With the another set of tires the Atom would be alot quicker I think, but as it is now, the standard tires (same size on both ends) makes the car slide alot!

i saw one in japan that had some small "indy car" style wheels on it, they looked to be about 13" wide with slick tires. really looked the part and handled very well in the corners!

There is no mention of the ariel atom 300 getting round faster than a ZR1 - you're getting confused with the 500 which hasn't even been released yet, and for which there is no video evidence - times are speculative (yet everyone on the internet seems to think otherwise).

Depends on what you want really; the 2 eleven probably has the edge on braking & handling (though that's not to say that the Atom has bad handling or braking) - the Atom (supercharged) is cheaper and a lot faster.

0-60 in 2.7 compared to 3.8

top speed 155 compared to 150

To make things worse, they'll be a new V8 Atom out soon.

Lotus = track day cars only, seemed like a great idea at the time but they're almost impossible to live with day2day, ended up buying a crappy old renault for commuting and to save my back (I'm in my early 30's so not an OAP just yet)

I am a 42yo registered disabled driver (back problems - huge muscular issues) and I use my Elise S everyday. I find it great fun and very comfy indeed - though a bit of a struggle to get in and out sometimes - it is, however, amusing to watch peoples reactions when you draw up ina disabled spot!!
