Improving electric automobile technology is the GENIUS we humans need! Hybrid vehicles that can work with ethanol, are already under way. Who say's the Earth isn't sane? Sound improvements are on their way.
p.s. That cars's cute! But a 'VW Bug' version would be better...
I dont think its a myth to make money, and its not a bad idea to stop dumping shit into the environment, but if global warming is happening its not our fault. Think about this: the famous painting of George Washington going down the icy river. That river hasnt been frozen over since 10 years after that. That's way before we were toxifying the earth.
And I agree precautions are good, but everyone acts as if its a proven fact.
Battery !!! The production & disposal of battery are very poluted !!! Periodic replacement of battery will be very very expensive (not normal car battery). All new battery-based technology have the same problem.
"Gas prices today are so high you practically need a 2nd mortgage to fill up your SUV?"
LOL. If you own an SUV I doubt the extra $40 to fill up your car is breaking your bank. High gas prices like todays affect the LOWER class not middle and upper.
Hey guys we are trying to get a million views in a year. If we do, we promise to paint Mars blue! PLEASE WATCH OUR VID as many times as you can!! lets get 1000 by midnight!
I think its great that there is an opinion for alternatives to gas engines. electric cars are great and all but the power plants needed to power all those cars would produce more pollution. but i know there are different solutions too.
35mph max, 30mi range. that's not very good. once newer (BETTER) battery technologies come out, these things will be good. but for now, they're pretty useless.
They're much better electric cars being produced that perform at a MUCH higher level than 30 mile range and 35mph speed...But they cost a lot. It won't be much longer and we will have a very good Electric vehicle for a low price and high performance.
yeah, that's usually the problem though, isn't it. it's the price that you have to pay for these vehicles, it doesn't really justify their utility. whether these vehicles have a longer range or higher max speed, they're still too expensive for what you get. perhaps, once they are more widely accepted and the market matures, their price will go down...
french do have electrical cars that have an average speed of 40 and that can lasts up to 100 miles... not to mention it looks like the regular cars... so why bother with something that obviously is not market material... US should look what Europe has to offer before trying... they obviously know more in Europe than US does with ecology and being environnemental friendly.
Hi, my name is Remington Draper and I gave my heart to the Lord Jesus Christ in the summer of 2003 because I realized that I had broken God's Commandments and that He was going to judge me by them of judgment day. The same is true for everyone reading this. The good news is God Loves You! and sent Jesus to pay the price for our sins and if your willing to repent (which means to turn away from your sin) and put your trust in the Lord Jesus only to save you, He will and give you eternal life.
hmm this car is very poor, but as far as technology in electric cars goes... why not make them look good, make a normal car like a polo but with an electric engine then people would buy them... why so ugly :S
Cool! but I have a question:What will you do the batteries after the end of there life?If this car starts to sell and thousand people have it then you must find out what you will do with the useless batteries and I don't think you can recycle all of them
Toyota has a recycling program, they give $200 for you to turn in your batteries at the end of their life, then they break them down and recycle them.
ok that guy said about the engine sound. screw that rather heir sumthing deep. than a vvvvvvv driving arround... Wonder if u toss a 302v8.. people would still look?? lol (:
Outside of NYC or some other big, flat city this thing would be a waste of time. That said, in an appropriate location it's not a bad Idea. Now to set the EcoManiacs screaming: What it needs to be usefull in Ohio where I live is a small engine, say 200cc. Yes ohio is pretty flat but finding roads with a speed limit under 35mph is not easy. Unfortunately, putting an engine in it, no matter how small, removes it's NEV classification and it gets treated as a car, with all that that includes.
Electric cars waste energy and cause more pollution than gasoline ICE's.
Why? Because you cannot cheat the laws of thermodynamics. The energy must be transported from powerplant to outlet, and with each step of the transmission line system energy is lost.
This is basic thermodynamics. It saves energy to store the fuel as close to combustion as possible.
IOW, a diesel or gasoline powered ICE with a fuel tank in the vehicle, filled up at gas stations.
in certain circumstances your right, but what about Wind power, and solar generators. Did you know that southwest Texas has enough wind blowing through its plains and straights to power the entire continent during the day alone. the real question is what could we utilize the power for at nighttime off the grid.
PS.... you are and IDIOT, how can you say such nonsense.
freestyle - the vast majority of the nation's electricity comes from coal, not wind and not solar. Were we to switch to electric cars, it would take decades for the national grid to "switch" to something more green, and the chances of coal companies just lying down in the path of wind power is the nonsense part. This isn't as easy a problem to solve as you think.
Be careful with your name calling. It makes you look like one.
Don't forget our large offpeak capacity either. And so what if it will take decades to switch the national grid? It will take decades before we even begin to switch to EVs, plenty of time to clean up the grid. EVs will only spur the switch to cleaner electricity even faster. The fact of the matter is EVERY ONE OF US HERE uses electricity everyday, but all of the sudden when we talk about EVs it becomes evil.
Basic thermodynamics also say that your typical ICE is only 20% efficient at best, whereas the electric motors can reach more than 90% efficient. Don't forget transmission losses too, whereas an electric drivetrain doesn't require a transmission b/c of good low end torque. The average efficiency of a fossiled fueled plant in the US is 33%. Again that doesn't even count hydro, wind, solar and other renewable sources. Seems to me you are conveniently ignoring certain facts to put down EVs.
if your worry about safety in lighter electrical cars, remember force = mass x acceleration. if everyone on the road drives a lighter car, the road will prob be safer
gov't should really promote lighter/compact fuel efficient cars in north america, i rarely see anyone pack 5 ppl in a car anymore
Haven't any of you seen WHO KILLED THE ELECTRIC CAR?????
This is a joke compared to the politics behind the electric car. They can, and have made much more powerful electric vehicles. that drive faster....oil IS coming to an end/ Or maybe global warming will kill us first. If we haven't ruined the environment enough to change everything to the point of near extinction, then the electric car is a FAR better a answer to our transportation needs then polution with our limited supply of oil.
Your F150 with a 5 liter V8 gets about 15 MPG in the city -- this means that if you put 15,000 miles per year on it, you spend $4,000 per year in gas @ $4.00 per gallon - or $40,000 over its 10 year life span of 150,000 miles
The Phoenix electric pick up truck, will travel that same 150,000 miles for $3,500.
Sorry 2 burst your bubble, but even if it wastes more gas, driving my truck is more "green" than buying a new vehicle. When a new vehicle is made the resulting waste from manufacture is about twice what it will pollute from actual driving. So by driving a vehicle from 1993 today, I have avoided about 15 years of excess waste. Plus it's so fucking reliable. 200,000 miles and still no problems. I know of no other vehicles besides the old American cars and Toyotas that are this reliable.
lol, you're not bursting my bubble. I agree with that logic. I have a 1996 Camry with 229,000 - runs like a dream and I always buy used. Still if you ever do have to replace it and there aren't any old reliables around -- which you know there won't be one day...
have you see the electric atom vs a ferrari (somethign)? there some power. if you want speed, well... how much money has actually been invested in electic car technology? not much as compared to gasoline. what you stated really means nothing.
That car isn't practical. Sure it saves money but look at the size (if you wanted to carry anything or anyone else in there it'd be hard to do), and the speed it reaches. To me, it seems more inconvenient than helpful.
loaning moer money to dirive an suv ?
