Obviously Joey is stronger but boxing is not about strength. It is about skill and technicality. I don't know if Joanie could win in a street fight against him but if they did get into it I bet he would have left the ring limping. John Wayne Bobbitt was supposed to fight Joey but he was arrested less than a week before the match giving Joanie little time to train. In that short time she is boxing way more sophisticated than he is. He's grabbing her by the neck, throwing her around the ring, hitting her the back of her head while the bell is being rung, swinging, and short of biting off her ear. It says she fights more like a man than he does. She has clean punches, dodging his jabs, and actually boxing.
Buttafuoco 15 years older than Chyna out of shape and trained on beer, pasta and cigars and may have hit the heavy bag a few times before the fight. Chyna hired a professional trainer to get her ready for the fight and worked her ass off. And Buttafuoco dominated her from A to Z. It was no Contest and Buttafuoco can't box for shit so what does that say about Chyna?

I hate to say it, but Chyna fought like crap in this fight. What the hell was she doing in as far as preparation? Since when is slugging your opponent onto the ground considered boxing? In MMA yes, but this was a boxing match. I'm pretty sure if this were a real boxing match he would have been disqualified, but as well all know this was just some celebrity boxing thing and they allowed it to continue for ratings. According to Chyna, she was signed on to do the fight only 1 day before the actual event and she only had 1 hour of training. As the video states, she was a last minute fill in.

Chris Rose thought she won.... she landed cleaner punches, rocked him with the best punch of fight, and Buttfucko should have incurred penalties in two seperate rounds. I think also it's important to note that while Chyna beat and stood her ground with some of the greatest male wrestlers in the WWE, all of that is scripted entertainment. Chyna played a character on TV, but realistically during her pro wrestling days she was only trained as a pro wrestler, nothing more. Could she beat up men in real life? She was asked to fill in for John Wayne Bobbit at the last minute to fight Joey Buttafuoco because Bobbit had been arrested. Because the amount of money they offered was so high, she said yes. She only had about 1 hour of boxing training while Buttofuoco had weeks of training.
Let's face if, men are way stronger than women in brute strength. Chyna may look buff, but she was nothing more than a boxing bag to average joe, Joey.

It's not like he's a professional fighter or something. More of a barroom brawler. Cracks me up how he holds her head with one hand and pounds it with the other. I gotta say, I'm impressed with Joanie Laurer. She took those punches like a champ. Sure, maybe she wasn't exactly great on the offense but I gotta say, if I ever came across her in the street, I'd be sure not to mess with her. She looked like she could take whatever you could dish out and that in of itself is enough to give ANY man a few second thoughts since that level of toughness just might give her an opportunity to do some serious damage, especially given her wrestling background.

Chris Rose thought she won.... she landed cleaner punches, rocked him with the best punch of fight, and Buttfucko should have incurred penalties in two seperate rounds. It's too bad she was a late replacement for Bobbit ... she was definitely out of shape and probably hungover. If she was in her WWE shape she definitely would have knocked him out.

I think also it's important to note that while Chyna beat and stood her ground with some of the greatest male wrestlers in the WWE, all of that is scripted entertainment. They could have Sable come back and beat John Cena if they wanted to. Like I said, its scripted. Chyna played a character on TV, but realistically during her pro wrestling days she was only trained as a pro wrestler, nothing more. Could she beat up men in real life? Maybe some yes, but probably not a lot.

And while Butt-a-fuck-oh clearly has next to zero skills..he is a pretty big dude, who did, i guess, train some for this. So i am sure their are guys off the street she could beat. Still your right, and their are some male wrestlers who themselves would likely lose to many guys in a real fight (that one big blonde dude, got beat up at a bar...cant think of his name)..anyhow...

So therefore naturally Buttafuoco had not only a size advantage, but also had a huge training advantage as well. Also, Chyna had not been trained in MMA up to this point. She didn't train in MMA until she went to New Japan Pro Wrestling shortly after this event occurred.

@vodkaeau Actually this was a real boxing match, it was not scripted. Chyna had not practiced boxing in years, and while they may have been licensed, she was never skilled in it. She was asked to fill in for John Wayne Bobbit at the last minute to fight Joey Buttafuoco because Bobbit had been arrested. Because the amount of money they offered was so high, she said yes. She only had about 1 hour of boxing training while Buttofuoco had weeks of training.
