  • Nice demo, could you tell me the name of this tune

  • @zifirblues Hi,Thanks. This song is based on Collin James' "Let's Shout". Very cool Jumpin' Blues. Please check it out.

  • Hi!GOMENTE!!!

I was wondering, does these CC pickups(both Neck and Bridge)sounds like a typical Tele sound? or does it have some more feel of P90s? and how does the bridge sounds like with distortion?

Thanks, looking forward for your reply!!=]

    Cheers,

    Harold

  • @haroldlihk Hi,thank you for watching. Yes,I think CC Neck PU is close to P90. But it has different peak and dip from P90. Especially at Hi-mid to Lo-mid. A little bit sounds like phase-out sound. Those peak and dip realize the unique sounds like hollow body. About the bridgePU, I think it was designed for good combination with Neck PU. A little bit fat but not so unique itself. Thanks.

  • Hi. Thank you for watching the video.

I just asked a repair man to install it so I don't know the details how he did it.

But I think the dimensions were based on Lollar's template. I can tell you the dimensions for the routings if you send me your email address on Private Message.

When I tried to install it,I thought of making another pickguard. But seeing the result,I thought it was not so bad and decided that no pickguard was the best :-)

    Thanks

  • @GOMENTE

Thx for the quick reply! I bought a perspex routing template when I got the pickups so thanks but no need. Is there a hole that is just the size of the magnet plate around the pickup? It's hard to tell, it kind of looks like there is but it could be a shadow. Thanks for the advice anyway!

  • @iamhenderson Hi. Yes, It is a pentagonal hole that is almost just fitting the pickup.

There are very few margins around it (maybe only 1-2mm)

But the hole has spaces for screw.

If you want to see the large photo of this guitar, visit

    gallery.me.com/gomente#gallery

And find it in an album named Guitars. The photo is downloadable.

So you can get the original sized photo.

    Thanks

  • @GOMENTE Thanks for the link to the photos. That clears everything up. Looks like your tech routed the exact shape of the pickup's base. The tele that I currently have my CCs installed in has more of a soap sized P-90 route. They hole around the pickups doesn't look too bad at all. I may end up doing that also. Thanks again.

  • Hey Gomente. Just wondering how you installed the CC pickups without much routing of the top of your guitar. I'm looking at swapping my CCs into a pickguardless guitar body soon and I'm trying to figure out how to do it without having to route extra room around the pup to fit the magnet plate. I'm wondering if you could give me any advice? Keep up the good work!

  • @iamhenderson Sorry my reply was posted as new comment...See another comment on this page.

  • Nice job and beautiful Tele. I have a custom Bacchus T-Master that I bought in Japan and love that variety of tones i can get between the neck and the bridge pups. Thanks for the great clip. Big Brad

  • @b2c095 Thanks. You got Bacchus guitar? I have their Thinline Tele and love it.

They are very nice about wood works. Top-brand in Japanese guitar market.

    thank you so much

  • Great job making the video and great playing! Really enjoyed the arrangement. Looking forward to checking out more of your uploads. I put a set of the Lollar CC's in a "Road Worn" Tele and think they are wonderful pickups.

  • Thanks,beegal55-san.

Road worn Tele and Lollar CC are nice combination,I think.

Because relic guitars get more vibration than hard coated new guitars. Soon I will visit your channel. Thank you.

  • Nice playing, the axetrak sounds amazing ;).

  • Thanks. But sometime I feel like recording it in open-air....

  • This, as you know, I LOVE!!!! Very cool guitar with great sound Gomente!!! I love, love , love the song choice! ;) YOu rock!!

  • This,as you know,is Let's Shout :-)

My fav tune, And I know you love this song:-)

    Thank you,Suzie-san.

  • Yes I do know and I do love it! I just wish my voice was better I would sing along! lol

  • Sweet guitar - beautiful job.*****

  • Thanks. My fingers are still aching :-)

  • Your postings are few and far between, but, ohh, man, when you come across, you REALLY come across!

This is just pure rocket fuel as I try to keep awake between answering e-mails. I was trying to decide which I enjoy more -- your music or your photos. Then it hit me! Why choose! You offer both with equal generosity! My warmest wishes, ~Terry

  • Thank you Terry-san.

I was thinking about my next step.

It's not just demos. I'd like to do something with my photos and my music. But I have not got what it should be yet.

    Still thinking about it.

Thanks, I will go to see OUR friends on next year :-)

  • I've always thought your images need to be in a musical video slideshow. Alas, I have only just

completed my first such effort last weekend, and

can't give you much practical adnice But

the appeal is tremendous -- especially when the

response is generous and kind. There are many

software programs which can help make it an easy and painless process for you. Keep me posted!

Meanwhile Kath and Ray await your return to Utah!

    ~Terry

  • heey Gomente

    that the bleus. cool 5****

  • So tired...Too long to keep on playing, lol

    Thanks.

  • One question; How does the bridge pickup compare to a P-90?

  • P-90?

  • The pickups on early fifties Gibsons (Pre-Humbucker). If you're not familiar with the sound, no problem. They are basically a very fat single coil sound with much more midrange and bass than a typical single coil.

  • Ummm... I have ES-135 with Lollar P-90..but I don't know about the originals.

I think this bridge pickup is much more Teleish than P-90.

But a little bit closer to P-90,maybe.

Because the high end is rolled-off like a vintage Tele.

But the sound is Tele,I think.

    Thanks

  • Thank you, that's exactly what I was wondering :-)

  • Thanks for the vid! :-) I appreciate the message too :-)

    Great playing as always
