There is no doubt that the Caliphs gave the world an enormous gift by gathering all of the knowledge of the ancient world. Christianity, in contrast was burning books at this time. But this was a political devise, not religious. After murdering and raping their way across diverse populations, the leaders of Islam needed to coalesce their power. This was an exercise in bureaucracy.
Much of what is referred to as "Islamic Science" pre-dated the arrival of Islamic armies and was generated by scientists who were either not ethnic Arabs, were not Muslims, or who had to convert to Islam in order to attain access to education, equipment and capital to further their research. Sadly, once these ethnic groups/scientists were fully dominated by Islam and subordinated to it, Islam destroyed their science and these "Muslims" fell into the Islamic Dark Age that continues until today.
There is no such thing as "Islamic Science" just as there is no such thing as "Christian Science" or "Buddhist Science", so it is a gross misnomer to refer to anything scientific as "Islamic Science". Rather, it should be referred to as Indian Science, Persian Science, Arab Science, Roman Science, Greek Science, Turkish Science, or whatever ethnic group created the science during the era in question. Rewriting religion as a source of science is both misleading and wrong.

The thing with it is, You're not allowed to forcefully convert ANYONE, because we believe God only has the Will to change someone's belief, NOT US. Muslim Kings who ruled in Islamic History, allowed people of other faiths to live with them, like for example in Islamic Spain, The caliph allowed Jews and Christians to live amongst them, and let them practice their faith, and NEVER imposed Islam on them. The Sultans who followed Islam, never did this. It was in 1492 that Ferdinand and Isabella sent Europeans to Spain and had Muslims killed and Forcefully converted to Christianity.

Muslims did contribute to science. In fact, while europe was in the dark ages, the islamic world was the greatest place on earth. Sure these contributions are forgotten and islamic scholars deserve recognition but science and islam have nothing to do, one is science, another religion.

I therefore cannot believe in God, and if i get punished for this even though i have lived a life guided by morals then he is an evil God.
And if he is an evil God then what is the point of worshipping him? the only point would be because we fear him but what would be the point of living a life of fear. Its because people believe God has power on earth and people convince them it has been the will of God that wars have started. Lesson to learn is don't make assumptions without having real evidence first. Religion can be used for greatness but it can also be used for destruction. Religion is fine as a faith, and if it makes you happy. But it must be kept separate from Science and State/ nation. You muddy the water if you confuse scientific discoveries and leaps of the mind with the idea of a God. It's easy to do, but you should strive to see the difference and mark it out.

Much of what is referred to as "Islamic Science" pre-dated the arrival of Islamic armies and was generated by scientists who were either not ethnic Arabs, were not Muslims, or who had to convert to Islam in order to attain access to education, equipment and capital to further their research. Sadly, once these ethnic groups/scientists were fully dominated by Islam and subordinated to it, Islam destroyed their science and these "Muslims" fell into the Islamic Dark Age that continues until today.

There is no such thing as "Islamic Science" just as there is no such thing as "Christian Science" or "Buddhist Science", so it is a gross misnomer to refer to anything scientific as "Islamic Science". Rather, it should be referred to as Indian Science, Persian Science, Arab Science, Roman Science, Greek Science, Turkish Science, or whatever ethnic group created the science during the era in question. Rewriting religion as a source of science is both misleading and wrong.

@ubaidpirani Sahih Bukhari is not just to be read without knowledge. If one wishes to read about the Prophet (sullAllahu alayhi wasalaam) they should start with Tirmidhi and then read the Seerah. Bukhari can cause harm when read without knowledge.

In fact, probably 1 in every 10 Muslims ACTUALLY practices ISLAM and it's teachings. This is why the people who DO practice the right way, are always ashamed of those who don't, because it gives you all a bad picture of us. Every religion has it's bad sheep. The thing with it is, You're not allowed to forcefully convert ANYONE, because we believe God only has the Will to change someone's belief, NOT US. We as humans are powerless to that - just like death. We have no right to convert anyone without their own will. Preaching doesn't harm anyone, but its the way it's done that many Muslims don't do well because they refuse to practice Islam the right way.

Muslim Kings who ruled in Islamic History, allowed people of other faiths to live with them, like for example in Islamic Spain, The caliph allowed Jews and Christians to live amongst them, and let them practice their faith, and NEVER imposed Islam on them. The Sultans who followed Islam, never did this. It was in 1492 that Ferdinand and Isabella sent Europeans to Spain and had Muslims killed and Forcefully converted to Christianity.

Religion is our way of explaining that which is out of reach and we have no knowledge of yet. Science explains that which we have knowledge of. I cannot believe that a Godly force created a book yet we have no real evidence to verify this. I therefore cannot believe in God, and if i get punished for this even though i have lived a life guided by morals then he is an evil God.

Its because people believe God has power on earth and people convince them it has been the will of God that wars have started.
