  • if you need help building a reactable just use our forum on the website on my profile. One of our Member is working on a reactable.

  • hi

where i can find the help for building a own low tech reactable?

  • I had no idea the reactable could be replicated in the home. if an easier to understand software version were released so people could hok up a webcam and print out some figures, maby use a moniter to track some of the effects it would be so popular. I figured reactable was crazy expensive hardware that no normal (poor, me) person could ever afford!

  • 2 friends and i installed reactavision soft ware and within a day had a feducial mobile that played ambient music and in a couple more days a glass top 4 track loop mixing desk with chess pieces for controls, the midi aspect of it is a head fuck if not for my blind m8 Jimmy who has been screwing with midi since 486s couldnt have done it... great stuff... but not smart enought to point a camera at ourselvs doing. it...

  • Check...also.....MIDIHANDS.....from italy......playin..the table...with hands...no..cubes.!

    thx...to the Reactable....Crew.......

    The Future Is Now!!!!

  • wow! i agree with uglysack, you definitely are into it, so keep the cool! great job! :)

  • can you tell me how you installed this reactable system to your pc?

  • a huevo!!!

  • respect.

  • simple yet very cool!!!

  • Damn you are on-to-it.... awesome... I hope you take it further....

  • I tried this a little while ago... got reacTIVISION working on my Mac, no problem. It was picking up the sheet of ficudial symbols I had printed out.

I played around a bit but I don't have it in me to write the synth part of it.

And since the MTG guys wish to keep their synth component and flashy graphics a secret, I'd be grateful if you were to release the source for whatever you cook up. :)

  • man, thats soo totally awesome!!

i'm looking forward to see your tutorial and to download the software u made :)

  • why did you decide to write your own software instead of using something that is already buikt like pd or supercollider?

  • it was the fastest way, because i didn't want to look through all the manuals ^^ but for now it seems to me that I should do. An own synthesizer was a bit to much. It was already working, but the synthie couldn't deal with many tracks

  • wow i checked on suppercollider, and that looks freakin cool stuff, in combination with reacvision it would be awesome. I tried out reacvision myself today and it works like a sharm, even with a cheap ass webcam :)

  • As I already mentioned in the vid description, I created my own program, which receives TUIO messages, processes them and then plays music.

And so I'm coding now my own synthesizer to build a "real" reacTable. But it's taking much more time than I expected... ^^

  • I'm much more frustrated by the programming than the construction...you said it took you 40 minutes? I've been trying for a week now...and I still haven't figured out how to get sound out of my sound app (reaktor). did you use midi or TUIO?

  • Next week there's no school. I'm going to build a real reacTable, beacuse in the vid it's just a big piece of paper.

So due to the huge interest I will take some fotos, amke some vids and put them together to a tutorial. So stay tuned ;)

  • Can yo utell me wich tools you used? Im working for a month on this and didnt got any sound out of it.

  • Please give a tutorial. I've been try'n to get the whole midi connection thing to work, and i can't figure it out!

  • i am planing to build a own reactable with a friend - are you allready finished with yours?
