell the Japanese, they will be going to arctic waters next with passenger ships and just play "bumperboats" with the whales, and say,

"Oh he mustve died on impact, such a terrible accident, better not waste it. MEAT AND BLUBBER ON THE MENU TONIGHT BOYS ! ! !" for research only though... cough

  • calling Whale Wars......

  • The Whale had the "Right of Way"

  • Imagine that, you are justing swimming around and then WABAM! you get ran over by a cruise ship.

  • Yayyyyy for Hawaii!!!!

    Thank you Kauai!!!

-for blockading the harbor with people in the water, so the Superferry could not dock... You guys kept it from ever being allowed to dock, there.

    you're awesome!!!

Superferry was ousted from Hawaii, saving many whales from this! ; )

  • that's depressing.

  • Take a pill and I'm sure you'll get over this one in time.

  • too bad I'm on probation for a dui.

  • :( whale is dead!!! that dimmed my day

  • Jesus.

  • The ship acctually has a displacement of 115,875 tons.

  • It's size is 115,875 gross tons.

  • Yeah.

If the ship was a square box, its displacement would be, according to the main dimensions given in various sources, around 88 000 metric tons. However, taking into account the not-that-boxy shape of the hull the real displacement is probably less than 50 000 metric tons.

  • Don't tell Sea Shepard they will be ramming cruise ships next.

  • they might

  • Yea don't tell those psychotics that information.

  • @mudsniper If i had the sea shepard, whaler boats would be sank.. Then i would harponed the dirty japs in the water for "Research" and fed them to my dog. :)

  • @mudsniper LOL!

  • @mudsniper best comment ever

  • @mudsniper yup lol

  • @mudsniper what does that mean? what is sea shepard? sorry but i dont understand

  • Gibbo Mkaes Me Anrgy!

  • I was on that ship and let me tell you that the passengers on the ship didn't feel a thing. a 70 ton whale against a 100,000 ton ship must be like a bug hitting the windshield of a car.

  • It still would have some distortion on the boat!

  • The ship does not weigh 100,000+ tons. It is probably somewhere between 65 and 75,000 tons. But I know what you mean. The crew probably didn't know it was there until the pilot told them.

  • If you google "weight of Sapphire Princess" you will find that it weighs 113,000 tons.

  • That is a common "landlubber" mistake. Passenger ship tonnage, or gross registered tons (inaccurately abbreviated as "ton"), is not a measurement of weight, but a measurement of interior space equal to 100 cubic feet. So a 113,000-ton ship has that much cubic feet of habitable interior space. It is used to determine the size of a ship, rankings, and port fees. It's "displacement" would be its weight, but only military vessels use that.

  • I think we can all agree it has more than enough tonnage to kill a whale without noticing.

  • @g1a1r1y3 geek!!

  • @WagglyApples Pretty clever coming from some pussy-assed bitch like you. Stop masturbating, get a girl (or guy), get a job, read a book, and make some friends- if you can.

  • @g1a1r1y3 wowow i was just joking. u hurt my feelings :(

  • i was on the princess the week before but some people are saying it was either traveling alone and the radar didnt pick it up or it was already dead and just floating when i was on the boat and we passed the whales they were going alot faster than the boat so my guess it was already dead

  • You will not pick up a subsurface contact like a whale with radar.

  • if they are in a pack you can thats what im saying it was either stupid, it was alone, or it was already dead

  • that whale should have got out of the way. what a dumb ass whale.

  • this story reminded me of hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, when the whale is falling out of the sky and hits the ground. this whale was swimming along and then BAM. no more flowers.

  • Gibbo Mkaes Me Angry!

  • owned like a deer get hit by a truck this is classic pppooonnnnnaaaagggeeeee

  • the wales have no defence against humans japaneese whalers are killing them off like flies so a ship hitting a whale is the least of our worries we must o more to help the sea shepard save the whales from senceless killing the cruse ship hitting the whale was a unfortunite event that doesnot happen often stop the real killers at sea the jappanesse nissue marrow must sink to the bottom of the ocean.

  • the sea shepards are gay. They cause more harm then good. The Japanese have to eat to you know. Its a job, its like logging. A person cuts a tree down to feed their familys, then some green tree lover puts a nail in a tree, kills the loger. I see no problem with the Jap's kill whales.

  • wow are you serious...trees are not endangered and wood is one of the most necessary resources...whales on the other hand are endangered and not necessary for anything people do, im sure japanese people can survive perfectly fine without eating whales

  • The crew knew of the whale for 2 days prior to arriving in Vancouver. They are just trying to save face.

  • Ship: 1

    Whale: -1000

It's like hitting a rabbit with a car, it happens.

  • what a stupid whale

  • Some people don't think before they leave a rude or uninformed comment. Seagoers care deeply about SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea). I wouldn't jump to a conclusion until all of the facts are known.

  • tezen blauwe vin vis heeft flinke map gehad van Sapphire Princess 0:35

  • they should reduce the number of vessels going around and that would not happen....

  • murderers, they tortured the poor whale.

  • Gibbo makes me sooo ANGRY!

  • Gibbo make me sooo Angry!

  • Gibbo mkaes me soooo ANGRY!

  • I hate it when people refer to a ship as a 'boat'....try learning the Queen's English you ignoramus

  • RIP whale :(

  • omg, thats sad! (TT^TT)

  • that's sad.

  • This is a very rare case.
