i too pulled an accidental stupid tonight ( not implying in any way that your mistake was stupid-- mine was, though. I had good intentions :\ ) and stumbled across your video. I burned a favorite clothing item of mine by throwing it over my lampshade ( my roommate was sleeping.. im in college ) .. recalling that it was okay because i had done the same thing repeatedly last year ( i now realize last year it was a *different lamp*.. something that wouldnt burn anything. ) so you have..
Throwing clothes over a lamp is a very John Reagan thing and don't think it hasn't happened to me before ;) I haven't seen you comment in about a year so I hope all is ok, good to hear from you!
True words of wisdom as usual, my friend! Hey, is the wine kone a time traveler? Because I could have sworn that was him in one of those B&W shots with you!! This one is one of your best, buddy! And I even learned how to bring a hard drive back to life through cryogenic freezing! ;) Love ya, Man!
I know you who you are talking about man, hahaha made my night laughing here! Yes, Tony and I go way back ;) Hard drive Cryotainment never fails. Jimmy, I really wanted you to see this one because it was learning from your narrative style and mood that inspired this video and The Shining Head video as well. You've been that much of a positive influence. Thank you, love ya back!
You are still just as handsome as you were at 15 :)
You made me wonder about what kind of videos I would have been making at 15, I'm sure it would have been much different than what I do now. I use to race Homers back then so It might have been about that.
Sorry to hear/see that about your external harddrive ... the new one looks phantastic! Congratulations John!
Make a mark ... great sentence ... I think if I would be 15 I probably also would have made videos if I had a cam and YouTube ... but for sure different than now ... time changes us - or actually makes us more mature (since sometimes I am still like as a child, hehe)
As a car lover when I saw "Pininfarina, drive with style" I had to buy it :) Time tames us all. but I think that we must never lose that youthful laughter and joy of life. Thanks Sven!
Trying to make a mark in society does nothing to improve yourself except to stroke the ego. If one spends energy creating positiveness in one's self it will radiate positive energy and bring personal growth, inner peace and joy...the difference between giving a fish and teaching how to fish.
Oh it has to come from within, there is no doubt there. After that, I simply apply the simple creed of do no harm. Acceptance, awareness, and ambition are first steps to happiness, in my humble opinion.
Take care of yourself and be careful JR, that looked like it smarted!
Keep yourself relatively healthy, I might need such a "technician" in the looming post apocalyptic wastelands. If you accept the position, I promise you'll have your choice in dune buggy colors, just so long as it's "Beyond Thunderdome Taupe" or "Mad Max Maroon".
Only 2513 shopping days 'til the Mayan calendar runs out! :0)
Dam good! Youth, some people hold onto it some people loose it. "make your mark in life"
thats so f**king right on bro! I'm currently rebuilding who i am completly. I almost died at 18 and since then its like it changed me completly.. wierd. anywho i f**king love your vids john! every last one of them has so much to say. Good to see you got some data off that drive. 0:25 was great! haha
Man, congratulations and go forward in rebuilding, every passing minute is a chance to change it all around. However the mark, whenever the mark, we must make it, and make it positive. I'm glad you enjoyed this :)
Patriotaction, even while you're busy this Super Tuesday you managed to comment. Much work went into this one and it's one of the few that I am very proud of. Great words coming from you, thank you bro!
Had fun doing this one ;) We all would love to see older footage from a Brattygirl7, that's a shame Lisa. Somebody had to have filmed you at some point! Ask around :)
Andy, I'm always impressed with your musical knowledge, I can't let one slip by you :) Dead on correct with the snail. What I wonder about is the first person to eat a crab. Now that's an evil looking source of food too!
Katlitter, since way back when you were my GoodYouTuber in 2006, you were the one that inspired me to use Green Screens. You do it well girl ;) Miss you and your comments!
Johnny nice catch ;) I love BPM studio and it was one of the first programs I bought back in 2000. I tend to wind down working on little mix projects. However I find myself using Virtual Dub more. I couldn't afford the hardware for BPM though, but a second audio card has really heleped as a sound monitor.
i use my laptop as the hardware, a little (4-way) mix table and a pci-express54 soundcard plugged into my laptop. This card has 6 stereo channels, but i only need three (player A, player B and monitor). these go into my mixtable . and there i switch by button which goes to my headphones :)
i wouldnt name myself a professional, but here and there i have some events where i get payed good money for an evening making the PEOPLE DANCE :)
Julian, it's great to talk to a fellow DJ ... When I would DJ events/clubs it was so long ago that we did it with turntables and vinyl, Numark mixers, it was a great era! Since then in recent years I still do mash-ups only for the hobby, sometimes enter competitions. Making people dance is a thrill, and you must have a great collection. Very pro hardware setup :) Headphones, I bought Bose and have no complaints but I hear I am missing out in life. What headphones do you have?
They rock. Ihave a huge music collection. round about 45.000 songs (some of them i have more thatn one time.). but im not a dj for clubs/dancehalls, im often a dj for birthdayparties 30+, wedding, graduation parties and stuff. and ive started to work on a program for djs (similar to BPM) :)
Oh yeah, they always say that if you show up to a professional studio with Bose they'll throw you out ;) Sennheiser seems to be the way to go. Thank you for answering! One day I should vlog about my DJ years. Thanks for the inspiration J :)
May I add that the ending appears extremely symbolic and is what really sticks in my mind. It's like when you're young you are being driven, kind of in the back seat. When 'Reagan left the building' he merely leaves the backseat, only to return in the driving seat. Your life can go wherever you want to take it, you're in control! Age may have some drawbacks, but also some great advantages.
I thought I had implied some of the benefits that come with age, at least with growing older if not being old. But I have found some quotes that might highlight the perspective better.
Quotes to follow, of course one could focus on the downside-but that is not what you asked me about!
A man's age is something impressive, it sums up his life: maturity reached slowly and against many obstacles, illnesses cured, griefs and despairs overcome, and unconscious risks taken; maturity formed through so many desires, hopes, regrets, forgotten things, loves. A man's age represents a fine cargo of experiences and memories. ~Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Wartime Writings 1939-1944, translated from French by Norah Purcell
I was hoping you would miss the George Harrison comparison, and the cheesy 80's synth music added to it ;) I tried to contain myself ... This video was full of poking fun at Rex!
John-luckily you abandoned Tom Cruise when he started going strange and turned into Bruce Willis! But now the hair is back, I'm going to have to find a new film star to compare your looks to! I can't keep up with your image changes! It's like going out with a different film star every month! Actually, that's kinda cool ;) x x x
Shameless flirt! You even have the classic stretch and lean move going on! And the young you made me think at first of Joey Tribiani from Friends!
I'm SO glad you managed to retrieve some of the data from your hard drive (I loved seeing one of your best vintage disaster scenes from GYTBYT again!)
Holding on to the memories is great, but if you're only leaving the building to get into the driving seat of a Cadillac, then life certainly isn't over yet!
Nothing worse than watching all those little gigabytes escape and run around the room Glad you managed to round some up. Love the old school footage - I wonder if I looked like that when I used to be in the debating society - thank goodness we will never know!
Love this one. Especially how you get back in the car at the end. Ready for the drive of your life-with cheaper insurance :) x
