serious engine fault...the smoke is excess diesel not producing any power. If he had that repaired it would produce more power and be faster. Idiots seem to think the more smoke you get from an gine the faster it is - this is incorrect. It shows an immediate problem with burnt out exhaust valves, also the ECU is worn out as it is raising the fuel pressure way beyond what it should be. So that engine sadly doesn't have long to go, before going bang. Why do people destroy engines this way!

@urbex2007 If you would happen to know something about high performance diesel engines,it is normal for them to blow black smoke upon fast acceleration.It has got bigger fuel injectors and turned up fuel pump along with ridiculously high turbo boost level among other modifications probably.The bigger boost level forces more and more air into the engine,not allowing all the fuel to be burned out completely,therefore dumping some to the exhaust.It probably has timing set advanced also.

You said it man! It's like people can't understand that more diesel means more heat, and heat destroys cylinder-heads and pistons. It's true that many high power diesels smoke but that's because their fuel delivery is not tuned right, black smoke is nothing but un-burnt fuel going to waste and unnecessarily raising the exhaust temperature. There can be some smoke for a second or two while the turbo gets the boost up but then it should clear up, there is no reason for black clouds.
