well I can tell you why most Russians speak bad English: because in Soviet times schools weren't concentrated on English, most of the elder (post-war) population learnt German. Schools are now being adapted to the western teaching approaches but it will still take years to grow the population you will call "decently speaking". Leaves' Eyes is always amazing. Liv has such a beautiful voice - very unique. I don't think this song is one of the strongest from Njord but it is very catchy and and easy to song along to. Njord as a whole is an epic album and in my opinion the best they've done so far. Songs like Ragnarok and Frøya's Theme are just fantastic. Irish Rain is breath taking. And the version from At Heaven's End with Carmen is even better.
