  • Ever heard of a film called the outpost?

  • @starcobra123 Haha yes, you should be asking the producers of 'Outpost' "Ever heard of a film called The Soldier?"

  • It's the best amateur production I have ever seen.

Ps: I come from a Polish

  • Just read 4th Reich facebook page and he said 2012 release hopefully right before the oscars. So pumped, thumbs up so people know when its coming out.

  • this is an orsum and im surprised i cant find more of ur stuff because it looks like uv had a fair bit of practice. whoevers involved stick 2gether and keep making films

  • Can't wait to see the feature-length version of this.

  • The 4th reich is similar to the nazi zombies storyline from cod world at war

  • and are most of these other comments plants? they seem like plants, not just normal people who watched it. if they are thats kinda pathetic. but maybe im wrong

  • oy... sorry, im glad this got picked up for fourth reich, but this is crap dude. even for two days. very badly shot

  • hahaa ! that was awesome !! i just became a film student this year and i am hoping to make something like this... with zombies, i have the means and the know how just need a little funding very good job ! :D

  • In the 4th reich, is Tom Savini going to work on zombie makeup or he will be simply acting?

  • Nightmares for life... But awesome nonetheless!!! Great job.

  • fuckinn awesome !

  • Kill the zombies

  • i noticed the cable going along the skirting at the beginning, not sure if that was available in the 40's...

  • this really is absolutely brilliant. i cant wait for the The 4th Reich to come out.

  • did you make this for your school or for a competition?

    what camera did you use?

im f***ing impressed nice job wish I could make movies like this already;) great job

  • This video freaked me out ! it is a good movie. Can you tell me were did you download the sounds from please give me a link cuz my sounds suck and than my hoal movie sucks . Thank you

  • 4th Reich should be fun.. Sean pertwee is so underrated!

  • zombies?

  • Throbbin87 is right. The 4th riech does sound very much like Outpost.

  • COD:WAW Nazi zombies much?

Love how the axe and knife where just placed on the zombie's. Exactly how were there so many people needed to make this film lol

Get a handful of people running through a forest lol

It seems with making short films and photography its not about the quality of what you do its who watches/views it...

  • the 4th reich?? Sounds a bit like Outpost to me.....if you have never seen, your missing a LOT!!

  • @throbbin87

two of my great loves, nazis and zombies - can't go wrong combining them in my book

    i hope you have seen:

    DEAD SNOW

the norwegians did this zombie genre some justice and of course the nazi zombie genre combo is emerging as its own branch of Romero's tree, or should i say Jamaica's tree (you know, all that voodoo zombie stuff in the caribbean that really started the genre; romero is actually secondary, but the father of the modern zombie flick and an improvement...

  • @glorp896.....Dead Snow was good, me and group of friends really enjpyed it. Did you by chance see Outpost??

  • @throb

just read a few horror mag reviews, saw the trailer and then put it into my netflix queue

the reason many fans of this genre miss out is because its not popular and marketed enough, and of course this kind of film, NO MATTER HOW GOOD, will rarely get great scores on ratings and reviews - heavy metal music is similar, another genre of entertainment seen as stupid from the start, and sure, there is plenty of stupid stuff in these forms of entertainment - but some of us see more to it...

  • very well done

  • It was good but it shouldn't have taken 3/4 of the movie to figure out what was going on. I lve the zombies though.

  • haha trash effekts, nazi panzer

  • At the beginning, when he was getting injected, I didn't really get into it. It was all black and white, not really any sound... But once he started screaming? You got my attention.

There are two kinds of movies I like... WWII movies, and Zombie movies..

I rate this movie 5 stars, and I cannot wait until the 4th Reich comes out.

I hope it comes out in America as well!

  • @UndiscoveredThoughts

a saving private ryan DAWN OF THE DEAD combo, i'm salivating thinking about it... i believe the DAWN OF THE DEAD (2004 remake) had the largest budget so far for this genre, and its my favorite zombie flick...

i agree with you, WWII and zombies - great combo for me... the guy Jason Flemyng, who stars in this 4TH REICH film to come has my exact birthday/year... so thats a neato coincidence also... and even more weird is we could maybe pass for brothers...

  • When will The 4th Reich come out?

  • The 4th Reich is set to start shooting on the 6th June 2010 for an early 2011 release.

  • @shaunrobertsmith78 lol, 6th june, convenient date xD

  • @shaunrobertsmith78 production will begin early 2011

  • @damien28173 or was wiki wrong again?

  • @RareMusik Bitch, the Fourth Reich is HERE!

  • @RareMusik Nothing confirmed yet, we just know that production started in 2011 and the movie will also probably released in 2011...

  • I meet S.R.Smith at the Fantasy Horror Award in Orvieto here in Italy! I really cannot wait for the 4th reich!!

  • awesome short, i cant wait until 4th Reich comes out!

  • Yes i get it....i think. There were many rumors during and after the war that the Nazis had been trying to create an unstopable soldier, a soldier neither alive or dead, in effect Nazi zombies. They were using a combination of science and the occult. Quite a few decent films...Shock Waves, Dead Snow, Outpost.... to name three have been made on this subject. All three are worth watching.....

  • But that was all fake XD The Germans did had expermients of tecnology advancements because they were years ahead of the allies in terms of tecnology many of wich captured after the war but nothing of that kind of uber soldiers D

  • pretty cool zombies... special FX were ok but it needs more of a plot to it

  • i didnt get it all i understand was that the nazis were pretty fucked people cause they actually say that the nazi did that kind of shit

  • Very atmospheric, and the disorienting POV shots were spot-on...well done!

  • I Did Not Understand This Video.

    Nice Try Though.

    Nice Acting But Poor Plot.

  • Nice music choice and well edited, lacking in plot but the acting made up for it

  • ...and it's not clear what is happening at the beginning. Nearly 2min of boring exposition that doesn't work. The opening soldier is not recognizable as the protagonist.

  • I agree with haunter112. Insufficent plot, too dark and no ending. Not enough thought put into the story for something that runs 10min.

  • I'm not sure I understand this short film.

    1. British soldier wakes up.

    2. British Soldier discovers Nazi zombie experiment.

    3. British soldier gets killed by zombies.

Is that it? Special effects and cinematography mean nothing if there is no plot. Am I missing something here? This is 10 minutes of great looking development that leads nowhere. Isn't a film... even a SHORT film... suppose to have a story of some kind? The film looks great but without a plot... it fails.

  • If you dont like it, dont watch it....

It is wonderful.... an excellent concept, makes the imagination burn with wonder

  • @Sokanastenev How are we going to find out if we like it or not if we dont watch the video? I'm sure the authors want not only to hear praises, but also criticism.

  • @Punkrockaddicted its been a very long time since I commented here. You must have no life to find a comment several months old. lmao

  • great job!

  • I have no idea why it took me so long to find this Shaun... Brett Ashworth just sent me the link. DAMN THIS IS GREAT! You deserve ALL the accolades and praise you got mate. And as an Actor, I gotta give props out to all of the Actors in your film. Clayton Fussel is brilliant!

  • sadistic

  • interesting, interesting, music greatly matched what was happening, too bad it's so short, would enjoy a bit more

  • This is a GREAT short, I'm just wondering why the germans are always the ones that end up making zombies in movies.

Tha Japanese tested on MILLIONS of innocent Chinese and killed more people in asia than the holocaust (not to mention the rapes and horrid treatment of POWs) yet why do we forgive them their transgresions and make the Germans live every day in memory of their own?

  • You're so right. That's why I hated the concept of inglourious basterds.

  • would be intriguing to see something about that then wouldn't it

  • bravo bravo, nice effects nice props nice story line it kinda reminds me of nazi zombies on call of duty world at war. u should make more films and can u make a world war 1 movie for me? anyway keep up the good work. =]

  • id only say wen he ran outt of ammo wud of been usful if he had a bayonet on the rifle lol nice film tho ! 5*

  • a few minor flaws (audio pops mostly) overall, it deserved the awards, great short. kind of a cross between boyle and raimi.

  • very good, only the ending, WTF bit stupid, but surely good editing en filming

  • very good. cant wait to see the next one your doing. best luck to ya

  • Its awesome OMG

  • good work

  • lol this is a brilliant peice of work...great costumes great storyline...keeps you very tense...hopfully some of my film work will come out as good as this...if it does then i know ill be ok lol...good work tho 10/10

  • where did you get the costumes from?

  • Hey man I would really love to see a longer version of this movie.

  • wow, i have to say, your film has really inspired me.

  • nice, how much did it take to make this?

  • £500 and it took 46 hours straight from start to finish. Thanks for your comment, Im glad you like it.

  • pretty good, but how did he turn or had he been bitten earlier?

  • It tells you during the cine footage sequence at the beginning. He is injected.

  • ah, i did not realise, so was he a nazi or allied all along? by the way i just saw the budget, pretty good now = immense

  • He was tested on, during the cine footage The Soldier is injected, which turns hims.

  • cool, it is really good for such a budget, any new projects in the pipeline?

  • awsome !!!!!!!!

  • omfg this is awsome this just freaken awsome i would rate this a 500000000000000000/5000000000000000000

  • Nice the vid i saw before this great piece of work was horrible NICE FILM MAKE MORE

  • Saw your post on Zombie Friends....

    Nice Work,Very well done.

  • I commented on this over 8 months ago..good to see you now have the funding for a full length feature of this film. I remember watching Outpost and thinking..man,they just might have grabbed that idea straight from "The Soldier". Good to see you enjoying success. I think you would do the zombie genre proud..we desperately need some who can carry the torch. Take care Shaun

  • lol I love your username!

  • Hi Shaun - It's the Green Thumb man, also Shaun (!!!) How freaky is that????

Congrats on putting it all together.. captivated the mind.

    Good luck for the future.

    All the best

    Shaun

  • Great looking film, good job!

  • This German national anthem is new. Not from WW1.

  • excellent work

  • next Resident evil film right here. perfect

  • Wow this is great. I myself am triying to do something along the lines of WWII zombies; although, it's just starting out in a comic I'm drawing. But once again great job, you guys deserved that award.

  • I have been following the progress of Outpost since it began, production started in early 2006, you can find out info on Google.

  • Well in actual fact, The Soldier started as an idea I had back in 1998, this turned into 'AWOL to horror', which led to the sequel 'The Twitching Dead'. The Soldier is a taster of the feature that is on the cards, very different from Outpost a 'more in-depth' story.

  • Outpost???

  • This film was produced in September/October 2007. We believe that Outpost was directly taken from our short.

  • Wow... VERY good... i too second the idea of the full length feature... great use of sound as well..... 46 hrs???? Unbelievable! Speak soon.. Cheers. Alan Gold.

  • Go Clayton!

  • scary shitt man! :O

  • that was a very good film. good story and locations. Bravo

  • Fantastic directing, great storyline, very realistic and all in 48hours - can't wait to see the full length feature!!

  • Really enjoyed this, good effort lads, looking forward to the feature length.

  • shit that looks scary as fuck

  • interesting. video. but why the hell would u leave a rifle for an axe. if the rifle ran out of ammo they could've shown that in the scene where the three guys were running towards him, when he was about to shoot the last one he runs out of ammo and the guy just runs pass him, I recon that would ve explained the axe being picked up afterwards. Very well done video. Ive been looking for props for myself to make a soldier movie, its hard getting em. cheer. 4 stars out of 5.

  • he would leave it beacuse they dont heve the britsh ammo in the german army.

  • I agree with you that in germany they didnt have british ammo. But my point is that if he had ran out of ammo, it should show the audience that the gun was empty somehow. Self explanatory scenes are necessary, there should not be doubts, what so ever. its an exelent movie though.

  • i agree with that. thanks for explaining.

  • hey u know how i said they did not have ammo that were british, they did the 9mm.

  • Wish I could get my hands on some war props like these, lol

Great little film. One of the best shorts I've seen on this sit.

  • This has raised my expectations over short films

  • shit thats creepy

  • it was different, i really liked it. Great picture, sound quality and obviously directing, well done.

  • That was quite a twist of WW2/horror I say, but cool! And gory... 5/5 stars!

  • lmao the axe throw into the face..nice

  • i was screaming i never realy watch things like this only cp and rs videos

  • Awesome short! I don't remember the last time I jumped from a movie (especially one on youtube lol) like I did at the 7:40 mark!

  • I go to the same school as Shane Rippin and I hang round with him at lunch time.

The film was good better than other short films I have seen before.

  • wow amazing!! i give it 2 thumbs up!!

  • well done !!

  • dvd release of diary of the dead that is

  • You should enter this into that competition where george romero views your home made zombie movies then puts one on the official dvd release go to his myspace page for info

  • Nice! Lol, 8.02!!!

  • Decent. Fairly amateur at times but given the time constraints you obviously can't mull over and perfect it. The only major turn off for me is what appears to be an original idea is really just a rehashed mix of two some what tired genres (war, WWII in particular, and zombie movies). Didn't work for me at all, but anyway...

  • just read my post back - i didnt mean tips for the makers of this movie - just generally - ie. war films on a tight budget

  • some good shots, especially inside the complex where he picks up the axe, - another cool vid to checkout is 'Bloody Omaha with Richard Hammond' - its Dday on a tiny budget! well worth a watch for some tips:)

  • Great short film, well made

  • that was awesome sound and everything spot on better than most of the crap you see in the cinemas these days.

  • jdsio

  • yes please what effects was used?

  • plz plz tell me what effects you use!

  • What makes it scary is this actua11y happened, a disease broke out and everyone went mad and dyed a s1ow and painfu11 death....

  • you are stupid you are the type of people who beleive that gw planned 9/11. IDIOTS

  • gw? is that a pet name for Bush?

  • Someone please enlighten me - How did it end? Was he infected all along or was he bit by the zombie?

  • at the start, you see him being injected. then he blacks out and wakes up in the forest. he then walks for a while and ends up in the place where he was injected and stuff at, and at the end he becomes one of the zombies.

  • Damn it, I missed that the first time around. Thanks!

  • excellent effects -

  • dont have nightmares!

  • Wow that was awesome! The acting wasn't anything out of the ordinary but it was a truly good short film and deserves every 5 star on this website =D

  • top stuff!! hope you make it big!we have all seen a lot worse made by so-called professionals. best wishes!

  • Reminded me of the very early Doom stuff. Thanks.

  • sorry my bad just went on yourr home page and saw u already are

  • u should make a full length one onto dvd or something. i would surely but it. that was amazing.

  • yuk... that british guy watching the movie, yuk.... best make up face i've ever seen..yuk cool

  • lol what an idiot he shot 2 guys who were running from that direction and he continued xD

    brilliant stuff.

  • honestly this is a really great short movie.. specially for an amature artist.. keep it up man you'll go places.. sounds make the movie.. great editing aswell.. GOOD WORK! 5*

  • brilliant, pretty scary

  • spooky :o

good filming, looking forward to a good war/horror movie :D

  • Excellent cinematography. Sourcing authentic weapons and uniforms is half the battle - so to speak. For some reason it has a Lee Marvin's 'Big Red One' feel about it. Good work soldier!

  • someone in hollywood sign this guy up he could make one good scary ass film( but leave out the normal hollywood crap)

  • that was pritty cool :D

  • best short film ever!

  • Cool short film!

  • BRILLIANT

  • Ouch, no AAAH, axe on thrown on someones forehead! :O

    Very nice acting!

  • Nice axe throwing action
