I am a 7th grade dropout.I was 13 years old,now i am 28 turning 29 in march.I wish i continued going to school.I droped out because of family issues.I regret not going to school,i wish i could turn back time.
Its pretty stupid that High schools teach shit that never happens in the "The Real World" when all we need to know is basic math and the other misc things that are needed for "The Real World"
I'm a relatively smart student (AP, a&b average), but I agree that the graduation requirements are bullshit. Not everyone has to be good at math, good at english, etc. It's holding people back.
The school system is flawed beyond belief, public school in any big city today is no longer a place for education but a place for survival. Parents, enroll your kids into private school or christian school. Unless you live in a suburban town, public school is a hell hole full of kids using drugs and getting into fights. School just isn't what it used to be.

I got stationed in Europe but I have traveled all over with my own money because I live here. My credit really is good I don't know what my exact score is but I do have good credit and I have a deduction out of my paycheck every month for a certain amount to go into savings. IMO unless you are really smart and can afford to go to a school like Harvard or Stanford I don't see the point of going to college. Its just a waste of time and all you do is learn useless information.

In today's competitive job market, a high school diploma is very important because you will need a four year degree to get a decent job today. Other than military service there is little to no chance of getting a good job without a four year degree. Employers today use a four year degree as an economical screening tool. Those with the four year degree get looked at those without a degree have little or no chance of scoring an interview.
Education has nothing to do with how much you make, yea it's better if you have a hs diploma but it all depends on you mind you knowledge what ideas you have.

im a resource student and im about to drop out...and im in 11th grade...i always do my work and always study its just that i cant pass the exit exam...i try very hard and i dont know what to do...tests like the exit exam makes me feel nervous...i intend not to however it still overcomes me...i can graduate high school however if im not going to pass my exit exam then whats the point...

i droped out of high school this year and i have a job thats giving me 20 bucks an hour and all i have to do is watch inmates and make sure there ok most ppl i no say omg isnt that job dangerous and guess what its not just because ppl r in jail dont make them bad ppl 90% of the ppl i watch shouldnt even be in jail.

I hated school and for a while I considered dropping out, but lucky for me I toughed it out. I'm 29 and I know people I went to high school with who dropped out and now work in dead end jobs and have trouble paying their rent. So glad I did not take that path!

I dropped out in eleventh grade. I got my GED a week later. now I'm 22 with a brand new car and house(fully payed off and i have excellent credit.) I have full health insurance and have visited almost every country in europe just to party using my own money.Don't let anyone ever tell you that you will be nothing without a high school deploma. 9th 10th and 11th grade was the biggest waste of time of my life. My only regret is that I didn't dropout earlier.

While getting a GED is an alternative to a High School, it is not a substitute or as good as a High School Diploma. However, it would be hard to get a job that pays more money even to people with a GED. And some colleges and universities accepts applicant with a GED, but there are limits. So you might as well, finish school and get your diploma instead. Then, you will have unlimited access to anything you want in the future.

i went to bhs and i didnt get to graduate with my class. I worked so hard to get my diploma and 5 mins before grad. my counselor said you cant walk ( i was already in my cap & gown). and what hurt me the most was that people who were missing 20 credits got to walk and i was missin 5 credits.A year later i got my diploma. For all the seniors right now who missin credits get to it. Its worth all the sacrfice . class of 07!!

Why the majority of high school drop outs are working dead end jobs. The majority people are c grade students, very few people are excel or the best in their fields.

Its easy to say that kids dropout because they're "lazy". Although that may be the case its not there fault. Its the parents. The parents didn't teach the kid early on how to balance out work and play. Thats not all though, the parents also chose to have a kid when they couldn't even support themselves. The parents are already living in a bad area and the kids have to grow up in this environment.
I dropped out because my Dad was an abusive alcoholic. Does that make me lazy? I don't think so.

i droped out of high school this year and i have a job thats giving me 20 bucks an hour and all i have to do is watch inmates and make sure there ok most ppl i no say omg isnt that job dangerous and guess what its not just because ppl r in jail dont make them bad ppl 90% of the ppl i watch shouldnt even be in jail.
if u leave high school heres my advice..
1. get ur GED
2. make sure u have a place to live
3. get a job

I hated school and for a while I considered dropping out, but lucky for me I toughed it out. I'm 29 and I know people I went to high school with who dropped out and now work in dead end jobs and have trouble paying their rent. So glad I did not take that path!

I dropped out in eleventh grade. I got my GED a week later. now I'm 22 with a brand new car and house(fully payed off and i have excellent credit.) I have full health insurance and have visited almost every country in europe just to party using my own money.Don't let anyone ever tell you that you will be nothing without a high school deploma. 9th 10th and 11th grade was the biggest waste of time of my life. My only regret is that I didn't dropout earlier.

Two comments: 1) This is one of the reasons why CA is bankrupt - extra money - big bucks - has to be spent for all of these alternative programs just to get high school graduates who are mainly going to stop educating after high school - a few of the lucky ones might end up with a two-year associate degree from a community college - but all of these people are not going to be contributing enough tax reveue to the state 2) think HS is difficult? try a doctoral program sweetie...

While getting a GED is an alternative to a High School, it is not a substitute or as good as a High School Diploma. However, it would be hard to get a job that pays more money even to people with a GED. And some colleges and universities accepts applicant with a GED, but there are limits. So you might as well, finish school and get your diploma instead. Then, you will have unlimited access to anything you want in the future.

i know there's some who work hard to get their deploma and didnt get to walk, and that is truly sad. Sorry this is going to sound really mean, BUT from a studends point of view who went to BHS in o5... some of them didnt really care for school and i think that they deserved not to graduate. i went to bhs and i didnt get to graduate with my class. I worked so hard to get my diploma and 5 mins before grad. my counselor said you cant walk ( i was already in my cap & gown). and what hurt me the most was that people who were missing 20 credits got to walk and i was missin 5 credits.A year later i got my diploma. For all the seniors right now who missin credits get to it. Its worth all the sacrfice . class of 07!!
