lol my lovebird is like that! when ever she is in her cage the dog comes to visit with my older sis, and the dog Zelda sniff her cage and... BAAM!! the bird bite Zelda's nose! my bird, is, Evil!! but wayyyyyy old!
Im really tired of the whole 'saliva is toxic to birds' bullshit. Yes, its toxic but pretty much only when it enters the bloodstream, like if something decides that its lunch.
does anyone know how to shut there fuckin mouths on youtube anymore?

idk what's worse, the ads or you people who bitch about shit YOU click on!
if you don't agree with what you are veiwing, than don't comment. get the fuck off the video and look up somethin you enjoy and leave other people alone about bullshit.
id be very cautious... though it is cute... even if the dog is trained to not harm the bird... it could happen accidentally. birds have hollow bones and are fragile. if the dog accidentally even misaimed his jump he couldve landed on one of the birds... that could kill it. i had a budgie who was killed by our cat in an accident, our cat was hiding under the couch and we didnt know. i just dont want anyone else to go through losing a pet to another of their pets. bacteria is also a risk :(
I have lovebirds and a chihuahua too!! It really is dangerous for them to be playing so aggressively together, but my babies are too afraid to play with each other lol
is that a black cap conure i love those bird i had 2 the first one commited suiside and the one we have now is just awesome. i have about 7 love birds i had 1 then we adopted another and they ar male and female and they mated and had 7 eggs a little more few didnt make it and we adopted some out. i have 14 birds total. (7) love birds,(2)cockatails,(1) parakeet,(1) african grey,(1) red lored amazon, (1) red belly pesiphalis, and 1 cockatoo.
personally, i don't care if the dog dies, the bird can actually kill it if it wants... its that since i'm a bird lover, i do not want to see te bird get hurt. the reason i say it can kill the dog is because if its wings are NOT clipped, it dan fly up and peck out the dogs eyes, then get it in the jugular. i hope it does, too. that will teach the owner a lesson!!!!!
Ok sure dude, thats why your giving this guy pointless advice that he prob already knows what hes doing, So stop posting advice like you know more than him, lets see your video then hot shot
Its prob supervised and safe. I wouldent leave them alone though. Their wings look clipped. That dog looks harmless and is just playing. My buddy leaves his out with his cat but they cuddle, play, and talk to eachother. So megaowl owner dont bash these people for being good trainers. If the bird was scared of the dog then he wouldent be near it right? think the owners would do this if it was dangerous ?
MegaOwlLover, you are an idiot! You stated you are gonna flag this person for animal abuse. These people are obviously good animal lovers/owners,they know and have a bond with their animals because they all get along well with each other. The fact is the dog did not hurt the bird because the owners know their animals. If I walk my dog down the road, r u going to flag me for animal abuse cause a rock could fall off the moon and hit him. You r an idiot for saying this is abuse.
this pet owner must really crazy! one day the dog is nerved and the little bird get killed. it's like the news you hear monthly: Dog accidentially kills its owners baby ... . The devil must be in you! Really.
everyone that's saying it's dangerous for the dog to be playing with a bird is a dumbass because i'm sure the owner of these pets is smart enough to know if the dog would actually attack the bird. THEY'RE PLAYING. my dog did the same exact thing when I had a lovebird. Also, I'm sure the dog is smart enough not to hurt such a fragile animal because I'm pretty sure they know they'll get in HUGE trouble if they do. so shut the hell up and stop judging.
@FlowerPower41010 The lovebird and the dog may be playing, and that's fine if the owner is certain that the dog knows its boundaries. But you failed to notice the proximity of the other bird lurking around. When the dog is bouncing around everywhere, I would not be surprised if it accidentally jumped on the other bird, breaking at least a few bones. Look at 0:53. Did you think that the dog was able to see the other bird downstairs from the back of his head through the couch before he jumped?
THIS LITTLE GAME IS DANGEROUS ,ITS LIKE ALLOWING THE OWNER OF THE LOVE BIRDS TO PLAY WITH A TIGER I BET YOU WOULD PISS JUST BEING THERE. ALWAYS RESPECT ANIMALS
Evil? Cruel? Devil? Are you fucking serious? Damn that...This was too sweet,a dog & a bird playing "hide n go seek"/"chase".awwww AT the bird chirping & running at 0:06
Anyone with eyes can see that the dog knows it's boundaries by maintaining a safe distance while playing AND every owner knows their own pets, while all these fucked up weirdos posting these sick comments like this lady has thrown a new born baby out of a window or something.
@FlowerPower41010 I had dog that loved EVERYTHING & though she was it's "mama". Hamsters, kittens, lizards, snakes you name it. We trusted her with any animal smaller than her. So I guess my opinion is biased but I know whats going on in this video. Nothing but love & affection.
To all the people who are chastising this woman: these are her pets, she knows them better than you. Also, her birds can fly and birds have a faster reaction time than dogs. So chill out.
hey, did u know that if ur dog even LICKS your lovebird, it could die? Dog and cat saliva are posionous to lovebirds. Dont mean to be a downer, just saying.
@gilledgirlies Not to mention the fact that the dog could have landed right on the other bird when he came down off the couch if he wasn't paying attention.
@amandawho that's true... but its obvious that they are having a great time! most mammals have gram-positive bacteria in their saliva and birds have gram-negative bacteria, but i can see that theyre just playing and that theyre great friends!
i hate lovebirds now,i also have 2 lovebird believe me they are the most aggressive of all birds and besides they are just 2 small.i prefer big birds are better .I'm going to buy indian ring neck this time.
I would just caution that even though this is cute, the dog may be playing but the lovebird is clearly trying to bite the dog. I think it is an accident waiting to happen
obviously this dog is just playing and means the bird no harm.....notice how he doesn't even ackowledge the other bird because that bird is not going after him and playing. You're lucky that your dog is friendly enough to play like that without wanting to bite. Yes, it is dangerous and taking a chance to have these animals together, but I had a dog who was great with my birds. He didn't show this much interest in them though.
They do seem to be having fun. You're lucky to have a dog that seems to understand that a bird is a fellow living thing and NOT a chew toy. I don't think I could bring myself to let my bird near something that could potentially kill it. As with most things in life though, it's a choice
it seems funny, but it's NOT,let's say that the animals are playing and the dog bittes the lovebird,do you know what's next?DEAD.i have a chihuahua and a lovebird too,i don't allow them to be together, when the lovebird is out of the cage, the dog is out of the room,be careful!also the lovebird can bitte the dog and loose his eyes or something...

@Lastbreath187 hahaha oh please!I don't even care what you think,my parrots and dog are like best friends,I'm just careful because I know that they can easily hurt each other when they're not supervised.
This is so reckless and irresponsible. No bird, no matter how big or small is safe around a dog, no matter how small it is. My friend's yorkie killed her palm cockatoo, my dog killed my five parakeets............. There are so many other things to do to amuse yourself. Do something else. This is horrid. How would you feel if your dog accidentally killed the bird? Would you regret being such a f****** idiot? Jeez.
Hahahaha! My dogs do this kinda stuff with my Cockatoo. My pit bull doesn't get it that she could possibly bite her nose off. But the others know first hand
The dog doesn't even need to intentionally harm the bird, it can step on it by accident or get it's saliva on the bird and when the bird goes to groom it's self, it'd ingest the saliva and the bacteria and will die. Mammal salvia is toxic to birds.

How is one able to know they can trust their dog around their bird(s) like this?

This is extremely dangerous and irresponsible.

hardly, i'm sure they do this all the time and the owner knows the dog wont eat him.... they probably grew up together!

The dog doesn't even need to intentionally harm the bird, it can step on it by accident or get it's saliva on the bird and when the bird goes to groom it's self, it'd ingest the saliva and the bacteria and will die. Mammal salvia is toxic to birds.
