This is not a trick, it is a card force which is one possible piece of a trick. You can either force a card or locate a legitimately chosen random card. Then there is showmanship with a "reveal". The point is you know their card before they do which could set up any number of astonishing reveals. I've used this exact force numerous times and no body caught on, just don't use it every trick!

i dont think its about the spectator choosing it as such, more that from the spectator having cut the cards in the way that they have, and you then say they have "chosen" that one. They dont have to choose it as you are going through and finding the first down facing card, but by cutting it themselves earlier have chosen it.
