@eternityandforever "Jehovah's Witnesses are the only ones teaching God's name" that is a Lie! There are many bible based groups world wide that teach God's name is: Jehovah, the King James Bible is used by many churches, King James bible says; "Jehovah art the most high"-PS 83:18
(cont) .....(Philippians 3:20) in the verse before that it claims that some glory in their shame with their mind set on earthly things." Its not the religion that you should be, its Jesus that you should know. Phillipians 3:7 ...I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.
Man in the Gray suit and all who attended this funeral, my prayers go out to you for your Grandma. The ladies (JW's) who left were shooting the messenger when they should have heard the message of God's Word. (Luke 17:21) Also going to heaven or remaining on the earth is the choice that Jesus makes not the choice of belonging to a religion. The apostle Paul said it this way. "But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ'.....
I see nothing wrong whatsoever what the man in the Grey suit said. The Bible says, "God does NOT dwell in man made buildings" and it is true, the love of God and the kingdom is in your heart. No building of brick and stones can replace what is really in your heart. Thousands of Jehovah's Witnesses have been disfellowshipped while dwelling and yearly attending buildings composed of lumber and brick. The kingdom has to be in your HEART.
My mother has been a faithful witness since the late 1960's. Although baptized, I left based on my own disbelief. It has caused problems between us, however, now that she is in the process of leaving this earth, my sister and I will make sure that her services are conducted as she has requested. It will be a Jehovah's Witness funeral, even though I am happily an outspoken apostate. It is possible to be respectful.
The New York Times: "The cases of convicted child rapists [in Jehovah's Witnesses] is far different than in the Catholic church, where most of the people accused of abuse are priests and victims were boys and young men. In the Jehovah's Witnesses, where congregations are often collections of extended families, some of those accused are elders, but most are congregation members. The victims who have stepped forward are girls and young women, and many accusations involve incest
Oh and here's a no brainer-- why not have the funeral...IN A FUNERAL HOME SO EVERYBODY IS WELCOME??!!??!! That's how we do our funerals so there are no issues& it's neutral. Sheesh this fam had problems
This has nothing to do w/ religion this family has issues. Half of my family are jw's half aren't. My grandmother had jw beliefs & when she passed away the brothers gave a talk at her funeral & ALL my family were there respectful & doing what we were supposed to be doing-mourning our matrioch who passed. My brother is disfellowshipped. He didnt jump on stage & start ranting on & on about the kingdom hall. I didn't have a camcorder recording the funeral that's our FAMILY PERSONAL TIME. So sad
my mother was a Jehovah's witness when she passed away the rest of the family wasn't but we loved her so much and would never disrespect that religion even though we didn't practice the religion we granted my mothers wishes and had a Jehovah's witness funeral service! it was a little boring but thats what she wanted! 300+jehovah's witnesses attended and they even had a nice lunch set up for us! i appreciate everything the jehovah's witnesses has done for my family they still visit my father!
There aren't enough earthly concerns to occupy us when someone dies, money, past grievences, tresspasses that didn't get forgiven, that we have have to quarrel sectarianism, too, I suppose. Then again, isn't that just another earthly concern?
The young man speaking at the 2:20 is a smart person. All respects to him and his family, he kept a cool head. As a former JW, I'm sorry for how those JW's walked out at the end.
Keep in mind wheater you are religious or not, Jesus did say: "Do you suppose that I came to give peace on earth? I tell you, not at all, but rather division. For from now on five in one house will be divided: three against two, and two against three. 53 Father will be divided against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law" [Luke 12:51-53]
@supa5th I haven't made ANY contact with my family since July because everybody has come to the conclusion that they don't want me to continue being involved in their life, due to fear that I'll, "Spread my atheism towards the young ones." I respect EVERYBODY'S form of (or lack of) faith!
I'm very thankful that my mother and father still love me, but am still pissed that they constantly try to convince my parents to do the same thing they did.
Yes ! If Christ is in your heart, so is the Kingdom. Every body has the God given right to become Gods anointed Thus says the Word. The young gentleman was right! He only spoke the truth. In walking out like that, where was the love? Where was the respect? Why is it necessary to Shun your family because they don't belong or believe in your religion. Bless this young man for telling the truth The Scriptures say if I have not love even if I speak in the tongues of angels I am nothing. Shalom.

You not understanding has nothing to do with being white.
The woman who died is a Jehovah's Witness but not everyone in her family is. The family decided to have the funeral in a church where everyone would be welcome as opposed to the Kingdom Hall where only family members who shared her beliefs would be. Because their sect doesn't welcome outsiders some of the JW's came to the, wrong, conclusion that they weren't welcome. The family is telling them otherwise in this video.
Lord i dont care if ur Christian, muslim, jehovah witness, tht should not have wnt on. and i agree wit the young man, the chruch is within urself even tho i go to church. the kingdom hall is jus a building the church is jus the building. u have to believe God in ur heart and the building is where u get fed/fellowship, God said hide the word of God in ur heart so u may not sin against it. but tht was truly disrespectful for them OLDER ladies to leave like tht at a funeral, u should b ashamed smh
There upset because he disrespected there place of worship...The Kingdom Hall. Calling it 'just a building' and he began preaching that God's kingdom is in the heart not a physical/real govenment as JWs believe.
Even the JW's believe that the governmental fellowship lies in the strength and numbers of it's members, I don't know that calling the KH just a building contradicts that. Regarless, I doubt the lady now passed is too worried about the physical for the time being.
Jesus had a style of speaking. If you study the New Testament, you'll see he said, "Truly I tell you" 78 times. Never in any of the other verses does he have to remind the person he is speaking to them currently. It is redundant. He never needed to make it clear to the listener that he was talking to them "today". So, the correct text is "Truly I tell you, today you will be in paradise with me."
This is so sad, I feel so bad for this family. They have been deceived and had a terrible situation made worse. The things taught by this cult is so destructive. The only hope they have is to be resurrected back into the same world again since they didnt make the 144000 cut off? Which tribe of Israel are they from? Never be cruel or even rude to a JW, just tell them the truth and give them a better hope and do it in love.
im still confused. the young man speaking seemed to be eloquent and tactful. apparently he is disfellowshiped? i don't know exactly why the ladies got up to leave, but apparently they felt unwelcomed. i didn't see them disrupt anything. perhaps she should not have said anything at all, but i could hear other people saying things under their breath. if 'grandma' was a witness, then the witnesses should have been more than welcome despite any bad blood between the family.
Mormons have some STRANGE beliefs, but unlike the Witnesses they are quick to show each other love! They MAKE family time to touch base and each other! Mormons cherish holidays because they KNOW holidays can bring families closer and that businesses make allowances for workers to be off duty during holidays!
While I agree that Jehovah IS God's name, I do because He introduced Himself to Moses as Jehovah in Exodus 6:3 of the King James Bible. I there is a lack of love with the witnesses!
"They will know you by the love you show to each other." Jesus Christ.
How is excessive divisiveness "showing each other love?" In this crazy, high paced, dog eat dog world, holidays give TIME for families to touch base and each other via hand shakes and hugs! Holidays give families TIME OUT to share a meal and memories, exchange gifts and good wishes!
It makes NO LOGICAL sense to proclaim all holidays "evil!" This organization also is NOT known to show deep, heart-felt love! continued...
@meltmyfacejesus the grandmother was a jw. Some of her fam are jw some aren't. someone spread a rumor that the jw weren't invited. The woman who got up there was a jw & daughter of the deceased, & was telling her mother's beliefs. Her grandson says his piece, but he's disfellowshipped (no longer a jw). they walked out b/c saying the kingdom hall is just bricks is like calling a church for baptists, temple for bhuddists, or a mosque for muslims "just bricks". It can be taken to be an insult.
@mashan1978 I believe that the insult to the JWs was two things, first, the man speaking was an ex member and the comment that you don't have to go to a Kingdom Hall, the Kingdom of God is in your heart (in you). Luke 17:21. If the JWs had of known the verse, they would not have been offended. Even if they did know it, it still offended them because they don't agree with this biblical verse.
@pretoshohmoofc PROOF:Jesus taught us to follow his example, study his every teaching=Matthew 28:20, John 17:3.TRUE DISCIPLES follow his example,teaching others and making disiples=Matthew 4:17, 5:5, 6:9,10,chapter 10,24:14,28:19,20. Jehovah's Witnesses are the only ones teaching God's name, making it known, and preaching GOD'S KINGDOM is coming! Acts 1;8, 5:42, 8:4, 13:21,49, 14:3,15,21, 20:20-25, Romans 10:10-17, John 3:16, 17:3. 1 Corinthians 2:10,16, 4:6 use the bible :D LIKE JW'S DO!!
@pretoshohmoofc my point is ITS A FUNERAL HAVE SOME RESPECT REGARDLESS OF WHO WHAT WHEN WHERE WHY. THIS FAMILY HAS ISSUES B/C IT WOULD NOT HAPPEN IN MINE.
Second Corinthians 5:6-8 makes it clear that the believer is ushered directly into the presence of God upon death. Paul argues that "to be absent from the body" is tantamount to being "present with the Lord."
Thank you for sharing this video. It gives a clear example of Watchtower Society bait and switch tactics (they're actually not allowed vs saying they're not welcome); their beliefs on death and resurrection, the final day; and the immediate retribution that a member faces once upsetting any of their strict rules. I hope this man is living a healthier life today.
The Bible says to be absent in body is to be present with the Lord. Your physical body rests. Your spirit goes to the father until the second coming of Christ when our bodies are caught up in the air and were given our glorified bodies.
@tehbobb08 The spirit is the breath of God (Gen 2:7, Job 27:3) that RETURNS to God upon death (Ecc. 12:7). Did you come from God? No. Man was made from the earth with the breath/spirit of God and became a living soul (1 Cor 15:45).
2 Corinthians 5:8 is in reference to the day of the coming of the LORD when we receive Heavenly/Immortal Bodies - that is being absent from our body and present with the LORD (1 Cor 15:50-58, 1 Thes 4:13-18).
@tehbobb08 You're proving my point. Ecc 12:7 says the spirit RETURNS to God who gave it. Therefore He is taking back the spirit (breath) upon death as it says when both Jesus and Stephen died: they both said "Father, I commit my spirit" and then "breathed their last."
Even the early Christian fathers taught this truth: Irenaus, Justin Martyr, Hippolytus, Tertullian ...
They were aware that the "spiritual" heaven/hades was nothing more than Greek Mythology.
@FAITHandLOGIC Then how do you explain Jesus telling the repentent thief that "today you will be with me in paradise? Scripture is emphatic about the fact that we go to be with God instantly after death. We are incomplete though. Until our mortal bodies are caught up and we are given our Glorified body. In Revelation 6:9-11, Martyrs are in heaven pleading with the father for justice. They would not be able to do that if they were not joined with God.
@tehbobb08 The translators decided to put a comma where it didn't belong. It should read: "I say to you today, you will be with me in paradise." This is common-speak in those days. Other examples are Deut 4:26, 39, 40, 5:1, 6:6, 7:11 and 30:18 as well as Acts 20:26.
As for Rev 6:9-11, that is referring to the Martyrs of the Roman Empire and it is not literal, it is symbolic of God's memory of their martyrdom.
@tehbobb08 It's the correct interpretation of Revelation. The reformers taught this. Please don't tell me you believe in that "Left Behind" Dispensationalism nonsense.
Answer me this. If you go to heaven/hell immediately upon death as a spirit then why does Jesus need to return and resurrect the dead?
@FAITHandLOGIC He is returning to call the believers that are alive to be with him. At that time, the dead mortal bodies (of those whose souls are already with the father) will be caught up as well, and all believers will then receive their Glorified bodies. The entire purpose of Christ's second coming is to join the church with himself. Other than the believers who are already with him in soul form.
@tehbobb08 That makes no sense for a few reasons. First. it's the spirit (breath) that returns to God upon death, not the soul. Ecc 12:7. Second, why would God take people out of the bliss of Heaven to be put down on earth? Third, why wouldn't God just wait for the people who are alive to die to be with Him in Heaven?
The promise is eternal life at the resurrection, not at death. The Bible is clear and consistent about this.
@FAITHandLOGIC You misunderstand me. Im not saying that he takes people out of heaven. Im saying that those people who die stay in heaven until we enter the millennial kingdom on the new earth. What im saying is that people who have already died will leave behind their earthly body until Christs second coming. and dont ask me why God wouldnt wait until men die so they could meet him in heaven. He has made it clear that his plan is to come again to join with the rest of the Church.
@FAITHandLOGIC The Bible says to be absent in body is to be present with the Lord. Your physical body rests. Your spirit goes to the father until the second coming of Christ when our bodies are caught up in the air and were given our glorified bodies.
@Brucev7 I already addressed this verse. Read it in context. Paul is referring to the time of the coming of Christ, not when you die. Think about ti. Who went to Heaven as a spirit in the Bible? No one! Jesus ascended, Enoch did not taste death, Elijah was taken up, even Paul had an experience when he was translated to the "3rd Heaven". The Kingdom is inherited with a translated body, not as a ghost. Pagans promised of a spiritual realm. Jesus promised a resurrection. Big Difference.
Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
Luke 23:46 46 And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said, “Father, ‘into Your hands I commit My spirit.’”[a] Having said this, He breathed His last.
@Brucev7 I already addressed Luke23:46 ... don't you people read my comments before you respond? The SPIRIT IS BREATH! The "spirit of God in my nostrils" Job 27:3.
As for Lk 23:43, there is NO PUNCTUATION in the original Greek. The comma was added only within the last 100 years by American translators.
How about this? Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you today, you will be with me in paradise.”
Changes the context, doesn't it? Learn the original language, then come talk to me.
@FAITHandLOGIC these are from the old testament before jesus defeated the grave, so you cant use those before jesus believers went to a place called abrahams bossom but now our souls go straight to heaven and our bodies stay behind but when Jesus comes back our bodies will rise and we will be reunited, we'll have a body like jesus has now siince he's been resurected, answer this where did jesus go after dying?, why did he rise?
cont'd Jesus sounded a similar theme when He told the thief on the cross "today you will be with Me in Paradise" (Luke 23:43). The paradise Jesus referred to is synonymous with heaven.
However, Scripture also teaches that the believer, while in the presence of the Lord, will not receive his glorified body until a later time. Upon death, our bodies go into the grave and await the second coming of Christ (1 Thess. 4:16), when He will raise and transform them (1 John 3:2).
cont'd 3--The apostle Paul speaks of the time when our spirits will be again united with our bodies so that we will no longer be naked (2 Cor. 5:3) but able to live throughout eternity in the form God created us to enjoy. The new body of the Christian is yet future, though each deceased saint is now in the presence of the Lord. Pastor MacArthur
@Brucev7 Why do you keep repeating the same thing? You are taking 2 Cor 5:3 out of context. There is nothing in the Bible that talks about a "holding place" or a "spiritual realm". That is ancient mythological paganism. Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, Babylonians, Samaritans, Chinese ... take your pick.
@Brucev7 For if you have fallen in with some who are called Christians, but who do not admit the Truth of the resurrection and venture to blaspheme the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob; who say that there is no resurrection of the dead, and that their souls when they die are taken to heaven: do not imagine that they are Christians. - Justin Martyr 150 AD
@privatepersonal "negative comments" is not a fair assessment. I'm not a JW and I have major doctrinal problems with them but if you want to challenge their beliefs, you should do so with their doctrines, not a perceived negative tone by one of their members.
I can see this woman is EXTREMELY upset because someone denied her an invitation to her own mother's funeral, WOULDN'T YOU BE UPSET?? Disfellowshipped means he committed a serious sin. He is allowed to attend Christian meetings, but he can't talk to other JW's until a future time when he would be reinstated into the congregation. This is after several months or so, when his life is back with bible teachings. In 1 Corinthians 5:13 it says, "...remove the wicked (man) from among yourselves."
That's not the time to be petty my fam is JW I wish somebody would act like dat during my mothers funeral it's a shame your there to pay respect to the person who fell alseep in death "Cut it out"
I am not a witness myself, but I have taken the time to understand their teachings and I would just like to say that they DO NOT believe only 144,000 will survive... 144,000 is the amount of people that will go to the heavens with God, those people have already been chosen.. The rest of the people who are saved will remain in the earth. Nowhere do they say only 144,000 people will be saved... Not trying to be a hater, just clearing things up..
@KimJary9405 That's a very accurate summation of their beliefs concerning the 144,000. But if only JW's could understand that the Watchtower has mislead them even on that issue.
Another thing they believe is that Christ invisibly returned in 1914. Wrong! It is clearly stated in the Bible that "all eyes will see him". His return is yet to come.
And another thing...They can't decide what Jesus died on. In early years, their literature actually had a cross on it. Now they claim he died on a stake...They now look at the cross as a symbol of "false christianity". But in all actuality, no one can really prove what he died on....hope this helped
Putting limits on God's abilities is absurd! How couldn't Jehovah God place a part of himself into a virgin's womb to make that part of him a human? I'm talking about the creator of the universe here. When the angel approached Mary and told her she would give birth, she is to call the child Emmanuel. That translates "God with us". What could be more clear than that? I really hope any Jw's reading this will have their eyes opened to the real truth.
I spent 17 years in that cult. About the only good things I got out of that religion was good morals and a great Bible knowledge. A knowledge that over time I found many flaws in the religion's teachings. They believe Jehovah and Jesus are two different entities. They think they can disprove the trinity just by what happened at Jesus' baptism. God spoke "This is my son for whom i have approved" and the holy spirit came down. They think God CAN'T be 3 places at once. That is limiting his power...
The Jehovah's Witness cult split a once united family I had. That's right...I called them a cult. Any of you JW's seeing this may bash me all you want. To be blunt, you all are a bunch of brainwashed lab rats. This so called "religion" is nothing but a man-made organization that controls people. You fools also believe that your religion is a "God-directed organization. You're NOT the Truth! Jesus is the truth! If we want to get to God, it's through Jesus. Not controlling mortal men!
The lady who spoke of her mother sounded real intelligent and she knew what she was talking but as she was leaving the room I got a different impression of her.
She had an evil look in her eye almost like she was ready to physically fight.
When the lady speaks of her mother having a heavenly hope you can see how much she really believes that doctrine. She emphasizes more than once of her mother's hope in an earthly resurrection, not heavenly. Sad how the Watchtower succeeds in giving certain of it's followers less than what God promises. When you observe all of what the bible teaches we get earth and heaven, not just earth.
i cant believe these people only believe 144,000 people will be saved..that is so depressing because there are billions of people on the earth now and there was billions on the earth befor my generation. So what makes them think the 144,000 have not already been chosen million of years ago?? They is doing all that work for nothing knocking on people doors FOR WHAT? my chances of being saved is 0%
@22nessa22 That is what they don't understand, Nessa. God is saving and is going to save millions of people. And you are included in that, Sister. Jesus Christ loves you so much that He came died for you. But they won't tell you that at the Kingdom Hall.
@GsShay Amen Jesus said "I" am the way the truth and the light "No Man" comes unto the father except by me. And ill believe and trust in him until the day i die.
They think that their grandmother will resurrect in this word (paradise)? While it's written: Rev 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
Those who hope 2 dwell on Earth 4 ever, will b deceived.
If you die without the Lord Jesus Christ, the only place you'll end up is HELL. Sorry to tell you the sad truth, YOUR GRANDMOTHER WILL GO TO HELL FOR SHE DIED WITHOUT CHRIST. Jn 11: 25Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: 26And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
Hy@tresa111 Thank 2 the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, i'll go 2 Heaven. 4, according 2: "John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life", I have LIF Ee in me.
U need 2 believe in the Lord Jesus in order 2B saved.
@EZASOMO : you remind me exactly of the JW's : 'god only likes you if you're in the club' bullshit. That's mean that'd you say this to a family you don't even know.
@eric5906 I don't what you r blabling about. However, since jw denied God died for our since on the cross, and that we've been redeemed by the precious blood of God himself, they r ANTICHRIST
@EZASOMO: I guess I'm 'babling' if I try to make a point? LOL. I'll say it a different way: God listens to the prayers of all sincere ones (christians, hindus, buddhists, etc.) If you follow your Jesus, that's ok. but, don't try to limit the Creator. God can do whatever He wants. He listens to the prayers of all honest seekers of all faiths. You know who you sound like when you say, 'oh, she's gone to hell'? You sound like Fred Phelps, the idiot who protests soldiers' funerals.
@eric5906 no YAHWEH, doenst listen to religious's people prayers. Yes, religious people are sincere but the r sincerely in error. The only place religion(jw, catholicism, protestant, hindu,...) will lead is HELL. Only does who believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior will inherit the Kingdom of Heaven. By believing in the Lord Jesus, the Holy Spirit will come and dwell in you to help you obey to the World of God (YAHWEH).
@EZASOMO : Wow. You remind me of the fanaticism of a moslem guy I used to talk with when I was in college. Instead of 'Jesus', he would say, 'you need to accept Mohammed!' with just as much conviction as you. I have no doubt your Jesus is very nice, but again, he is not the only way to reach God.
@eric5906 Jesus said I am the "way" the "truth" and the "light" no man comes unto the father (God) except by ME..i dont think he could have gotten any plainer..he is the only way and why not follow Jesus? hes the only one who died so that you might me saved..Mohammed didnt die for you he didnt even heal or do any miricles for anybody, Mary didnt die for you she just gave birth to Jesus (and he died for u)..but people have always hated Jesus and so they killed him for healing and loveing people
@eric5906 I'm not here promoting a church,or a given borganization, but the Word of God (the Lord Jesus). If u don't like his only begotten Son, Yahweh won't like u: John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
I feel evryone should be treated with love and respect.I grew up as a Jehovah Witness and i think that eveyone are imperfect. People ,man, woman twist things. No one should be treated less than the next, and remember you will be judged for your actions by Jehovah- God- Him-.Please everyone treat thy neighbor like you want to be treated--that is one of the ten commandments.

This is so sad. I feel sorry for the lady that got up and left. She has been greatly mislead. I'm sure she thinks she's doing what's right. JW's are so brainedwashed by the Faithful and Discreet Slave aka False Prophets. I don't think God ever intended to break up families like this. I hope she wake up someday. I left the Lie 1 1/2 years ago after the body of elders in two congregations continued to condone domestic violence. I was shunned because I finally went to the police .
@mydizzymelody I grew up in a household like that, I would sleep at night with my NWT on my pillow. LOL, I know. I've seen it all, the elder that was studying with me for baptism, molested my friend in a hotel the night before his public talk. I was married for 6 years to my first wife, I came home, found her naked with a 18 year old boy hiding in the closet. The elders said that I did not have grounds for divorce. I stood firm and won my freedom. At first, I was angry, now I understand. ;)
@nwsaboy, when have you ever heard a religious group say that another denomination was right, greater than or equal to? NEVER! Religion (fundamentally) has been corrupted by man and his greed. And those who don't consider JW a denomination must admit its pretty close..They believe in God (Jehovah) and Jesus (His son) , they pray to Jehovah and not to Jesus..they don't reverence Jesus as God.
@nwsaboy, when have you ever heard a religious group say that another denomination was right, greater than or equal to? NEVER! Religion (fundamentally) has been corrupted by man and his greed. If you look up the actual definition of Christianity it will show you...
@erinsinopoli Like hell I am. I disagree with their blood issue the most. but other than that they believe in other silly shit like a man living in the belly of a fish for 3 days, in talking bushes and snakes and crap like a man puttn 2 of every species of land animal (and bird) on a boat for 40 days. Just like you probly. So all you are fucked up. Cept they are a peaceful people who DONT go to war.
also for the super Christians...learn your faith..there are approximately 31 denominations of Christianity , and JW is one of them by definition. The Crusades were Christians told by a "man of the cloth" that killing in the name of God was right...all religions have poor representations of the purpose...It's not religion that I don't trust or God..it's man's ignorance and intolerance. not trying to be preachy or anything...Im simple, just be a good person and E.L.E (Everyone Love Everyone)
@KingAnwan if you go to those "31" christian groups....30 of them will say JW is not christian....i have never seen a christian teacher or organization consider JW a christian organization.
being a good person is not enough....because we all fail (including me), and their needs to be consequence for our failings and sin. There needs to be justice for those actions. It is only there that Jesus can take our sin and we can be forgiven.
I'm more so spiritual tan anything else...but being raised in two households one Baptist and one JW...I've taken the stand point that formal institutes of religion are nothing more than a power hoarders.
No one chooses a religion that doesn't put them in power or advantageous state.
Even economic journals note that voluntary associations to organizations (i.e. church) has an impact on everything, from voting to the way we spend money (the clothing you buy, food you eat or don't eat).
She is right....because her mother was one of Jehovah's witnesses, and it was her beliefs. So I give her props for standing up for her deceased mother, and letting everyone know how she felt. Good job sister! Jesus said his deciples would be hated, just as he was John 15: 18,19.
@Cacilla1 NO one hates you, we hate how stupid you act, but you we love. The young man said that his Grandmother didn't want her family divided. NO one persecutes JWs, you are the ones persecuting. You guys are truly insane.
i wish i had her as my grandmother. Ive been disfellowshipped since 97 and I had my dad in my life until about 3 years ago and he just cut me loose completely. I was rasied with women like your grandmother and I she would be so disappointed to hear all the comments made. Im sorry this happened. Ive lost my father to this religion and he will never speak to me again
I was raised a Jehovah's Witness and left when I found the real truth in Jesus Christ and became a born-again Christian. My grandmother died and I was not invited to her funeral. In fact, I wasn't informed of her death until a year after it happened.
@GsShay Thank you GsShay! I've actually just recently reconciled with my family and they have become more open to the gospel. It's quite a miracle since JWs are required to shun members that leave (especially if you leave and become a Christian). I'm praying that they will eventually accept Christ. Thanks again & God Bless!
"There are in the end three things that last: faith, hope, and love, and the greatest of these is love." 1 Corinthians 13:13 ..Too bad the witnesses dont recognize that scripture. What a tool the silver wigged woman is.

i love Jehovah but god is not the author of confusion. The last guy should have just left it alone. We worry too much about where we are going. why can't we focus on the service of God and as long as I am on God's side of the fence and I am safe then I will be happy. amen
To be neutral. Whose is in charge of the arrangements? If the mother was one of Jehovah's witnesses then why is there no brother taking charge or giving the talk? This is all disorganized! Everyone has a right to say what they believe but the one whose dead would go with what she believed in. I say this whole arrangement is disorganized and doesnt make sense. I did my father's funeral on my own and gave the talk. All was welcome and no problems. The kingdom? In hearts? Read john 3:2,mt6:9,10.
those real family members who spoke in favor of the mother and the mothers view did a good job!
everybody is welcome and we do not live under Moses'law:
17 Return evil for evil to no one. Provide fine things in the sight of all men. 18 If possible, as far as it depends upon YOU, be peaceable with all men. ....20 But, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.21 Do not let yourself be conquered by the evil, but keep conquering the evil with the good.
You may be sincere in hoping that she is sleeping...But you need to read the word of God (King James version) If a child of God dies in the Lord, a person that has accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior and trusts Him totally. Upon death,, IMMEDIATELY is PRESENT with the Lord..We need to stop deceiving ourselves.. God's word is TRUE..We need to stop trusting man when it comes to Salvation and finding Eternal life..The bible says, that Salvation is found in NO ONE other than Jesus Christ!
@afterraincomessun Bible text is from "King James Version" ... Being present with the Lord upon death, for his followers is 2 Corinthians 5:8.... Salvation being Only in the name of Jesus is Acts 4:10-12
@afterraincomessun Scripture is found in 2 Corinthians 5:8... The entire chapter 5 Paul is talking about our home in heaven once our earthly life is finished...
I just realize this was staged! When the lady said ol'boy was disfellowship, that was a fake! People who get disfellowship in JW faith is done by a governing body, not a woman walking out the door. ONce the person is disfellowship an announcement is made at the KH they attend. I know this b/c my aunt was disfellowship and was reinstated 6 months later after she proved to be very remorsful and repented.
@blackCaliGirl661 There is no indication that it is "staged." This is EXACTLY how Jehovah's Witnesses make a practice of shunning. True, The Watchtower dictates that there is a formal hearing and announcment, but a person can make an action or decision that results in the shunning of a person because THEY do not find it pleasing to jehovah. I was never officially DF'd, but because I chose to go to college and date non witness women, I have been disfellowshipped.
this is so crazy! why are they debating this at the funeral? and who is the chick that kept saying "she needs to sit down" about the woman who was talking about her dead mother? That is her mother, so keep your OMG's to yourself! My gma was a JW and my aunts are JW. I also went to KH when I was younger and though I am not attending now I can say I was never brainwashed! I really doubt the lady ws lying about peps saying they are not welcomed. Bet those JW haters cleaned gma house out!

So sad

I there is a lack of love with the witnesses!
prophetbyronmotley 8 months ago

It can be taken to be an insult.
mashan1978 5 months ago
@mashan1978 I believe that the insult to the JWs was two things, first, the man speaking was an ex member and the comment that you don't have to go to a Kingdom Hall, the Kingdom of God is in your heart (in you). Luke 17:21. If the JWs had of known the verse, they would not have been offended. Even if they did know it, it still offended them because they don't agree with this biblical verse.

Do Christians receive glorified bodies immediately after they die?
Luke 23:43; 2 Corinthians 5:6-8; 1 John 3:2
Code: QA098
Second Corinthians 5:6-8 makes it clear that the believer is ushered directly into the presence of God upon death. Paul argues that "to be absent from the body" is tantamount to being "present with the Lord."

Thank you for sharing this video. It gives a clear example of Watchtower Society bait and switch tactics (they're actually not allowed vs saying they're not welcome); their beliefs on death and resurrection, the final day; and the immediate retribution that a member faces once upsetting any of their strict rules. I hope this man is living a healthier life today.
ThePurpleSeahorse 9 months ago
The Bible says to be absent in body is to be present with the Lord. Your physical body rests. Your spirit goes to the father until the second coming of Christ when our bodies are caught up in the air and were given our glorified bodies.
tehbobb08 9 months ago
@tehbobb08 The spirit is the breath of God (Gen 2:7, Job 27:3) that RETURNS to God upon death (Ecc. 12:7). Did you come from God? No. Man was made from the earth with the breath/spirit of God and became a living soul (1 Cor 15:45).
2 Corinthians 5:8 is in reference to the day of the coming of the LORD when we receive Heavenly/Immortal Bodies - that is being absent from our body and present with the LORD (1 Cor 15:50-58, 1 Thes 4:13-18).
The "Immortal Soul" doctrine is pagan.

@FAITHandLOGIC The Holy Spirit dwells within me. Whats difficult to understand about that?
tehbobb08 9 months ago
@tehbobb08 You're proving my point. Ecc 12:7 says the spirit RETURNS to God who gave it. Therefore He is taking back the spirit (breath) upon death as it says when both Jesus and Stephen died: they both said "Father, I commit my spirit" and then "breathed their last."
Even the early Christian fathers taught this truth: Irenaus, Justin Martyr, Hippolytus, Tertullian ...
They were aware that the "spiritual" heaven/hades was nothing more than Greek Mythology.
FAITHandLOGIC 9 months ago
@FAITHandLOGIC Then how do you explain Jesus telling the repentent thief that "today you will be with me in paradise? Scripture is emphatic about the fact that we go to be with God instantly after death. We are incomplete though. Until our mortal bodies are caught up and we are given our Glorified body. In Revelation 6:9-11, Martyrs are in heaven pleading with the father for justice. They would not be able to do that if they were not joined with God.
tehbobb08 9 months ago
@tehbobb08 The translators decided to put a comma where it didn't belong. It should read: "I say to you today, you will be with me in paradise." This is common-speak in those days. Other examples are Deut 4:26, 39, 40, 5:1, 6:6, 7:11 and 30:18 as well as Acts 20:26.
As for Rev 6:9-11, that is referring to the Martyrs of the Roman Empire and it is not literal, it is symbolic of God's memory of their martyrdom.
FAITHandLOGIC 9 months ago
@FAITHandLOGIC That last speculation at best.
tehbobb08 9 months ago
@tehbobb08 It's the correct interpretation of Revelation. The reformers taught this. Please don't tell me you believe in that "Left Behind" Dispensationalism nonsense.
Answer me this. If you go to heaven/hell immediately upon death as a spirit then why does Jesus need to return and resurrect the dead?
FAITHandLOGIC 9 months ago
@FAITHandLOGIC He is returning to call the believers that are alive to be with him. At that time, the dead mortal bodies (of those whose souls are already with the father) will be caught up as well, and all believers will then receive their Glorified bodies. The entire purpose of Christ's second coming is to join the church with himself. Other than the believers who are already with him in soul form.
tehbobb08 9 months ago
@tehbobb08 That makes no sense for a few reasons. First. it's the spirit (breath) that returns to God upon death, not the soul. Ecc 12:7. Second, why would God take people out of the bliss of Heaven to be put down on earth? Third, why wouldn't God just wait for the people who are alive to die to be with Him in Heaven?
The promise is eternal life at the resurrection, not at death. The Bible is clear and consistent about this.
FAITHandLOGIC 9 months ago
@FAITHandLOGIC You misunderstand me. Im not saying that he takes people out of heaven. Im saying that those people who die stay in heaven until we enter the millennial kingdom on the new earth. What im saying is that people who have already died will leave behind their earthly body until Christs second coming. and dont ask me why God wouldnt wait until men die so they could meet him in heaven. He has made it clear that his plan is to come again to join with the rest of the Church.

Brucev7 9 months ago
@Brucev7 I already addressed this verse. Read it in context. Paul is referring to the time of the coming of Christ, not when you die. Think about ti. Who went to Heaven as a spirit in the Bible? No one! Jesus ascended, Enoch did not taste death, Elijah was taken up, even Paul had an experience when he was translated to the "3rd Heaven". The Kingdom is inherited with a translated body, not as a ghost. Pagans promised of a spiritual realm. Jesus promised a resurrection. Big Difference.

@FAITHandLOGIC And Jesus said, Luke 23:43
Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
Luke 23:46 46 And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said, “Father, ‘into Your hands I commit My spirit.’”[a] Having said this, He breathed His last.
Brucev7 9 months ago
@Brucev7 I already addressed Luke23:46 ... don't you people read my comments before you respond? The SPIRIT IS BREATH! The "spirit of God in my nostrils" Job 27:3.
As for Lk 23:43, there is NO PUNCTUATION in the original Greek. The comma was added only within the last 100 years by American translators.
How about this? Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you today, you will be with me in paradise.”
Changes the context, doesn't it? Learn the original language, then come talk to me.
FAITHandLOGIC 9 months ago
@FAITHandLOGIC The text is clear. Jesus was speaking of present tense.
Brucev7 9 months ago
@Brucev7 "I say to you today you will be with me in paradise". Correct, he is talking in the present tense about a future event.
Do you want to keep going? Explain these:
And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. - Dan 12:2
So man lies down and does not rise. Until the heavens are no longer, He will not awake nor be aroused out of his sleep. - Job 14:12
FAITHandLOGIC 9 months ago
@FAITHandLOGIC these are from the old testament before jesus defeated the grave, so you cant use those before jesus believers went to a place called abrahams bossom but now our souls go straight to heaven and our bodies stay behind but when Jesus comes back our bodies will rise and we will be reunited, we'll have a body like jesus has now siince he's been resurected, answer this where did jesus go after dying?, why did he rise?
chosen572 5 months ago
cont'd Jesus sounded a similar theme when He told the thief on the cross "today you will be with Me in Paradise" (Luke 23:43).
Brucev7 9 months ago
cont'd 3--The apostle Paul speaks of the time when our spirits will be again united with our bodies so that we will no longer be naked (2 Cor. 5:3) but able to live throughout eternity in the form God created us to enjoy. The new body of the Christian is yet future, though each deceased saint is now in the presence of the Lord. Pastor MacArthur
Brucev7 9 months ago
@Brucev7 Why do you keep repeating the same thing? You are taking 2 Cor 5:3 out of context. There is nothing in the Bible that talks about a "holding place" or a "spiritual realm". That is ancient mythological paganism. Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, Babylonians, Samaritans, Chinese ... take your pick.

@22nessa22
KimJary9405 10 months ago
@KimJary9405 That's a very accurate summation of their beliefs concerning the 144,000. But if only JW's could understand that the Watchtower has mislead them even on that issue.
formeyousee 10 months ago
Another thing they believe is that Christ invisibly returned in 1914. Wrong! It is clearly stated in the Bible that "all eyes will see him". His return is yet to come.
And another thing...They can't decide what Jesus died on. In early years, their literature actually had a cross on it. Now they claim he died on a stake...They now look at the cross as a symbol of "false christianity". But in all actuality, no one can really prove what he died on....hope this helped
chrisstorm91 11 months ago
Putting limits on God's abilities is absurd! How couldn't Jehovah God place a part of himself into a virgin's womb to make that part of him a human? I'm talking about the creator of the universe here. When the angel approached Mary and told her she would give birth, she is to call the child Emmanuel. That translates "God with us". What could be more clear than that? I really hope any Jw's reading this will have their eyes opened to the real truth.
chrisstorm91 11 months ago
I spent 17 years in that cult. About the only good things I got out of that religion was good morals and a great Bible knowledge. A knowledge that over time I found many flaws in the religion's teachings. They believe Jehovah and Jesus are two different entities. They think they can disprove the trinity just by what happened at Jesus' baptism. God spoke "This is my son for whom i have approved" and the holy spirit came down. They think God CAN'T be 3 places at once. That is limiting his power...
chrisstorm91 11 months ago

Monk3597 11 months ago

They is doing all that work for nothing knocking on people doors FOR WHAT? my chances of being saved is 0%
22nessa22 1 year ago
@22nessa22 That is what they don't understand, Nessa. God is saving and is going to save millions of people. And you are included in that, Sister. Jesus Christ loves you so much that He came died for you. But they won't tell you that at the Kingdom Hall.

essy111 1 year ago
If you die without the Lord Jesus Christ, the only place you'll end up is HELL. Sorry to tell you the sad truth, YOUR GRANDMOTHER WILL GO TO HELL FOR SHE DIED WITHOUT CHRIST. Jn 11: 25Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: 26And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

U need 2 believe in the Lord Jesus in order 2B saved.

@EZASOMO : you remind me exactly of the JW's : 'god only likes you if you're in the club' bullshit. That's mean that'd you say this to a family you don't even know.
eric5906 1 year ago
@eric5906 I don't what you r blabling about. However, since jw denied God died for our since on the cross, and that we've been redeemed by the precious blood of God himself, they r ANTICHRIST
EZASOMO 1 year ago
@EZASOMO: I guess I'm 'babling' if I try to make a point? LOL. I'll say it a different way: God listens to the prayers of all sincere ones (christians, hindus, buddhists, etc.) If you follow your Jesus, that's ok. but, don't try to limit the Creator. God can do whatever He wants. He listens to the prayers of all honest seekers of all faiths. You know who you sound like when you say, 'oh, she's gone to hell'? You sound like Fred Phelps, the idiot who protests soldiers' funerals.
eric5906 1 year ago
@eric5906 no YAHWEH, doenst listen to religious's people prayers. Yes, religious people are sincere but the r sincerely in error. The only place religion(jw, catholicism, protestant, hindu,...) will lead is HELL. Only does who believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior will inherit the Kingdom of Heaven. By believing in the Lord Jesus, the Holy Spirit will come and dwell in you to help you obey to the World of God (YAHWEH).
EZASOMO 1 year ago
@EZASOMO : Wow. You remind me of the fanaticism of a moslem guy I used to talk with when I was in college. Instead of 'Jesus', he would say, 'you need to accept Mohammed!' with just as much conviction as you. I have no doubt your Jesus is very nice, but again, he is not the only way to reach God.
eric5906 1 year ago
@eric5906 Jesus said I am the "way" the "truth" and the "light" no man comes unto the father (God) except by ME..i dont think he could have gotten any plainer..he is the only way and why not follow Jesus? hes the only one who died so that you might me saved..Mohammed didnt die for you he didnt even heal or do any miricles for anybody, Mary didnt die for you she just gave birth to Jesus (and he died for u)..but people have always hated Jesus and so they killed him for healing and loveing people
22nessa22 1 year ago
@eric5906 I'm not here promoting a church,or a given borganization, but the Word of God (the Lord Jesus). If u don't like his only begotten Son, Yahweh won't like u: John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
So, jw r already under condemnation.

And those who don't consider JW a denomination must admit its pretty close..They believe in God (Jehovah) and Jesus (His son) , they pray to Jehovah and not to Jesus..they don't reverence Jesus as God.

also for the super Christians...learn your faith..there are approximately 31 denominations of Christianity , and JW is one of them by definition.
KingAnwan 1 year ago
@KingAnwan if you go to those "31" christian groups....30 of them will say JW is not christian....i have never seen a christian teacher or organization consider JW a christian organization.
being a good person is not enough....because we all fail (including me), and their needs to be consequence for our failings and sin. There needs to be justice for those actions. It is only there that Jesus can take our sin and we can be forgiven.
nwsaboy 1 year ago
@KingAnwan here are a lot more than 31 denominations.

I just realize this was staged! When the lady said ol'boy was disfellowship, that was a fake! People who get disfellowship in JW faith is done by a governing body, not a woman walking out the door. ONce the person is disfellowship an announcement is made at the KH they attend. I know this b/c my aunt was disfellowship and was reinstated 6 months later after she proved to be very remorsful and repented.
blackCaliGirl661 1 year ago
@blackCaliGirl661 There is no indication that it is "staged." This is EXACTLY how Jehovah's Witnesses make a practice of shunning. True, The Watchtower dictates that there is a formal hearing and announcment, but a person can make an action or decision that results in the shunning of a person because THEY do not find it pleasing to jehovah. I was never officially DF'd, but because I chose to go to college and date non witness women, I have been disfellowshipped.
A cult, pure and simple........
