i like the breakdown because it prepares me more for the progression more than just abruptly stopping after the solo, which is the reason i liked the breakdown. It just has a better progression
Yeah me too, I like the breakdown but for the studio version I like it more how it is, Id rather have the breakdown only on live performances which is where you can enjoy it the "most".
if you listen to the other version of single on youtube you can hear the bass alot better and you can appreciate it much more as well. in this recording you can barely hear the bass so i can understand why someone would not think its important.
you know tom isnt the only person in the band. He's pretty good, but Andrew and FRANK really complete the band. This wouldn't have worked if other people were in the band
yeah i know, but thom makes the songs, PLUS hes still a drummer, and his guitar playing is phenomenal so bass is no big deal to him. he could be a band all himself, but yeah, they're awesome.
i never said they were the same, its just easier on the fingers to tranfer to a bass. from a 6 stringed guitar to a (most likely) 4 string bass will be easy, i've done it so i can say so
Bass is the most important instrument but most people think it's useless because you can't even hear it through ipod headphones, but live you can physically feel the bass and it sets the tone for the song.
what did you use to record this? (sorry if this has been answered before, but whenever I go to shows I can't get anything to record with how loud everything is)
so, i watched this video. then after it was over. when he blew a kiss to the crowd. i realized i was at this show. and literally right behind the guy who filmed this.
i have a feeling that this might be one of my favorite songs on the album... and if they can construct songs without as much singing kinda like Quarter Past, then this is definitely gonna be the fucking best CD ever... hopefully they get big after this CD so i can prove to everyone how fucking amazing they are...
that is one sick break down, I love how tfot is one of the few bands that do break downs and make each one unique. most bands just throw in a slow chugging section in, but tfot with change it up and make it a weird time sig, or use really fucking cool syncopation between the guitar/bass and drums.

ummm not trying to be smart like u but ummm ahvent u seen the videos where there recording new songs and ive seen them or heard wat ever recording this song in a video sooooooo plus they are already performing new songs in good qaulity for hurly studios
They played one new untitled song in the Hurley sessions. That's the only new song recorded there, because it was simply a session, it's not where the band is recording the album.
The album was recorded at Studio Litho in Seattle with Terry Date as the producer. Last we heard the record was in the mixing stage. They've only demo'd three new songs so far with decent quality: Straight Jacket Keelhauled, the Vomiting Winter, and the Untitled Hurley song.
my favorite band..why? because they play what they like. obviously they don't conform to any genre or scene. I'm looking forward to the new cd and seeing them a 3rd time!!
I love how Frank and Thomas both move in unison for the end. Like they both lift their legs (coincidentally like female dogs) to finish off the song. Good stuff.
It dependent upon the song. Back during the recordings of the self-titled and Doppelganger, he only used the DC because his inventory was smaller. But now he'll use different songs depending upon the style and the sound he's looking for. Most bands will record through with 3 or 4 different guitar before settling on one so I'm sure it'll be something similar.
the lighting in this video i think really fits the song...bouncy yellow, and flashing for odd time signature, the darker colours for the slower, heavier parts nd the pure white on thomas towards the end really points u to his frontmanship
I think this is great that the fall of troy has broadened their horizons to the things they create. listening to them when they first came out compared to now shows their greatness expanding. they were already a great musical band with great qualities even in their worse songs. now the quality of there music is cleaner and have the skill to do whatever they want with it...its great.
WOAH EVERYONE NOW WAIT! IF YOU ARE A MUSICIAN WOULDNT YOU WANT TO BE ABLE TO EXPAND AND DO MANY THINGS? NOT BE LIMITED TO ONE IDEA? WHEN THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS? IF YOU ARE CAPABLE OF CREATING ART. DO NOT PASS UP THAT OPPURTUNITY OR PRIVELEGE. NOW DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHY THE FALL OF TROY PLAYS DIFFERENT SOUNDING MUSIC? BECAUSE THEY FUCKING CAN!
Who wants to hold back the power you dont even know is inside of you?
