I can't believe it, I was opening my eyes and keeping them open to see if he is saying "bass" all the time, and when you keep them open you hear only "vase", but then if you close them to see if he says "vase" again you only hear "bass"

Random guess says it has something to do with watching him saying it. I looked away without closing my eyes; and it sounded like he was repeatedly switching between vase and base. ----- Or it has to do with the fact he said the same word, but made us think his nunciation was off; and then the closing eyes part made us simply believe it. (Goes to video to see if I'm right <3)

That is weird. I thought perhaps I had misheard the directions because all I heard was vase so I kept my eyes open the whole time. Then I watched part II for the explanation, came back to part I, switched between eyes open and closed, and heard "vase" when my eyes were open and "base" when my eyes were closed.

Interesting how the mind works.

Make sure the video is loaded and plays smoothly. The audio and video have to be in synch. Also, watch my mouth when I speak. Open and close your eyes slowly and listen carefully.

If you're not a native speaker of English, it probably won't work as well for you.

Actually, I didn't read your earlier with enough attention. So, you never heard the word "base." Well, trust me--the word base is there, in the audio. I think the interesting question is why you didn't hear it.

BTW, you have just shown that you're highly suggestible (in this particular way--it may or may not have anything to do with general hypnotic suggestibility). Being suggestible is a good thing!
