I don't understand how this isn't huge everywhere. I started looking into bellydance out of curiosity and came across TF, now I'm practicing all the time on my own. Why is this not being taught everywhere. Love the work you guys are doing and please, please come home and teach us!
The reason why Tribal Fusion isn't so big is because it's probably one of the hardest styles of belly dance to learn. I read in an article that TF also branches away from the 'Tribal' portion of belly dance. Some tribal fusion dancers incorporate dance interpretation into their dances that it sometimes is seen as Dance Theater. Not that there is anything wrong with it, I'm a dancer myself and it's interesting to see how different people dance.

These girls are very lovely, and they dance pretty well... but they are far from superstars!! Their are so many dancer far better than what I am seeing in these vids. I don't get it... Rachel Brice is good... but she's not the end all be all... check out

Oh GOD! This has put so much hope in me! I live in South West UK and I can't for the life of me find ANY classes that even skim NEAR Tribal Fusion! I've been living on Youtube videos for over 2 years! And I could hug to death the people that video-record the Tribal Festivals and tours. I don't know ANYBODY who has any passion for the art where I live except myself, would do anything to move to SF, thank-you ever so much for this video it means a lot :) ♥
LOL I feel your pain. I live on the central Oregon coast which is about 8 hours North of San Fran, but I also have a 3 year old son so I have yet to make it down there. (I'm so close I can hear the zills practically) I have to make due with seeing the dancers when they pass through. Having said that, I have some excellent up close footage of Zoe Jakes on my channel if you want to check it out :) Good luck to you.
It's SO great that Sam is bringing it all back here. Now she is starting to teach in the UK and many more people will be able to get (some of) the benefit of what she learned in the States without having to go out there themselves.
She looks fantastic and really is one of the best dancers out there, very very creative. Plus she has a great choice for her favourite movie.

Thank you! There are so many fusion DVD's and classes around right now, but I'm taking straight-up tribal (and flamenco, odissi and hip-hop, whatever) for like 12 years before I get my fusion going! I wanna do it right.
