another fix for the batteries: I went in with needlenose pliers and stretched the bottom battery springs up a significant amount. still in day one of testing that method but so far it feels a lot sturdier.
it's not totally invincible now but it's pretty rare that something goes wrong. and now that i know it can fail, anytime i bump it significant;y or drop it (which i do frequently), i wait to see if the multiblink happens to make sure it's still running.
great! I had a feeling the random cessations of video recording was caused by the batteries and/or usb drive inside ratting around when I walked with it, so those are great ideas for the interior and I'm glad you addressed that. I assume you've had no more problems with the video stopping and starting as of your brass and foam additions? those seemed to fix the problem?
