  • pretty good you have a nice voice

  • I absolutely adore this piece and your performance of it. Thank you.

  • This is totally wonderful. But I'm wondering... The name is about Louisiana, but the style, chords, singing, everything about the song sounds Irish/Celtic/Newfy. What is the history of the song, do you know?

  • The song was anonymously written probably during the War of 1812 and was brought to the rest of the world by soldiers of French and/or British background. Check out Paul Brady's version on here.... it's a little different.

  • wt a beautiful song!!! love your voice

  • wow you have a great voice

  • Brilliant song! I'm in the mood for shepherd's pie now for some reason.

  • What a great song. Listened to it 3 or 4 times in a row now!

  • Nice ...really nice!

  • Seriously, you introduced this song to me yesterday and it's already one of my favourites, all categories.

I can also relate to the text, somehow. Thanks for posting the video, I wouldn't have learned it on the guitar otherwise.

    Keep on singing and playing!

  • A very nice tune, good job. Could sit and listen to you for hours. Allways look forward to new posting and never get tired of the older ones.

  • A lovely song, though I wonder if a higher key might produce sharper vocals. I know that the song demands quite a range, so thanks for posting.

  • Thanks for the comments. My cam does not produce sharper vocals very well so I am left to sing in lower, slightly softer keys. And, of course, as a result I have to hold back.

  • very nice

  • I remember Cara Dillon singing this song...a beautiful Irish songstress...it's a haunting, soulful, romantic song of an innocent time long gone!! Beautiful version!!

  • ur brilliant, christy moore be proud of ye with a performance like that..top class

  • Good job on this song. I like Christy Moore's version as well, but you can never go wrong with Paul Brady.

  • I agree!!

  • Very Nice. I enjoy listening to you!! Very Pleasant.
