  • I've been doing P90X for 9 months Straight and I can't stress how important it is to NOT skip the X stretch on the 7th day! It makes a huge difference with your gains.....

  • sorry. muscle confusion is not a revolutionary "new" way to workout. Muscle confusion has been used in conjunction with martial arts training for thousands of years. prime example. shaolin martial monks.

  • I work out in a gym now. I have also researched P90X. I am liking what i see from the videos. Body weight exercises are better for you than heavy lifting. Heavy lifting will actiallu damage joints and tendons.

    I am going to purchase P90X and see. I am in shape now but can't get over a plateau no matter what different things I try. I believe P90X is the answer and will make me healthier in the long run.

  • SeanKnowles...I imagine CGirl52 the gal in the video is Beachbody Coach. You should consider buying the program for her since her video (and others) are proof of how amazing this program is...I'm currently on day 73 of P90X and the difference it's made in my body is unbelievable.

  • They are truly committed and dedicated hard workers, and like everyone else who is carrying a fit and healthy lifestyle they are doing what they love, It all comes down to getting fit and healthy and doing it so that the barriers that cause people to quit!....and really isnt this all that matters?

  • In regards to the latest debate on here, I just want to add, that people who workout at home doing P90X are what I call barrier-breakers. They are the epitome of "talking the talk, and walking the walk." They need no supervising, and they are masters at motivating themselves! They face their fears which gives the the confidence to feel better and become more fit to challenge themselves beyond their comfort level.

  • I just got the P90X. How long is it before 1. The muscle pain goes away and 2. before you really start to notice a difference?

  • 1. muscle pain is always natural when first starting a workout, most or all of the pain should be gone after a few days, just tough it out and dont skip any workout days. to help recovery you should take a whey protein powder after your workouts.

    2. this will all depend on your starting physique and commitment to the program, giving it your all and more EVERY.DAY. You will also need to follow the diet! If you do all that for 30 days youll notice a difference. days 60 and 90 will be even more

  • You will experience some muscle soreness after each recovery week, but usually feel stronger without the muscle onset soreness @ 3 weeks in.....of course until you change it up again with each new phase. I felt the effects right away but the visual changes happened moreso, for me, at the end of Phase 2!

  • some leaping excercises I don't have enough room for in my living room. But 80% of it you could do in a bathroom sized room. (you may just hit the walls a few times)

  • I also encourage other people to join this "debate". What do you think. Is P90X for those "too lazy or stupid" to "conduct research" as Raurk712 states. Or is it a useful tool that allows you to improve your health without having to leave your home.

  • What did I do to offend you? Why are you criticizing my spelling? Why are you assuming I havn't gone to college and why do you assume I have 13 inch arms? I stated my opinion clearly and fairly. I did NOT attack you personally. You seem to hold a grudge against P90x and decided to put it on my shoulders.

  • There are plenty weight excercises in P90x where you can choose to use a higher weight. Quite often they tell you to ue the weight that is "right for you". Dependant on wether you want to lose weight or build muscle.

    There are sooo many reasons why P90x is the bettert choice for people. How many people have gone to gyms and found they dont like the cost, wait times, commute, crowds, attitudes, and then the lack of direction without guidance. How many of those then gave up.

  • Go to a natural bodybuilding website and you will also see results there. I just don't want others to think that this is the only and best way for them.Everyone is different and perhaps another workout regimen will work best for them. I also don't eat jelly donuts. I eat chicken, brown rice, fish and protein shakes.  I have added 30 pounds of muscle over 3 years.Maybe you should open your mind to different possibilities of getting in shape, cuz perhaps other people have valuable insight as well.

  • Muscle confusion is not revolutionary. Bodybuilders since the 1930's have known to change their workout routines to get the best results. Watch any bodybuilder video and you will not see them doing the same weight, reps, lift or order as before. Tony Horton is only taking what the bodybuilding community has known for a half a century and pawning it off as his own.

  • Dayum, you must be so jealous to be on here talkin smack. P90x is the Jeet Kun Do of workouts. It is the best of the best put into one artform. Enjoy that jelly donut and let the p90xers do the workin out.

  • He's not "pawning it off as his own" and he's not a body builder. He's just making it accessible to the average person who doesn't have the knowledge, time, or money to engineer their own personal workout routine.

  • Exactly. For all the knowledge that exists about bodybuilding, that community has done little to make it accessible to the average person who can't go to the gym and knows very little about fitness.

    P90X makes a high level of fitness convenient and obtainable by the average person who has little interest in becoming a bodybuilder but, would like to be in really great shape. Frankly, if it works, why look elsewhere?

  • When a concept has been around for 50 + years you can't call it revolutionary. That would be like making a television set and saying you made this revolutionary product. And I never said he was a bodybuilder, I meant that if losing fat is your goal then bodybuilders have routines that are very easy to access and implement in your life. They will also help you get leaner. You are absolutely right in that he is making it accessible for most people and for that he should be applauded.

  • i bought p90x and i'm wating for it in the mail but im really dreading the yoga more than anything else beause its really hard. i tried yoga a few times and it is literally torture for me

  • hehehe, 2 days ago, i did plyometrics, couldn't finish it. i was ashamed of myself. i stopped at 30 minutes huffing and puffing. toward the end of the 30 minutes, ever exercise was a pause and huffing and puffing.

    yoga was hard but no where near plyometrics.

  • don't feel bad, I can only do about 30 minutes of the plyo. too. i'm only in my 2nd week, it does get easier as you go.

  • hey do you know if the "classic" scheudle work out is suppose to be every sing day? no breaks in between. (i just started) So by the end of 3 weeks you are suppose to do all those exercises 3 times over? sounds a bit much for me- but thats what im doing for the first week so far.

  • P90x have some people hating it. Sayin u can just work out, eat right foods, and run everyday. This is diferent and it motivates you. I can't work out for long alone. but if i watch a video dat i like then i can workout till im done, and I'll know im done. and this'll do it in 90days. People workut EVERYDAY but dont get these kind of results. I think the ones that are mad are the ones at the gym, losing to people at Home, that life weights as little as 3x a week.lol

  • on most of your exercises you start off with a nice rhythm but then you go too fast to finish them off. try and keep the same rhythm throughout the exercise. and why do you do pushups on the floor then on the walls? that doesn't make much sense.

  • wtf is so new about this shit? for gods sake people get a set of weights a bench a treadmill or just run outside for 30mins for cardio, eat properly and thats it!! y the fuk would u order some p90x bullshit... keep it old skool get weights and run ur arse off.

  • This is only a snippit of a cazillion workouts.....it's all good and I have done these along with many more of Tony's workouts and haven't gotten bored yet.....to each's own I guess.

    This program does utilizes weights, a pull up bar and your own body's resistance. Enough cardio mix up for people who don't own a treadmill or who have to deal with the elements -- people just keep doing what works for them!

  • I've done both....but my preference is to start with lean and merge into classic in the same round.

  • I like to start with Lean and then ease into Classic....right now, phase 1, doing Core and Intervals X+ in place of C/B and Plyo....

  • Well, actually P90X is old school. It is lots of weight lifting, pushups and pullups, along with Kenpo, Yoga and general cardiovascular. The new part is how it is organized throughout the phases. By and far the best workout program I have tried. Oh, I forgot the plyometrics, which is probably the most challenging for me.

    Great workout.

  • Great video, very inspiring. Hey how much weight are you using? Im unsure how much not to use so i dont bulk up even though i still feel like i am in order to get the workout.

  • Tony always says: 8-10 reps to bulk up, 12-15 reps to tone

  • Don't want to oversimplify it, but that's the general rule.

    Also, do 4-7 reps to increase strength.
