he didn't stone the fish hit it a little too high and wrong angle Ajs sweet spot is a little small. He did put a big hurt on it tho. When you stone them they go stiff mouth opens in a split sec and thats it. I have been wrapped up 150ft deep by a aj they are strong i also put a bad shot on it.

If you saw a shark when you are spearfishing, its just probably after your fish. just keep an eye on it and let it take your fish if necesarry. You can shoot it if you want but they are usless to eat if their above 6 foot because the mercury level will be to high and you will just be killing a fish what will have no use what so ever to you.

They use breath holding technique & are incredibly fit to stay down so long. Before diving they hyper ventilate, this forces most of the last third of carbon dioxide out of their lungs increasing bottom time. Its dangerous though as its that last third of carbon dioxide in ones lungs that triggers the urge to breath. Many xtreme spearfishermen have died from shallow water blackout due. When I was still spreafishing I had a bottom time of almost 4 minutes

@PieDesigns there are many techniques besides hyperventilation. hyperventilation is the most likely to get you killed, as like you said, either a) shallow water blackout or b) total blackout, and then of course drowning and death occuring from those. simply practising and training to get your lungs in that shape can give you the ability to stay down for however so long. some techniques are breathing completely out - and then diving. or simply slow, deep, calm breaths and then diving also work
