Hi, you can find a lot of detail on the site that I originally built for my paludarium at paludarium.erikensusan.nl (unfortunately in Dutch) . I am now working on version 2 of the paludarium, which is in english. You can see it at paluweb.nl
I'm sure you've already been asked about the lighting aspect, and if you've already answered my question, feel free to point me in the right direction on finding it rather than explaining yourself again. How exactly have you achieved the dimming effect? The way you have re-created dawn, daytime, and dusk is a very cool finishing touch, one I wish to somewhat replicate myself. Any feedback is much appreciated. awesome setup..defiantly.
Dude, awesome Paludarium. Did you learn how to set this up all from that Dutch site? Where can more information be found. I've got a planted nano (which can be found on here), but I've been doing research for Palu's. Subscribed.
@Sklujan Do you mean the Dutch site paludarium dot xhd dot nl? Because that is the site I created when building this paludarium. Actually I am now thinking on a version 2 of the paludarium... Some things still not as I'd want them.
@EriksPaludarium Yeah that site. Well, is there a way you can translate the site into English, or just do an English version when you do another paludarium? I'm at a loss for information. I might as well learn some more languages just for the information. haha

its amazing video for goods! He just excels by the Paludariums which is really amazing. I am starting this site and want to know if you can tell me how to play the dawn and dusk, as you did?
@Chao5INcarnate I have been holding off on any critters on land. There is not too much space, and the moisture levels are very high (near 100% rel. humidity at night). During most days the humidity drops to 70%, but never below. I have been looking at critters on land, I have been thinking about poison frogs and south american house geckos because they live in "real" jungle at these high moisture levels (that is, if I can find them;most geckos I see are the more colorful ones that like it dryer)
@batlady2: Thank you for your kind words. Yes it is amazing to see. Every day is different. I have been planning on adding sound, but since the paludarium itself has no PC next to it I have to build a separate unit in hardware (or add an entire PC :O ) that can play sounds (and mix them) using the same controlling logic... That is quite some work on its own. As soon as I add sound, I'll surely upload a new video!
This has got to be one of the most innovative, creative, unique videos I've seen on youtube. I just wish it had sound to go with the visuals. The only other time I saw any thing like this was at the museum of natural science in San Francisco. But yours even beat the one I saw there. I've never seen any thing like this. I can't even begin to imagine how on earth you put something like that together. To have something like that in ones own home to watch every day. Wow.
@holiein: I don't. Well, not always. At night, humidity rises to a level beyond 98prc. That fogs up everything. In the morging, as humidity should drop to 70-75prc, the fans start running faster. Because there is a strip with holes below to front window, air flows past that window and the dew disappears. See paludarium.xhd.nl-slash-legebak.htm . There is a picture that shows the construction. Fans are on top (the glass of top also has a strip with holes to allow the airflow to enter)
@shortofamiracle: I control the climate by using meteo data from La Selva biostation. The fans in the hood run faster as the humidity should be lower.
I manage to control humidity between 70 (sunny day) and 99 (at night). See paluweb.nl for controldata, and check out paludarium.xhd.nl for the construction.
@shortofamiracle: Lighting started out as a "fun feature". It activates as soon as heavy rainfall is detected. The RGB LEDs also help creating a pale greenish light during heavy rainfall or thunder.
What kind of fogger do you use?

i love these, how much for a decent sized paludarium setup(without live stock, that's very subjective).
