There's different methods of teaching the "down" command. You can use a treat & hold it on the floor in front of them. This should make them get in the "down" position. When they do, you say "Down!" & give them the treat.
We taught Mochi the "sit" command first & then "stay." When they're "staying" you grab their 2 front paws, pull them forward & force them in the down position. As you're doing this, you say "down!" & then "Good boy" with lots of affection. Later you can add hand signals.
@heartsickslayer Haha, it takes hard work! But keep at it and it will pay off. Mochi was a pound puppy we got at about 11 weeks and we started training right away. The Sit, Stay, Down commands are great foundations for future training.
Your husky seems very happy even with all the training your having him do. but its still showing the husky disobaying howl. does he still do this?
