  • This version stopped me dead in my tracks. Phenomenal.

  • keep clicking @ 3:O4 it is a fucking laugh.

  • How do you take a three minute songs and turn it into a 15 minute songs? Let Sinead O Connor sing it.

  • Just wonderful, brings tears to the eyes. Never before heard it sung so movingly.

  • Her voice transports me back into the 1600s. I can imagine Molly's sad life story.

  • Good for her! She sings this sad song with feal feeling

  • lose the dike hair cut she use to be hot

  • @acesandeights65 hahahahahaha jesus christ when i read that i cracked up hahahaha

  • Bellissimo

  • Boring!!!

  • This is a spine tingling version by a master who knows how to give true respect to a song and brings out the raw emotions that were intended for such a beautiful song. She brings Molly back to life.

  • Under my point of view, anyone, The Dublin Ramblers for example.

    regards.

  • Horrible version, destroyed a beautyful song

  • @chacho1969 So, who would you suggest sings it better?

  • Je préfére la version plus entrainante mais j'avou que la chanteuse chante YPER bien ! :D ! ^_^

  • Amazing version of that old song.

  • What a lovely song, can watch it over and over again.

  • MY rosemary does the best ,haunting version of it ,she is from DUBLIN were the girls are indeed so pretty ...

  • Sinead's performance of this song brings it alive like no other. Can't you just see Molly and her parents, poor, simple, humble people, living their lives in a time long ago. So few words say so much.....'and that was the end of sweet Molly Malone'......gives me a catch in my throat every time. Sinead elevates what I used to think of as a simple sort of ditty or kids song to one in a class with songs like 'Long Black Veil'. This is more than a singer singing a song, it' an artist at work.

  • what year was this great great tune sung by sinead

  • Brilliant. She turns a traditional pub song into a dirge, almost a prayer.

  • Such a clear and beautiful voice - thank you

  • best version ever by far

  • The one, the best woman voice in XX Century, totally emotional.

  • Bella versione!

  • I was wondering why people were singing this tragic song so cheerfully, seemingly oblivious to the pain expressed in it. I'm glad that someone with a far better voice (and far prettier than myself) thought so too, and was able to do justice to the song. This is not just a good rendition. It's the only one that makes sense. Thank you!

  • S O'C does such a great job on everything she sings.

  • Thnx, Quite a different version well done.

  • This is the most glorious version of "Cockles and Mussels" that I've ever heard. This, to my mind, is how the song should always be sung, with passion and pity, and I absolutely love it. The standing ovation Sinead receives at the end of her performance is thoroughly deserved. The accompaniment is perfect, too. Many thanks to Aaron for drawing my attention to such a gem.

  • it chills me everytime i hear it ,it is heavenly perfect

  • BEAUTIFUL.......!!!!!!!

  • Sweet Molly Malone :)

  • Best version of this song I've ever heard - and I grew up hearing this song almost daily.

  • What the hell is she wearing and what the hell is this song about really?

  • Wonderful.

  • she looks horrible

  • ridiculous

  • what do you mean?

what are you talking about ?

  • Waauw, she's a warrior queen , luvya

  • Sinead is amazing, I never knew Molly Mallone could be sung so beautiful. Thank you for posting.

  • she put the life back into that song

  • I'm from Barcelona, and I listened this beautiful song in an Irish pub.......something fantastic, I love it.

  • She is a diva! She is one of the greatest singers of her time.

  • @wlinder19 I agree, her voice is wonderful

  • @wlinder19 ... she is one of the greatest singer of all time... ;)

  • There are few vocalists who can communicate genuine emotion in such a raw and primal form without sounding overly sentimental or forced in any way. Janis Joplin was one such singer. One can tell just from hearing her sing that she hurt in a very deep way. Sinead O'Connor is another such singer.

  • it is so beautiful it breaks your heart in a thousand places ...bless Eire

  • Great song + great performance = God like? ;-)

  • I sing this to my daughters, it is such a moving portrait of old Eire, Jah bless you Sinead. Give thanks and praise to the most high...............and this coming from a drunk, and professed athiest! JaH!

  • Oh, dont worry about being a ( professed) aethiest. God still believes in you. LOL

I used to sing this to my children also.

They will probably sing it to theirs, I hope.

Kind regards from a Dublin Born girl, who left a LONG time ago.

  • the problem i have with God is that he put 'bow to the hardest bastard in the room' right there in the core programming, and then kept playing 'lets you fight with him' between every last one of the angels.

Ah, don't get me started on Himself.

    h.

  • Interesting opinion. I´d like to hear more.

  • Now that she is on meds there is something vacant about her.

  • I listened to many versions of this very moving and well written song and many belt it out like it's a loud pub song and it's one of deep feeling and spirit. Sinead manifests this so movingly, like none other. She does a shortened version here. I was very dissappointed when her version was removed about a month ago. I'm glad to find this but must turn volume up to highest setting why? Can you repost this with better audio strength? Bless you for posting this!

  • Thanks for you comment I've reposted with the volume increased, afraid I cant increase it any more.

  • i want that concert! :(

    thank u!!

  • It's on DVD
