  • This record isn't as early as some of you guys think. It came out in 2000, the same year as DeStijl. The White Stripes formed in 1997. The confusing part is that Jack and Muldoon were in an earlier band called Two Part Resin. This Upholsterers record came out after The White Stripes had become a popular local/regional band with some buzz around them (but hadn't hit the national/international big time yet).

  • this is the first song i am learning on the drums. easy but fun to play

  • amazing! like if you found out about this song through the film 'it might get loud' :)

  • If they would've continued, the upholsterers would've been a success

  • @taguitarface lol all good. What a clusterfuck.

  • @taguitarface So this is his first album release then? Like I originally guessed?

  • @taguitarface Yeah, I heard about this band through that movie too. Sorry, though, what about what I said was incorrect?

  • This song shows Jack White's style for the rest of his career

  • Wow, wasn't this Jack White's first album release (correct me if I'm wrong)? For an early effort this is off the chain, and they do more in only a two-piece than anything these massive fucking 1 million interchangable band-member groups that are coming out these days could possibly dream of.

  • Too fucking short

  • Silver like the moom,

    Silver like a spoon

  • I cant believe I'm just now hearing this.

  • This sounds so much like early White Stripes. The drums are a bit more intense though. It's not too hard to see the continuity in Jack's musical style from this to the Dead Weather, though.

  • It's interesting to hear Jack play with a more flashy filly drummer, they should get back together again and record.

  • What's the third song on that single?

  • @wicherek25P pain and i aint superstitious

  • i wont this album!!!!!!!

  • Noooooooo, white stripes broken up, sadness

  • @grapeseedfruit yeah :'(

  • Every time my interests in Jack White wane, I listen to this song and remember why I started listening to him in the first place.

  • the count is at 5 bands and a small solo career for Jack White

  • too bad this song isn't even 2 minutes long... Too awesome

  • amazing that jack was that good from the start, this tune could be on the next dead weather album and fit right in. damn

  • hes a guitar god, love jack!

  • 1 dislike, really? Who's the asshole who had to go and screw that up.

  • i don't think that jack has ever written a song that i don't like. not many people are that awesome.

  • reminds me a bit of aneurysm, the atmosphere of the song of course!

  • fuck 2 star tabernacle, the upholsterers had their shit together

  • @CitrusBurstCreations without 2 star a few white stripes songs would havenever been made or the white stripes for that matter not to mention blanche is a good showgazer band

  • God he was kick ass even then, he should get back together with Brian and put out a new record, not that he doesn't have enough bands already... just saying

  • dont forget 2 star cool band cool band with dan miller

  • Zero dislikes. I like that.

  • @townsend127 heh, thank god, now i don't have to worry about the generic "the 23 people who dislike this are gay" i was tired of it the second time i saw it.

  • this is cut off, the real version goes to 2:50

  • @YouKnowItsMatt

and where could one find that one?

  • where can I download this?

  • This song is so fucking raw!!! Jack hits the strings so hard the rise in pitch. I'm so keen to make something as powerful as this. The energy is intense even without a bass guitar. This gives rock it's old meaning back. Listen to this nickleback! This song makes them look like a bunch of money hungry poofters!

  • @Meta1Head91 The rise in pitch is a Digitech Whammy pedal.

  • @Joetehpsycho I own a pitch shifting pedal. I was referring to when he hits the low e string when playing a G chord. Actually you can hear that he is hitting the strings aggresively when playing chords throughout the song. Which could be why he isn't in perfect tune but thats Jack White. Loveis it raw and loves a struggle.

  • @Meta1Head91

Oh, Okay, Yeah, I understand what your saying, and Yeah, You see It might get loud?

  • @Joetehpsycho Yeah man. I really got to see what Jack White was about. I love his perspective on music. It's a very good documentary.

  • Hellll yeah.

  • APPLE OF MY EYE FTFW!!

Holy shit this is great stuff:D

  • The drums are awesome..

  • jack white is badass

  • f you guys are looking for other rare Jack White stuff, check out a band called The Hentchmen -album Hentchforth Five, Jack mostly playing bass, really cool 50s punk sound

  • i forgot to thank you for tell me about that now i love the hentchmen

  • i want to listen to this song all day

  • @Toastbitten i know me toooo

  • I just checked for a copy of this on ebay...

450 DOLLARS. It's got cool stuff like jack and brians business card and a chunk of sandpaper and stuff in it...

  • People describe me with these 3 words: Truck, Alpha-Male-Dominance, and Korean

And the fact I LOVE this song means your all cool.

  • you are a flat-out douche nozzle. No joke.

  • @mlsku Haha lol neat lingo!

  • where can I buy this? and is it a vinyl?

  • This is freakin' awesome. I love hearing really early work by great artists. It's like early Nirvana.

  • That is Brian Muldoon and Jack White and this single (their only) was released in 2000.

  • this is from The Unholsterers album... before the white stripes even started. H eformed it with his friend when they worked togeather as upholsterers... xD

  • this was in 2000. A year after White Stripes first album

  • owned

  • this was way after the raconteurs

  • his latest project

  • WRONG

    this was during white stripes

  • it was a joke because of how old this is and its like the beginning of jacks music career sorry i was joking

  • this was before the racounters. years years before.

  • no WRONG IDIOT

  • LOL. raconteurs formed in 2005, the upholsters have been a band since the late 90s.

  • YOUR WRONG YOU SHIT HEAD

  • ...lol okay whatever gets you to sleep at night (: but me & every other jack white fan knows he has said a million times the racs formed when he helped benson finish writing 'steady as she goes' in late 2005-early 2006. the upholsters were before the stripes therefore before the racs.

i dont give a rats ass if you go around parading the wrong info but every other fucking website and fan will tell you the same thing.

  • he started this band after he was done with the grasshopping rabies.

  • Okay...

    1. Jack has been in multiple bands before at once, and has been associated with many acts. As a teen he was in the Fuck Ups, he also performed with the Hentchmen and The Go, was with Goober and The Peas, The White Stripes THEN The Upholsterers while STILL IN The White Stripes. Then came The Raconteurs and now The Dead Weather.

  • @iluvjackwhitemost jack was playing with brian for a while before they released this single, so yes even though the white stripes first album was released a year before this was, jack was playing with muldoon before he and meg made the white stripes

  • This is before the White Stripes. He worked as an upholster and the guy who he worked for played drums, so he said hmm i guess ill play guitar. So after work they started to play - This is what came of that. Be sure to watch the new movie It Might Get Loud when it comes out in August. Documentary of Jack White, Jimmy Page, The Edge.

  • never knew that - thanks for the fact-age !

  • this is like white stipes with better drums

  • thanks i wanted to know but why did jack start this band iff he had the white stripes???

  • yah but its prity much the same sound as the white stripes onless the other guy helps rite the songs. i donno your proably rite

  • This was pre white stripes.

  • realy wicked man his druming gos perfict with jacks guitar why did they only make 3 songs?

  • Well it was only a little tiny band. You have to remember it wasn't like Jack was famous then, he was just an average guy. It was only like a garage band.

  • no, the stripes started in 97, this was released in 2000. the stripes had already released two albums.

  • i wish they did more than 3 songs i love them

  • fuck yeah, this is awesome shit. We all wish and I think jack too, that meg could drum like brian at least one time in her life^^

  • read the description. Brian is the drummer.

  • Any fan of Jack White can tell he is playing the guitar.

  • ah sorry i got them confused for goober and the peas which is the band jack drummed in

  • he also drummed in the go for a short while

  • Jack played lead guitar in The Go and in Two Star Tabernacle.

  • oh sorry, i forgot, gettin mixed up. he drummed in goober and the peas once. all those detroit bands are confusing

  • MAN! Muldoon sounds like Meg + Patricks drumming style! AWESOME!
