I'm trying to make a tank right now (not advanced, just your typical tank) in 5.28 but everytime I try to make the top, it never sticks right. I got the tracks down so I'm good there.

the older versions of phun (like 4.22 what i use) work much better if you want to make a gun or some tank and stuff like that

A tank needs weight and friction on the tracks for stability and suspension is added for a smoother ride.

At the end of the video it shows how the suspension is constructed.

You can't. I just made it fire a single shell just for the video. Get the MkIII tank, it does shoot. (like I already said just 3 comments down!)

You have to select the object(s) you want to edit then right click it and there will appear a menu where you can set collision options and many other things.

The main difference is that v3.5 now allows multiple collision layers, which are very useful for making complex machines. You can download the latest version from the phun website, mentioned in de video comment.

how do you fire?

In this scene, u can't. I have removed the round from the barrel because there is no target to shoot. But, you could add a target and a round yourself. Select the barrel and move it to the back. Then draw a circle to fit inside the barrel. Drag the piston so it is tensioned, fixate it and put the circle in front of it. Now you can fire by removing the fixation.

The barrel is hollow, it contains a piston, 2 tensioned springs and a single round (ball). The round is fixed to the barrel so it stays in position. Remove the fixation to shoot.

It is even possible to make it shoot more rounds but I made the design with one round in mind. The whole shooting mechanism fits inside the barrel now.
