i would argue that if you're "really fighting" then something's gone wrong. truly knowing yourself is the zenith of every worthwhile martial art, not knowing how many people you can theoretically beat holy shit out of.

Mestre Espirro is one of my favorite Mestres, arguably one of the best Capoeiristas in the world although that isn't as clear here as in some other videos I've seen of him.
Since I've never heard of them I'll leave the possibility open for now. Nevertheless, there is no top ten list of currently living Capoeiristas which would be complete without Mestre Espirro.
i would think continually practicing to miss hitting your partner. would be a bit of a concern when it comes to really fighting?

I love Mestre Espirro. Mainly his control over his body in capoeira, in that aspect he is one of the greatest.
