  • Ride 'em girl !

  • That was a brilliant move. Was someone in the background yelling "break it" ?

  • so please don't take time... let's kick viginar yeah...

  • Once she's in the air, is there any defense for that?

  • this are youth people, only juniors, and this is only case ...

  • i think that this guy is a begginer, and why the coach let him be with sohes?

she did a very nice moove !

the camera guy is so stupid why did you scream break it?

clearly her opponent practica less then 2 months you can see buy his standing his shoes and the reason that he fell on her is that he doesnt know how to guard it!

its not about gender its about technichue and knowing the art!

  • nice job

  • Sheila once said that with all the adrenaline and focus on the match she didn't know until afterward that her opponent had shoes on. The question is had she known beforehand would she have put on pair for the match or would she keep the same strategy and remain barefoot?

  • good work girl! when she took him out she reacted very nicely

  • how can someone be more pathetic than the woman he shoots in the head with a shotgun or be more pathetic than the woman he pours gasoline on and lights on fire. it would seem to me while the woman is burning to death and turning into ashes that she would be far more pathetic. you women want a gender war? well your going to have one and every man will kill his share of women, that is my prayer

  • Nothing to be ashamed about WIN or LEARN!

  • that guy should be ashamed for being so pathetic

  • @gfhostrider You should be ashamed for being even more pathetic.

  • who is the woman?

  • well like I said BJJ is about technique not muscling someone into position and I can hold someone in my guard and make them work their ass off to try and get out of it and if they do I just pull guard again they get frusterated or tired and I take whatever they give me and finish. quite simple and obviously Gberchenko your not a BJJ fighter or you would understand

  • @MMACHMP

Also, like I said, if we do not hold back, and this is key here - if we are not concerned about hurting women, and most guys are, you stand no chance against us. Watch Youtube video called "Vanessa vs stronger guy." That's what happens most times when women try to wrestle us and we use only half our strength. I have nothing against women, they are better at certain physical tasks than us. But not fighting or wrestling, sorry if that is not PC, just stating facts.

  • @MMACHMP

Maybe you have a point, and I suppose using proper leverage sometimes a weaker person can win against stronger person and that would include typical woman vs typical man. But in a no-holds no rules fight with the man not holding back most of time man would win. I do have experience in other martial arts outside of BJJ, and from my experience it is extremely difficult to apply an effective joint lock on a stronger opponent. And what if your stronger opponent never "gets tired"?

  • @MMACHMP

I have removed some of my earlier comments. I overreacted because I am tired of all videos on Youtube and elsewhere that portray males as spineless wimps who completely can not do anything when faced with a combative female. This is far from truth, but perhaps in this case an athletic, trained female used leverage correctly and defeated a somewhat stronger guy according to rules of BJJ.

  • @MMACHMP

What do you mean hold them in your guard? What if they are a lot stronger than you and do not get tired according to the BJJ script? I am not saying strength is everything, but it is a big factor in fights and grappling and I mean no offense to females, but most of the time we have a big advantage in strength factor.

  • @MMACHMP

I must acknowledge that this young lady demonstrates great athletic skill being able to execute a jumping move like that while he was moving her neck around. I was just reacting to fact that YouTube finds it politically correct only to show bouts where females win over males while ignoring the thousands of others where the opposite occurs. No disrespect to this or other skilled female athletes out there.

  • @MMACHMP

I stand by my other comments, especially that it is very difficult (not impossible - just very difficult) to apply joint locks against someone significantly stronger than you. Also, you can not count on someone stronger to simply "get tired", some have both muscle mass and amazing endurance. Muscle counts! But more power to those able to overcome that advantage.

  • @gberchenko What does muscle use up more of ? Oxygen thats why guys with a lot of muscle gas out easily because the more muscle mass you have the more oxygen you use. and Joint locks have nothing to do with power just leverage. Believe me look at Michelle Nicolini the womans BJJ world Champion I outweigh her by 80 pounds and she was able to catch me in a submission very quickly because she has absolutely perfect technique

  • @MMACHMP

Yes, muscle uses up oxygen, but I have known plenty of muscular guys, including in martial arts I used to be in, who could go distance with anyone. Muscle mass does not equal lack of endurance. It is extremely difficult to get the leverage on someone stronger than you to move them into a joint lock, especially if he/she stiffens the muscle. Ask any cops who tried to apply such to struggling suspects who happen to be stronger. That's why they carry mace, tazers, etc.

  • @MMACHMP

As far as Nicolini, perhaps she did I was not there so I take you at your word. Look strength is not everything, but to deny that it is a big factor in grappling and other fights is to deny reality. You have to have some strength yourself to do moves effectively. Some women have such strength, many do not. Are there BJJ matches where women lose to men? Those would probably never find their way to YouTube because it is not politically correct yet, though this is starting to change.

  • @MMACHMP

One more thing, did you submit because you had to or because subconsciously or consciously you wanted to, or at the least you held back from using full power on a woman? Not saying that was the case, just throwing out possibilities? In this vid here it looks like he could have gotten out of the lock on his arm had he tried harder.

  • its grappling idiot you don't have to be stronger to win all you have to do is have better skilled at the sport what made you think she was stronger i mean look at her

  • @MegaJf16 I agree completely I got tapped by the BJJ womens world champ Michelle Nicolini and I outweigh her by almost 100 pounds and was completely defensive the whole time because her technique is perfect.

  • Comment removed

  • @gberchenko well if you knew anything about BJJ you would know its all about technique not power. I will let some fool try and muscle me around and as soon as he gets tired from working so hard I will finish him.

  • @MMACHMP

Finish him how? I worked out in many gyms, and contrary to popular opinion, from what I've seen few women have legs that are stronger than our upper bodies. I am just an average guy and I bench press more than women squat. What if the guy moves you around so much that you can not even get into position to do that move? Than you've got nothing. But keep on dreaming if that suits you.

  • @MMACHMP

Another thing, in almost all these matches the men hold back from using our full strength. If we did not hold back, most women (there are always exceptions for whom the following does not hold true) stand no chance against us and you know it.

  • Amy, not true. Like any competition, it's a matter of skill as much as strength, and she was obviously skilled to be able to pull off a nice arm bar. It had nothing to do with strength.

  • He didn't slam her--look more closely. She initiated the move, jumping up, grabbing his arm between her legs, and when they hit the ground he was in an arm bar and submitted.

  • Great technique but all looked a bit too easy.

  • That man totally won he slammed her into the ground. How on Earth did she win. I am no expert but last I checked being slammed into the ground is never a good thing. Don't make a woman mad is just a myth 2 scare men. Women can be stronger then men but its incredibly rare.

  • @44SCB He totally won??? you are No expert mate, watch him tapping at the end. she armbared him.. True though its very rare...

  • @44SCB You're not kidding that you're no expert. Shit.

  • its true. Every women can do this with man in some seconds. Women is more stronger than men now a days.

  • @AmyDivina Women is not stronger no.

  • @AmyDivina

Some women are stronger than some men nowadays, that is true, but it is still not true most of the time. So don't try that at home on a man (lol).

  • thats just fuckin crazy

  • @GodHatesPortugal LOL I can tell you have no idea what are u talking about... he was trying to control her neck, putting pressure there, but he wa s not finding the proprer balance.

  • @GodHatesPortugal and i think you should uh lets see shut up GodHatesPortugal<Me easy win and yes guys are made to be stronger than girls but as you can see in the video you guys should start showing it, geez

  • You go girl

  • nice grappling and suculen feet woman

  • guys are always thrown off fighting against a girl...specialy when she puts her ass right up in ur face...

  • How did she win when HE was on top??

  • @freespeechisataste because she was about to snap his arm you idiot

  • @breachdrummer Easy dude. Got to remember that there's still a lot of people wold are unfamiliar with submission grappling and still only think of pinning an opponent in wrestling is the only way to win. This is a teachable moment.

  • jihihih

  • The boy got shamed! LOL

  • At least she did not kicked him in the balls to defeat him.

  • This was pure crap

  • @tumsaton Why besides the fact she should have really hurt herself when she landed.

    Let alone him.

  • that was awesome!!!

  • It's a dangerous move that has resulted in broken arms before. Yet she continues to use it. Sorry, but her concern at the end is bogus. You know that move is likely to hurt someone and you continue to use it. Joke

  • Kudos the the chick. That's why jujitsu was created. Everyone stands a chance. Great form.

  • That was a solid submission. I wasn't expecting that at all.

  • Usually I would make fun of a guy who got beat by a chick but that was slick on her part... and totally caught him off guard. Kudos Chicka

  • sheila bird

  • Good video.

    Look for my flying submissions

  • nice technique on her part but look at the guy. either he had no intention of resisting or he literally knows nothing about bjj. look at how hes on his heels (wearing wrestling shoes haha) the entire time and it doesnt even look like he knows how to apply underhooks. great job on the girls part, she obviously has that move down, but it appears as if the guy was a wrestler and it was his first ever experience with bjj, or he just flat out wasnt trying. no offense

  • She used the same move to win the FILA world championships last year. That opponent did know what she was doing and Sheila still pulled it off (and broke the other girl's arm).

  • 98% of the time these types of moves won't work in competition and you'll end up in a bad position. I was down 2-0 with a minute or so left against a good grappler at the no gi pan-ams and threw a desperation flying armbar. When I didn't lock it up and we landed, he was in a solid position and was able to pass to half-guard. They do look/feel terrific when they're done successfully though.

  • Pass to side control I mean.

  • Hello eng,

Please, let me voice some dissent. This is not a traditional BJJ flying arm bar. both wrestler are moving fast in an upright position. You must be very very skilled to do that. When it was allowed in this position in judo with kani basami (to many accidents like endo/yamashita) average judoists did it most often the wag bjjoist do it today. Only very skilled guy could do it the way the magic lady threw it. So, contrary to ur opinion, the oponent is in no solid position.

  • Guys are in a fix when they fight girls..they are not as aggressive as they are when they fight against guys..whereas girls go all out...for the records,I have never lost a match to a girl..except one..I fought five matches and lost one..

  • actually it seems as the men in competition are more aggressive than the girls... they get that extra boost of testosterone that we don't have... they DON"T want to lose to a girl.

  • Unless their testosterone level is low. Then they may not be as strong. Not every man are the same biologically nor are women, so it is possible fair game for women as it is for men.

  • Beautiful sub!

  • Well she obviously shouldn't be fucked with in a street fight.

  • EddieThickSkull, guys lose to chicks all the time in grappling so I really dont know why youre making such a big deal out of it.

Erst lesen, dann mich voll labern !!!!!!!!!!

  • Das ist ein Grappling-Match. Was hat das mit "Straße" zu tun?

    Vollhorst.

  • wow. the guy thats talkin $hit, you shouldn't be talkin. i don't think your arm can handle 120+ pounds on one of your arm especially since he didn't see it coming

  • WOW killer move!!

  • Shit that was awesome .What a move.

At first it looked like she had to have hurt her back.

Must have winded her, but he came out secound best.

l would not grap this chick in a hurry .

    ,

  • what a weakling. if he had an ounce of strength he wouldnt even have fallen but slammed her into the ground. thats what rampage would have done

  • in bjj which it obviously was, you cannot powerbomb someone out of an armbar. and rampage powerbombed arona out of a triangle because he did not control his head. if he would have grabbed his head as he tried to lock it, cant lift that much weight using your neck. don't care who you are

  • Some things don't make sense. If he is wearing shoes for the match why does she walk on the mat barefoot where she can get her toes crushed.

  • she is good However I can't imagine the shame of losing to a chick. This video will be in the files of history for a very long time and people in the future will always know he lost to a girl.

  • i didnt even watch the video..but i know the chick wins based on your name

  • The flying arm bar is an extremely dangerous move and should never be attempted by amateurs. The angle and velocity of fall provides the attacker with little control over the pressure he or she is exerting and a broken arm can easily result.

  • i think that this kind of sport is about gymnastics skills and it is reason why a lot of girls wins against guy in this kind of sport, because girls are better gymnasts and they are smaller. Difficult to catch :)))

Imagine kickbox match, girl doesn´t have chance if they are both same weight and skills.

  • Shamrock is the law! But this woman is very strong!

  • nice move but if someone can catch you in a flying arm bar you have poor BJJ skills.

  • embaracing

  • irony

  • In a real fight between a woman and a man of the same weight who have same amount of training and experience, a man would win because testosterone makes a difference, a man is stronger than a woman.

  • this is true those two didn't know wat they were doing putting ur opponenet in a plum clinch while grappling they should be doing underhookd over hooks and wizzers these people are inexperienced scrubs

  • @andyruiz I disagree because of the fact that in this scenario the man could still get caught in a submission and be unable to escape. Even if the fighters know the same attacks they might not know how to defend those attacks. See my point? Anyone can get caught.

  • @jagexisthedevil i agree.

  • @andyruiz not all the time, i know girls with more testosterone then guys lol

  • @andyruiz It's not about strength, it's about technique.

  • Damn she ugly....and this is exactly why BJJ is lame

  • Bjj stress on techniques. Therefore those who are better in techniques will be the winner. It does not matter the person is a man or woman. In Robert Drysdale Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy, I am also getting bjj training under Robert Drysdale. Visit his official website, RobertDrysdale. Net

  • I love the corner, " BREAK IT!!"

  • @ItsPandatory Great sportmanship, huh?

  • Not bad for a little girl

  • a fight between 2 people is a fight no matter if is man vs woman or man vs man or woman vs woman, the winner is the better training and the most lucky not the woman or the man there is no much deference betweem two people of course we talking about the same kgr ;)

  • Comment removed

  • yes its not fight, first of all its a sport you dumbass othervise why would she let him go after she take her down?

  • huego U talk bollocks!

Throw your punch, miss and she grabs you. You'd buckle at the knees, instinctively trying to resist going down, which would actively cushion her impact. Plus, if you LOOK, she tucks her head in and lands on her back. In your hypothetical streetfight, this is the point where there's no ref, no tap-out option and you start screaming like a baby as she destroys your arm. I hope you're ambidextrous, then at least you can still feed yourself and wipe your own ass, LOSER!

  • She totally deserves her props. She's a world champ, gi and no gi. This was definitely not staged.

  • and the point of two putting two people on a mat and choking each other is...

  • lol.. now there. i totally agree with u. =D

  • hmm.. while i have no doubt the chick is very good, its only one move and one apponent. enough of these videos where students fall for the demonstration or stand there not fighting back. lets see some real vids where full contact between men and women occurs. but i doubt we'll see it though, because when it comes down to it, women (no disrespect) just arent built for combat against males. argue all u like, but the facts are there to support it.

  • I am a woman and I may not be able to kick your ass but I will nag you to death.

  • lol

  • @Fiyahmummah You've got a good point. Proverbs compares nagging women to the continual dropping of rain on a tin roof. How many marriages are destroyed by the mouths of nagging women. I'd take a hit or two any day!

  • What utter humiliation for that dude compounded by her kneeling over him after she dispatched him, claimed his masculinity, and made him her bitch.

  • what utter humliation

  • his head smacked the floor. She owned him.

  • I don't doubt this girl is good but this guy should have been able to aver power her and take her to the ground. That is why I think it was a bit of a set up.

  • thats fukin embarrassing

  • that guy sucked. damn, its hard to get a flying armbar off, so this guy had to be a complete noob in order for it to work like that since he didnt do anything to defend when it started happening. he should of known by the way his arm was being grabbed or felt her body movement to know that it was coming.

  • these flying techniques usually come so fast you really dont have time to react if they are applying it correctly. I should know.... I got caught in a flying triangle, but then again i was not very experienced.

  • the hell, someone responded to my old post in this thread.

anyway, forget about it, flying triangle are hard to accomplish in the pro level. i always try that against newbies when i was training. but against a season veteran, most of the time you will be block and if you try it chances you will be counter.

that is why in ADCC or in Grappler Quest you barely see flying arm bars.

  • AWESOME!

  • A very talented woman; also very beautiful.

  • good sub

  • It's not like she performed a flying arm bar on BJ Penn. She is just as large and more muscular than this guy. The guy looks like his training back ground is also very limited. He just a local player.

  • damnnnnnn girl!! you are a bad woman!

  • I train with Sheila regularly and was her teammate at the FILA World Championships. Believe me when I say to you that this woman is the real deal. She's known for her flying armbars.

Not many people outside of Canada had heard of her before, but I guarantee that's going to change this year.

  • is she Sheila Bird? if so, i saw the vid of her final match at FILA. it was a great finish.

  • crazy women and their unbelievable agility

  • Talk about a high rish manuevr especailly for the street . This could get you to land on your head like a self inflicted pile driver.

  • That was explosive, regardless if was performed by a man or woman. Most times you can be done in by an unexpected move, a maneuver that you've never seen before. It only takes one hold/move. Great job; no excuses....she beat him, period. I bet he watches for that one the next time he clutches. I am not a fan of the clutch, unless I am kneeing or elbowing. haha

  • nice technique, like a spider monkey!

  • HAHAHAHA that was awsome!

  • Jerezsalvi, I hate to rain on your parade but the above video is of a Jiu jitsu tournament not a beauty contest. As for, Sheila Bird, she is an extraordinarily beautiful woman inside and out and you know very well that youd suck a mules ass if it would get you a date with her.

  • Bear in mind, this small guy is anything but an elite grappler. Sheila devotes/invests a lot more time in training in BJJ than most students - she is an assistant instructor. She would get destroyed in competing with the better trained males in a MMA fight. Also, someone of BJ Penn's skills would dominate her in a BJJ match.

  • What has that got to do with the fact that this was a great move? Nobody is saying she would beat BJ Penn, but I beat she would do better than most guys out there - and BJ Penn would treat her with respect. After all, she is the Gold medal winner of the 2008 FILA World Submission Grappling Championships - which she won with a flying armbar!

  • Serious what is wrong with people. I'm a female BJJ practioner and I've beaten a couple of guys in comps too (not as sweetly as this tho lol). Especially in BJJ, more women end up competeing against and training with males because of the lack of other girls in the sport.

BJJ isn't about gender vs gender, it's about styles.

  • Different people have different types of BJJ games (prefered techniques, flexibility, size etc) that make different match ups work in different ways.

Heck even different bodies sizes work for and against people. Some of the guys I roll with simply can't get me in omos because of the size of my arms and the extreme shoulder flexibility difference.

Ignore the fact that it's a guy verses a girl, just see it as two bjj competitors going one on one and it's a great move.

  • There is a little truth to that, but remember in a MMA or a real fight power can come more into play - that's why men and women don't compete against each other at the professional level in MMA.

  • Why do you keep needing to frame this as an MMA fight, it's not. It's BJJ/Grappling.

I don't want to see a MMA fight between a guy and a girl. BJJ and grappling comps within weight classes certainly but not MMA.

  • Why, SakoYo, youre throwing a hissy fit! I must have gotten under your skin. LOL

  • Yes, marcusorilius, you hit the nail on the head; it is the technique and not the gender that makes the move effective.

  • Perhaps the fellow isn't the only male opponent of Sheila's who has left the mat defeated and with a tender elbow.

Looked as if there was genuine concern on her part about the condition of his arm. Apparently a gracious individual as well as a terrific jiu jitsu fighter.

  • And maybe, SakoYo, youre just too emotionally insecure about your masculinity to accept the fact that there are women on this planet who can make you tap.

  • Marcfj, maybe you're just to emotionally insecure about your own masculinity get up from behind your keyboard and do something in the real world. I was just stating possibilly, I wasn't denying that there are women who can beat some men. Everyone gets caught from time to time, it doesn't mean that you suck, it just means that your human and you make mistakes and you loose like everyone else. That guy in the video is still more of a man than you because he actually stepped on the mat.

  • Maybe he was just taking her lightly and didn't want to go crazy on her because she's a chick. Have you thought of that? It is easy talk shit from behind a keyboard, but generally out of etiquette when a guy rolls with a girl, he only uses about 10-20% of his power.

  • The people in this sport who go to these tournaments all know who she is and give her enough respect to go 100%. It's technique that uses the combined power of legs and arms and back (used in this move) against one elbow joint - and a woman's combined body strength beats any man's one arm strength every time. Dont you get it? Its the technique, not the gender that makes the move effective.

  • So true all her power against his 1 arm. My counter for this type of move is to not allow my arm to go straight by yielding to the weight of the opp and accelerating them to the ground (adding my own gravity and force) usually the air is blasted from them or they are stunned long enough to allow a few strikes. Never resist rigidly when a grappler gets a hold of you. BTW props to her for knowing when and how to make such an move effective and performing it with great skill.

  • I really appreciate the genuine concern the woman felt for her defeated male opponent. Kudos to her!

  • The idiots are those hwo believer anything they see. Matt Hughes even said this is not an effective move.

  • Did you read my post??? I will type slower for you... She just WON the Gold medal in the WORLD championships using this move... not effective?

  • watch?v=vEnbzIRJkU0
