I like his style and relaxed, happy way of going on about this. What he says makes a lot of sense. I could care less what he looks like, because looks are nothing. It's all about what's inside you, and if that's sounding cliche', then so be it. I like the "energy" I'm getting from listening to this man. I'll be checking out more of this going forward.
@bloated what makes you think that he is sucking off the community? he sounds more articulate than you and looks to be a rasta. it may be cultural thing to have a beard. Other cultural have beards.
i love this guy, not in a weird way, but he is very down to earth and wise, id be luckey to train with him or someone like him. people like him are what truely sustains my faith in humanity. AND hes got a rockn beard and an awsome smile. Thank you roberto sharpe!
Though your words are harsh, you were drawn to this video. MAybe its time to see through the ignorance of your position. And hear the words he speaks from his heart. You mustve had some form of interest?
Amazing explanation - I love how he talks about Chi Sao and the reasoning and history throughout all martial styles - then the sparring vs. fluidic training explanation...wow...
I've seen a few of the other videos from this guy and he seems like a great teacher. He's very knowledgeable in different styles and history. I hope he's getting the respect he deserves

people want a solid striking self defense, muay thai, shotokan, boxing are best muay thai kicks and clinching knees will put down an attacker, shotokan points fighting is unbelievably underrated the ability to get the first strike in and counter an opponent and avoid strikes, then you have boxing, you can counter and block punches, throw punches accurately and technically correct, you can use good footwork, as 99% of street fights are brawls boxing is key.
guuriki. u limit urself; "hope one day i to can amount to that clarity, wisdom and peace of mind". Just like 99% of the general population. Just limit urself. Place limits on ur abilities and what u can do.
yea yea all u fags and fucking tree hugging hippes like this fucking bullshit look at this guy hes a fucking pothead .....u see a japenese martial artist chinese or even american u see there more disciplined and they have there mind set on goals this is disgusting for u all to be agreeing with this sack of shit bum
shut the hell up! you're only talking shit to hype people up n gettem angry, but i won't fall for that. stop being a bitch and post some videos, teach me a thing or two. until then---STFU!!!
we all have our vices and are found lacking in our respective disciplines for instance; yours has to deal with humility and temperance. you will learn these lessons in your life if you are lucky or else you will be humiliated when you are prone to loose your temper.

LOLOL!!
u have none nothing of my yet u say ? i will be humiliated when iam prone to loose my temper.
iam a very softspoken boy if u talk with anger it will get you no where. i assume that you get your life lessons at an old age i realize these things at a young age the reason. it is my destiny as i shape and create. luck? no it is my mind my body n my soullllllllllllllllll.
let me tell you boy; would you have so much contempt for yourself when you reach my age? how is it that temper is often associated with anger when it is really a matter of composure. you are arrogant and therefore you are NOT all inclusive. as if your soft spoken demeanor is a testament to your inner calm...please, you reek of passive aggressiveness...GO TO YOUR ROOM!!!
often we judge others through the lense that we seemingly objectify the world. perhaps its time for you to objectify the lense; clear it of any smudges and grind out imperfections that may distort your "objective view".
so tell me now farstar, how you have come to project this onto me? perhaps you have not seen the whole thread of this conversation to have said these things to me? and if this wasnt addressed to me well, then i apologize for jumping to conclusions.
tui shou(push hand) is train sense & maintain stability. san shou(spar hand) is a couple large steps up from push hands similar to sparring- different push hands

This guy (Robert Shape) gave up of his bachelor degree in law to live his life for a philosophy.
He knows what he is.
He is a warrior, peaceful, but a warrior.
He lives unattached to mundane life for one reason, perfecting himself.
That is the determination and self giving of a warrior.
Miyamoto Musashi followed the same path after many wars.
Exile, meditation, and perfection.
