  • Wow, BarryDennen12... focus on the point! LOL! A much deserved induction. No members were replacable.

  • Yep, I agree. You could never have replaced JP Jones. He not only provided outstanding, grooving, and rocking bass, but keyboards, and great mandolin playing. A true jack of all trades he is, and by no means was he replaceable.

  • Im just getting into Zeppelin. So sorry for asking but did Plant and page not get along with Jones? Why did he say that?

  • John Paul Jones is now my favorite human being :)

  • Heh, Jason seems very 'close' to his sister .... hmmm, I bet those two fuck.

  • @BarryDennen12 You disgust me.

  • What year is this.

  • @LittleElf101 February of 1995!! I had my VCR on because one of my attorneys (Robert Lind) told me that his sister back east had heard Led Zeppelin on TV mentioning my name and called him in Los Angeles to tell me to tape Led Zeppelins Hall of Fame Induction Speech.

  • they are bored, they don't wont tobe there

  • Problem is why was not ZEPPELIN in the original induction class? I mean everygroup prior wishes the ones before wishes they could go back in time to userp their legend! Greatest Band EVER

  • who the hell clicks on this and then dislikes it???

  • (BoB) Took his prize for on his own.

  • always felt bad for Jason. Bonzo is the wild man of rock and roll myth, but he was Jason's DAD...very sad.

  • Coverdale-Page blows away anything Plant has done since Zep...

  • Plant shoulda thanked Steve Marriot for providing the blueprint for his blues-drenched howling (check out "You Need Love" by the Small Faces), and the crunch of Page's guitar....

  • I will take the rock hall seriously when Deep Purple are inducted.

Having said that, Madonna already has..its the fucking twilight zone when that piece of shit gets inducted ahead of Ritchie Blackmore. Mark Knopfler also. Deep Purple and Dire Straits are long overdue.

  • @Ali74 Yeah, no shit. Just for Smoke on the Water, period. Only the most widely played and hummed riff in history.

  • Gotta give huge props to JPJones for speaking up for all friends blown off by their more successful peers! JPJ may have been the one guy Zeppelin could have replaced, but

he sure played one hell of a bass and keyboards. He seemed like the one regulated guy.

Plant seems smart for a lead man.

  • @TheRealCritique He wasn't replaceable! He did play a mean bass and keyboards, But I think He did a lot of songwriting. And he had a way of drawing the music together so tightly that just made it Zeppelin! Cheers to John Paul Jones!

  • @TheRealCritique What? You couldn't have replaced Jonesy...he was the mastermind behind some of their best songs!

  • @TheRealCritique they cant replace JPJ he was too good

  • @TheRealCritique

he couldnt be replaced within led zeppelin,

he was the only composer within the group he was the one within the group who understood everything about the way a song should be build. without JPJ all the songs of led zeppelin would be totally different or wouldnt exist at all.

they all were irreplacable, but especially Jimmy and JPJ since they formed the backbone for every song they made

  • Dannycruzz honest said that because this was when page and plant went out on tour and to everyone's bafflement didn't go with John Paul Jones. So he commented on it!

  • i dont get it why did John say "thank you my friends for finally remembering my phone number"?

  • @DannyCruzz Because one year earlier Plant and Page reunited for some "Led Zeppelin" concerts and Jones was not even told of the reunion!

  • thanks for finally remembering my phone number

  • lol robert plants like was he talking about us 4:05

  • Funny how the great English Wave of bands in the 60s 70s was so influenced by American blues and the American music scene.

  • Zoe Bonham is fuckin hoooot

  • Watch what Robert does when J.P.J. says about the phone number....Robert is pissed! Watch his tongue action and mouth, it hit a nerve big time!!!I love it!!! If I were the bass and foundation holder of the group espeacially during IN THROUGH THE OUT DOOR, I would have said the same thing about my band!!! HATS OFF TO JOHN PAUL JONES!!!!!!!!! My Man!!!!! You stand up!!!!!!! The Peace Keeper in the band!!!!!!!

  • All shut up. me bored already...Come off your high horse Mr. Plant. I will always be the # 1 LES ZEPPELIN FAN, look at my basement it is a shrine for the mighty Zep. Robert pisses me off....give JIMMY PAGE the master, his props!! You would still be a struggling/homeless musician if you did not meet JIMMY PAGE. J.P. hitted on the lick..My phone #? Robert was pissed as licked his lips..Watch! Then he tapped around his chest and hips for a gun I guess?! J.P. said it right on time YOU GO J.P.J.!!

  • How can they call it the rock n roll hall of fame, when Deep Purple has not be inducted??? I have no respect for them. Think about it,.. Madonna... fucking Madonna has been inducted, but not Deep Purple. It's a disgrace. Even if they get inducted I will still not respect the "Rock n roll" hall of fame for using over 25 years.

    Thank you.

    PS... Zeppelin fucking kills!

  • Just look at 3:42-44 where JPJ gets no acknowledgement from anyone while Page and Plant turn to talk amongst themselves like a schoolboy clique.

  • @ColtraneTaylor I don't know what's going on with them these days but I have read interviews where Robert and Jimmy call JPJ the musical genius of the band. He did all the arranging etc.

  • 4:37 Don Johnson & Melanie Griffith--ZEP HEADS?!?? ;)

  • What ever happened to good music?

  • @janguupboy35 Rival Sons... I was asking myself that till I found them

  • im tired of idiots calling zeppelin the worlds greatest cover band..the first two zeppelin albums were mainly blues cover songs, so what?? alot of decent bands from the 60s and 70s ripped off artists from somewhere..the rolling stones used to rip off chuck berry songs when they started out.

  • @tyrant775 here's a better thought, stop caring what others think. :)

  • @tyrant775

I think it has to do with them never acknowledging this.

Also, I believe the Rolling Stones gave credit for the songs they covered.

  • @tyrant775 what amuses me about it is the fact that Zeppelin is held in high esteem by guys like McCartney ,Joe Perry , Neal Young , etc , yet these self important idiots who only learned of the instances of copyright infringemnt from a HOMEMADE YOUTUBE VIDEO act like they are offended by it . People need to take the shit out of their ears amd stop pretending .

  • Man, what's wrong with that crowd?! I wouldve been screaming my lungs out for them!!!

  • @rockalettenat23 they were listening to what he had to say rutard.

  • Specially in no quarter, love his keyboard work in that song.

  • Love Zeppelin but seriously why diss John Paul Jones. He's so fukin awesome!!!!

  • everyone got super long hair and they wear fukin smokins :P meh i dont like that in some way

  • What band can compare today with these giants? NONE!

  • @gnossticc Beatles...then who's second I dont care :D

  • @msanm5 I said today...and of course i was including the Beatles (plural) Peace! :-)

  • @gnossticc your opinion doesnt really matter...Beatles are number 1. LZ is amazing tho

  • @msanm5 And who asked you?

  • @gnossticc and who asked you?

  • Man, Jones really gave it to the rest of the band! You can tell how the air goes out of Plant's balloon pretty damn quick. Honestly, why P&P have to blow off Jones for their first reunion tour in '95 is regrettable. To not invite him on any one of their tours is lamentable.

  • Comment removed

  • You are not an old fart, Robert, but please, stop dissing John Paul Jones.

  • Wait...what's Elton John and Ellen Degeneres doing up on stage?

  • all that hair...

  • they earned that 10 fold

  • You know several years ago my wife did work in LA with Zoe Bonham and her mother for design. Its quite ironic really. She came home that day and said hey! Guess who I'm working with. I said holy sh(((((

  • @tonicfan Oh, wth!? sick

  • pretty lady..

  • Robert Plant mentions my name (ALPHONSE MOUZON) at 2:10 since I was one of Led Zeppelin's influences via their great drummer John Bonham. John used to listen to my funk and fusion records and to me live with my Jazz-Rock Fusion band with guitarist Larry Coryell called The Eleventh House. RIP John Bonham.

  • @alphonsemouzon I can't believe you would point that out about your name being mentioned and being an influence, Bonham I'm sure had many influences, you sound desperate for attention I can't see Tony Williams or Billy Cobham doing this. .so what are you up to now man, greeter at Walmart?

  • @jsilence418 Sorry dude! But its a fact that Bonza used to turn up my music very last at night in hotels and elsewhere! I own Walmart and other companies - so I'm not a greeter But I greet you with open arms!

  • @alphonsemouzon You are just repeating what was written in Hammer of the Gods and the sources are questionable. Ginger Baker is a marvelous drummer and was influenced by Elvin Jones yet sounds not like Elvin Jones but like Ginger Baker! stop trying to claim credit for " Bonzos'" stuff! and get back to work ! here come some people to Walmart you better get busy greeting them!

  • @jsilence418 I already told you that I own stock in WalMart - a true fact. I have mine - you have to stop hating and being jealous and get your own shit together! 13 people gave my comment THUMPS up and even Robert Plant said MY name ( not yours) during LED ZEPPELINS Induction speech into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame! End of discussion. I've waisted too much of time on you all already. You're probably a jealous ex-girlfriend of mine. Please get a job and a life!!!

  • @alphonsemouzon Seeing as your spelling seems to indicate you have no education, the only stock you have in wal mart is the flea powder you buy for your hair ! you are a minimal influence .Bonham reached millions of people with his style you will be forgotten as just another drummer while Bonham will be remembered as a major influence ! also your lack of humility shows not only lack of class, but you are uneducated and borderline retarded, your fathers semen was no doubt diseased.

  • @jsilence418 Not really. If he influenced Bonzo in some way then via Bonzo he is influencing others in the same way a lot of people are influenced by all the Blues musicians Zeppelin covered (didn't they just steal Dazed and Confused from Jake Holmes via the Yardbirds without giving any credit at all?).

  • @jsilence418 are you completely crazy? How dare you talking like that to one of the great drummers of all time who influenced John Bonham? How dare you talking like that to ANYBODY? You seem to have an intimate problem. Shame on you!!

  • @Groovehigh Thank you for coming to my defense. I was going to respond to (@jsilence418 )- but it would only give him or her more attention!

  • Comment removed

  • @Groovehigh Holy fuck stupid, what influence ?lol all he said was something about Bonham listening to records, he could have read that in "Hammer of the Gods"! so you could have as well if you weren't illiterate! Bonham could have listened to the fucking Carpenters it wouldn't make them an influence stupid!

  • @jsilence418 ok.maybe in your limited world - far off from any musicians reality - that makes sense...do you have any friends who are musicians? If you do have friends (which I doubt judging from your instant response here on youtube) and somebody happens to be a serious musician (which I also doubt, judging from your disrespectful behaviour towards an older master) then please ask them about the correlation between "I listen to another musician" and "I'm influenced by another musician".

  • @Groovehigh Show me where there is a defineable bit of Bonhams playing that is stamped alphonse mouzon ??, you cannot, because it is not there! more than likely Bonham listened to whomever mouzon listened to and they both drew influence, mouzon plays a lot of drums of course another drummer would listen as Bonham also listened to Ginger Baker whose influence can be heard in Bonham !go back to fucking sleep you overly insecure cock eater !

  • @jsilence418 no dude! You got me wrong! I did not ask you to ask ME about the correlation between listening and influence, I asked you to find A FRIEND WHO IS A DECENT MUSICIAN to do so. I'm concluding: You don't have friends who decent musicians. And I have to tell you: I don't argue with some rude wanna be musician, its like arguing about color with a blind!

  • @Groovehigh Yeah sure in other words, you've been owned and once again since the moment your momma shit you out, you have been shown to be a chump!

  • Comment removed

  • @jsilence418 Tony Williams past away 15 years ago. If you throw around names than better get your records straight. You are a real pain in the ass, probably not the first time you heard that in your miserable life!

  • @Groovehigh Sure shit head, we all like the way you changed your Youtube name alphonse you ignorant monkey !

  • @jsilence418 better you get your paranoid schizophrenia treated!

  • @alphonsemouzon if thats true then thumbs up

  • @getsomemates69 Thanks so much!

  • @alphonsemouzon a little humility? cool story man u are cool

  • @wagz420 Thanks a million.

  • @alphonsemouzon You are the luckiest man on the planet

  • Comment removed

  • @alphonsemouzon I concur with you. I'm lucky and Blessed.

  • @alphonsemouzon Lol now you are responding to your own comments?? you psycho son of a whore!

  • @jsilence418 please delete this disgraceful comment immediately!

  • @Groovehigh You and your daddy are diseased semen!

  • greatest band in the history of music. so diverse, so eclectic, so skilled at every position within the band. each song is a magical journey which changes your life a different time every time you hear it.

  • Led Zeppelin was the pinnacle of rockn'roll music. Rockabilly and blues music helped started it, but Zeppelin took it too an enormous level, Everything afterwards is just an offspring of their music.

  • I guess Robert forgot to mention that Jimmy Page also, did session work for Herman's Hermits

  • @SeattleLA He did say that Jimmy played with them..

  • @mrgb46 He said that John Paul Jones played with them, He did not say Jimmy Page did

  • I like JPJs humble attitude and how he made sure to give credit to their manager, Peter Grant. I read the biography of Peter Grant about his Led Zeppelin days, and it was great. For the whole 12 years, there was never a formal agreement with him, only a gentleman's agreement, plus Peter paved the way for all bands to get WAY more money from concerts and he did so much more, too.

  • 4:30 is jason? wow

  • thats not meant as an insult, but jones reminds me of an ABBA singer :D

  • @donnjuansohn i can so see that, lol.

  • Could the feud between Plant andJjones go backk to 77? Out of Page, Grant and Jones, jones was more in control of any habits they had. all three of them did not show up for Plants sons funeral. Jones could of and should of. all of them should have. i am sure there is a lot of hurt feelings there. At least I would feel that way

  • @rossiscute35 ..if thats true...that would grate a bit i guess...actually im shocked to hear that if its true..there seems to be some friction amongst RP an JPJ here definitely...Robert can come across as a smart arse with an acid tongue for sure..JPJ never, always professional and a gent and Jimmy...well JP just seemed incoherent thruout the 80's and 90's...to me..i think the 3 most gracious ppl in this were definitely Jason Bonham and his sis and JPJ.

  • These guys look sooo shy when they are giving their speeches, but man, these guys are badass when performing on stage!!!! =D

  • Greatest rock & roll band ever!!!!

  • Can't see a thing because of all that hair that's on the way

  • to bonzo!!

  • All due repsect to Mr.Plants talent, but fuck him dearly for screwing with JPJ. He basically spit in his face with 94-98 Unledded thing- didnt even contact Jonesy! What the fuck? Black Dog, No Quarter and many more were JPJ babies and he just want to pretended that hes the king of talon. Takes him too seriously.

Also this pretending with complements for JPJ now and actually shafting him off....fuck you Plant!

  • @Eldererr No wonder JPJ said "thank you ... my friends".

  • keith moon, john bonham, and neil peart are the three best drummers ever

  • @alienthompson

    and of course Ian Paice

  • fuckin shoulder pads from hell dude

  • what the hell is jason bonham wearing??? hes dressed like johnny depp from LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW!!!!!

  • The only words capable of expressing how great and phenomenal Led Zeppelin was are "Led Zeppelin". Simple as that.

  • I love Robert Plant!

  • Idve chugged a gallon of horse cum to be there.

  • I have a rhyme, it goes:

I only care for Plant and Page, everyone else get off the stage.

  • @salasvalor01 Your rhyme is shit as is your knowledge of music. John Bonham was easily the best drummer in my opinion along side Keith Moon. And as for John Paul Johns well he is a creative and musicial genius with out him Led Zeppelin might have been a very different band. It's said that the two together are the best rythm section in rock history. so go practice your rhyme before you come on here thinking people wanna hear you.

  • @skeathie Neil Peart = Best Drummer, so fuck off =)

  • I had no idea that Austin Powers is John Bonham's son.

  • Led Zeppelin is God

  • Rock and roll hall of shite Abbas in it for christs sake!!!

  • Does John Paul Jones have WOODEN TEETH or what?

    ...

and I thought Plant and Page left him out of their projects to avoid it seeming like a Zep reunion, which is semi-legit. Does anyone know if there's more to that story?

  • No words can put into motion the emotion that this man created within me. His lyrics and musical brillance inspired me to tears and joy. The rain song, after Robert tragically lost his daughter, was a tribute to life, and the after. Long live these icons, we could use a few more today that realize that music can be much more than a lyric, it can be awe inspiring...

    God Bless

  • @grtgatsby1 err didnt his son die, not daughter?

  • @Eldererr Yes, it was Plant's son who died, not his daughter. Never believe anything anyone posts on youtube.. not even this! Check it out, it was a his son Karac who died in 1977 while Zep was on tour in the US.

  • @grtgatsby1 Great comment dude, the exact same thing for me!

  • @grtgatsby1 huuu he lost his son not daughter

  • @grtgatsby1 Actually it was his son Karac that died and he wrote 'All of My Love' for him. 'the Rain song' was inspired by George Harrison, but I do agree with you in the sense that Plant and Zeppelin were amazing!

  • @grtgatsby1 The rain song was written in response to George Harrison saying there weren't enough ballads, bro. Hence the first bar or two containing the chords from "Something".

  • @NitroTheRhino "Something" is my favorite George Harrison song and Zeppelin my favorite band- how did I never notice this?! madness!

  • @grtgatsby1 his son,not daughter

  • @grtgatsby1 ummm robert never lost his daughter.. his son karac died not his daughter

  • @grtgatsby1 yah and the rain song was written by page primarily (90%) but nevertheless, your comment enthralls me with the spirit of these rock legends. i salute you brother.

  • @grtgatsby1 so true, good speech, to bad most music in the main charts is nothing about lyrics , insturment equipment , or there actual voice instead seems to be only about sex , money , cars , dance , looks and auto-tune.

  • @grtgatsby1 don't you mean his son, and also the song you'd be talking about would be 'All My Love'.

  • @grtgatsby1 Good sentiment, their music has touched and moved me through the years and has a special place in my heart, besides inspiring me to play guitar, it has set me on a path of musical enlightenment and inspiration, LONG LIVE LED ZEPPELIN, LONG LIVE ROCK N ROLL!!!!

  • @grtgatsby1 Robert Plant did tragically lose a child in 1977-but it was not his daughter. It was his first son Karac Pendragon (1972-1977) who died tragically of a virus while Plant was touring with Zeppelin. His little boy's death is the reason Zeppelin cut their tour short that year.

  • @grtgatsby1 i think he lost a son not a Daughter

  • "Thank you my friends for finally remembering my phone number". Priceless

  • @aaroniusfalonius That was embarrassing :-)

  • the whole form of american music was and impression and important to all of us!!!

    THANK YOU MR. ROBERT PLANT!!!

In the words of a former president " America has no greater friend than the country of Britain" while Tony Blair sat in a balcony.

  • Inspired by MobyGrape yes now were talking baby!!!!

  • Here it is. Concrete evidence that John Bonham studied Bernard Purdie. 2:01.

  • FYI RNR hall of fame do not consider only rock music but all music that has been influenced by rock and that influenced rock. Also they consider musicians who made a major impact in the music history. So no wonder why Metallica gets inducted instead of Megadeth, although i hope Iron Maiden gets inducted soon

  • The Hall of Fame does surprise you now and then, I mean Tom Waits and Leonard Cohen got inducted (no one thought that would ever happen).

The Pixies and Captain Beefheart have yet to be inducted, and those groups have influenced countless bands. Time will tell. The award is meaningless, the museum is useless, what matters is the music. And I think most people watch this shit just to hear the music.

  • zooey bonham look like she swallllllllllllllllllow

  • i don't see y Robert Plant considers himself to be an "old fart"

  • Holy crap i didnt joe perry and steven would be here 2 cooooooolest guys ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I got to see Jimmy twice with "The Firm" and once at the ARMS show back in the day. Oh, what a nice world it was

  • Im a huge led fan but this was kinda sad to watch. I hate to say this but JB's kids "upstaged " them boys right proper. I know things are different now but man, they should have had words before going on stage(im sure they did after)..would have looked less petty.still one of the best bands ever in my book just this moment should have been better.

  • Um, KiSS???

  • DAMN! GO JOHN PAUL JONES FOR CALLING THEM OUT!

  • You are absolutely correct, Andre. Don't forget Blue Oyster Cult, Montrose and Foghat!

  • This is amusing, in many interviews Robert Plant tears Joe Perry a new asshole by calling him a Jimmy Page clone. He said everything Joe did was a rip-of of Pagey. And here they are sucking ass on stage - too funny

  • PUT RUSH IN THE HALL OF FAME NOWWWWWWW!!!!!

  • video should have ended 4:04

  • Rest in Peace John...

  • damn robert plant looked mad tight

  • Still no ELP in the RnRHoF.

  • 15 people forgot john paul jones phone number

  • Can't stand Janis and neither can my father

  • Yay doors was said

  • true legends of music, especially rock music

  • what a complete load of ass....

  • I feel like my heart is being ripped out I should make it a point to watch the real Led Zeppelin band whenever I can

  • John Paul Jones' last comment was so cold... but funny

  • hahaha deep purple and rhcp arent in the rockn roll hallof fame

  • When they inducted these thieves, the Rock and Roll hall of fame lost all credibility.

  • @jeminijem1 You suck

  • Page and Plant were the brain and mouth of Zeppelin, but these organs also need a heart and a fair set of lungs - that's were JPJ and Bonham comes in!

All four equally important parts of a whole.

  • the only other musician who can stand up there next to page is jones.

  • i dont give a FUCK about jason bonham!! sorry john
