  • That's kinda cool lol not too much not too little and you still have all you're trunk space for the most part. I like this

  • nice clean system bet it sound nice with the sealed boxes.

  • I would like to complain about this setup. It got me all twiterpated and made me dig out some of my old 8in flat piston subs from god knows how long ago (even had to reglue the surrounds) and an old tiny US Acoustics amp just to have something in my work truck. Now what am I going to do about this giggling problem sir? It's happening every time I drive to work now. Ohh and BTW YOUR SYSTEM SUCKS!. YOU SUCK!..YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU ARE DOING! and all the other obligatory you tube stuff. Cheers!

  • @brockallentaylor Haha, best comment ever!

Glad you got back into it. A great stereo goes a long way to making an otherwise boring drive quite fun!

  • they don't fight each other?

  • @The1olemissfan Really not sure what you mean by that. They're all playing the exact same note because they're receiving the exact same signal. There's nothing wrong with multiple subs sharing a single common airspace.

  • @Italynstylion Actually, you're wrong. Subs are rarely exactly the same and minute differences cause frequency cancellation, and distortion, resulting in decreased output and frequency holes. Also, boxes designed with single common chambers are much more prone to flex due to the lack of stabilizers. This box should have separating MDF inside, and plenty of polyfill. You'll present a perceived ~.3ft^3 like this.

  • @ctsincebay You're right no two speakers will measure EXACTLY the same; ever. Just like you will NEVER make 4 chambers exactly the same. The differences in TS parameters isn't what causes cancellation; it's the reflections. However, even a speaker in it's own chamber will suffer from this too. Non parallel walls are your friend. My box, although a common chamber, was braced throughout to keep flex to a minimum. Bolting it to the roof helped too. And I believe I had 1 pound of polyfill inside.

  • @Italynstylion I'm not going to argue the point with you. Every high end manufacturer and install shop will tell you the same thing. Shared chambers are always to be avoided. Differences in the size of the chambers will not cause lost frequencies because the air is moving at the same speed per chamber. Also, based on the pictures, your box is suspended on either side, which will do nothing against flex of the panels. If you installed brace blocks inside but not separators, that's even funnier.

  • @ctsincebay Don't get me wrong, I'm not arguing, I'm just posting facts.

The size of the chamber will drastically change the velocity of the air; so no airspeed will not be the same. Use a program like WinISD or Unibox, you can calculate it the actual speed. Different size chambers will also change the total Q of the system.

And if a common chamber is terrible, then why are most high end home audio speakers a common chamber? Google KEF Blade series tower, 4 subs...1 chamber

  • @ctsincebay Shared chambers are to be avoided IF they are being fed different signals...

  • 1 cubic feet on each one???

  • @simon1234simon 1 cubic foot total, single common chamber, for all 4 subs to share.

  • @Italynstylion i thought so. 1 cubic feet would be waaaay too much for a 6.5" speaker.

  • clean subs. not affordable though

  • @Ramoncito1159 You're exactly right. Prices of these used to be $35 on parts-express. Problem is the price of neo has risen considerably. They aren't worth it anymore at their current price. However, they do make a ferrite version that's nearly identical that's $40 still :)

  • wouldn't do much justice if just 1 or 2 was used. but 4 should give some great volume,. it might not go very deep loudly, but least will have well controlled tight bass unlike boomy bass of a badly designed reflex.

great way to save space in a car. I also saw someone mounting a sub in the spare tyre hole in the car boot in it's own drop in box.

both are interesting ideas to save space in a car to say if you do lots of shopping etc, taking the sub out all the time would be a hassle.

  • @JillBattleSlut I believe that two would do quite well but you'd have to put them in a ported box for cone control. Otherwise you'll run out of Xmax quickly. The coils are good for more than rated power. The amp that came after this one was throwing 700RMS at the 4 of these and they ate it up. Even with the sealed box I believe these were measurably flat to 20hz.

I used the trunk in this Lexus frequently and this was KILLER. I don't know what I would have done with a "normal" sub setup lol

  • Very interesting. Good setup!

  • Nice job, I love trying to stash small subs in the unused spaces and keep it super clean. I used to use PPI 8in back in the day.

  • @brockallentaylor The amp in the back of my trunk in the video is a PPI amp. DCX 300.4 :)

  • Very cool setup.... I imagine that with woofers that small, the response is very tight and clean, and with four of them, still plenty of output.... install is nice as well... mad props!

  • i just cant imagine these things gettin really loud, i mean i geuss they could be

  • @bassline123456789 It's all in the design man. The subs have 13mm of one way xmax (how far they can move in one direction) and a neodymium motor structure. The cone area might be small but it's a very well designed woofer. Put them in the right box and throw 700watts at them (which I did) and they do VERY well. Put a smile on the face of pretty much anyone who stepped into my car. People were really surprised when they heard it in person :)

  • @bassline123456789 They aren't.

  • @XxChiiXChobiTxX Thanks dude! It may have been cute but it would flex the trunk lid! I did make a version 2.0 that was ported but I sold the car before I installed it. Some other IS300 owner is currently enjoying it :)

  • nice :D

    i like the set-up, where'd u get it?

  • @Xdiablomayor9X This system was designed and built by me.

  • These remind me of my dual 8" power subs, there made by Mitzu.

    I still got them tho.

    nice set up there bud!

  • sounds great

  • Seeing as you said you wanted sound quality out of this, that box is sealed?

  • you don't need a ton of subs to get great sound. and you are dumb. i can't stand driving down the road and hearing just bass comeing out of a car. terrible! the system must match all the way around.

  • @biggidaman777

Not really sure who this is directed at. But I just wanted to clarify that this system was NOT intended to bump down the street like some 16 year old thug who thinks he's cool. This system was designed for quick transients, great sound quality, and real frequency response.

I compete strictly in sound quality competitions (NOT SPL) so I assure you it was a very well balanced system.

  • @Italynstylion Just for the record, I'm 17, I have an 18" BTL, a pairs of Orion xtrcomponents on both doors, and yea you can only hear my bass from down the road but that doesn't mean that's all I have. I have great sound quality, and great frequency response, because unlike every other 16 year old thug I know how to properly build an enclosure and I know how to properly set gains...just don't stereotype, it upsets us who actually know what we are doing at such an age.

  • @Italynstylion do you have those playing all sound or just lows?

  • @biggidaman777 You truely know nothing about speakers and sound.

  • You need sound deadening! You will probably gain 3 db by adding it

  • @megabutler The car was extensively deadened. You just can't see any of it. I like to keep it clean.

  • weak

  • @lilbadboy114 Yes, it was weak as hell and didn't win multiple sound competitions. And I also don't know jack about audio because I surely don't own an audio company.

    PS: You're an idiot.

  • @Italynstylion u don't need to own a audio company to know things about audio or subs

    PS: YOU'RE A DUMB-ASS

  • @lilbadboy114 If I had to guess you're probably a 14year old "lil boy" that thinks anything short of multiple 12" subs is "weak". Those of us that actually understand the principles behind acoustics and can design a proper box to spec don't need a ton of huge subs to get great sound.

Quit being a troll and go back to your ghetto system.

  • @Italynstylion okay what every u say kid n im 22 dumb ass n u do need huge subs to get a great sound stupid....

i will n its better then ur lil kids system i have 2 memphis power reference 15"

  • @lilbadboy114 When you are trying to prove your superiority, I would suggest the use of full words and proper grammar.

    u get mi drift ?

o ye n how much spase duz ur systm tak up? dems ony tak <2 cu foot in totel n they sound gr8!

  • @lilbadboy114 Plus, you are totally a "Bad Boy" now go troll elsewhere.

  • @Italynstylion 1. 4 6in are barely as loud as 2 8in. 2. It didn't win any "sound competitions" and 3. You don't own an audio company. Just take the kudos for a nice setup, although I doubt you actualy made the box but MAYBE you did. Quit trying to be a poser. The Lexus hand-me-down from a few years ago was your car; and the Tacoma is your new car. You are NOT a professional. Grow up and quit acting like you are.

  • @chemao1978 Wow, not sure what crawled in your vag and died this morning but I need to correct you on a few things.

    1) 4x6.5" drivers have 132 sq in of cone area (more than a 12" sub) vs 100sq in for 2x8's. If Xmax is similar the 6.5" subs displace more air. Not my opinion, that's a mathematical fact.

    2) You wrongfully assumed those trophies were for SPL competitions when they were really for Sound Quality competitions.

    3) StereoClarity is my company. I design and build speakers, thanks.

  • @Italynstylion 1. Where have I heard that before? Sadly, audio frequencies don't function they way you're imagining. It's fine, though. 2. What trophies? Let's see them. Still, I actualy assume you have none, not that you have some for one or the other. 3. StereoClarity is a huge company based out of a different state than where you live. They do not own a piss-poor demo Tacoma. Perhaps you decided that charging $100 for installing speakers in your friends' cars qualifies that as a "company."

  • @chemao1978 Look, if you're wanting me to publicly humiliate you further, that's fine, I'm more than happy to oblige. You're making an ass out of yourself and it's clear you barely know enough to keep conversation going. The only Stereo Clarity I know of is my business; StereoClarity *dot* com

I don't design setups with how I "imagine" the way sound works; I use software to run calculations and model freq response. If you have any questions feel free to email me at Steven@StereoClarity *dot* com

  • @Italynstylion Also, they don't use cheap ass Tang Bands...

  • Did not expect Postal Service to be your test song! But good choice that song has some sweet bass to it (and very constant ha). Sweet set up!

  • doe sit slap hard? or doe sounds like mid range.

  • @gfhnk : It actually crushes pretty darn hard. People who heard it said they thought I had a really strong 12 or set of 10's. It actually flexed the trunk a little. I don't have the car anymore but the system lives on in someone else's IS300!

  • @Italynstylion NICE!!!!!

  • the start music sounds like super mario

  • nice setup!

  • very very nice sir.

  • What kind of response were you able to get with this setup?

  • i got to say i fuckin love your steup

  • Thats amazing

  • Nice they shake anything? What would be better these of kickers? You ever used pyle? Could you put these in a door or would they be better in an enclosure? How you get to box dimensions? GREAT SETUP THOUGH

  • @Hacksandmods365 any speaker or sub is better in an enclousure lol

  • I bet it sounds great on that old PPI amp... Nice job!

  • how much did this setup cost you? I'm trying to find some sub's to put in my 05 tahoe. I haul a lot of stuff in the back so i need to space.

  • are they as good as kickers?

  • @MrJamesdimaano1516 i would say many times better.

Tangbands may be simple looking drivers....but they are made of quality materials!

  • @MrJamesdimaano1516 as far as quality goes, yes they are. as far as power and over all power handling, no they aren't. kicker subs are meant for alot of power, while tang bands are meant for quality. tang bands are also alot cheaper but thats because they are so small.

  • wow, Makes me want this in my trunk, Looks clean and probably sounds amazing due to size

  • im digging the hanging box . :) good job.

  • if someone just want a little more bass and still keep the space, i would use it too like that

  • Which TB´s are they`?

can i go to them with 650 W rms ?

  • @dNam1C it rated 80watts but you can try 650watt with them and we wouldn't care if you blow them :P

  • Four of these TB 6.5 mini sub drivers will be loud enough (due to huge cabin gain of a car interior) and SQ is very good.

For a rare time people post QUALITY in place of dumbo QUANTITY buzzing abd farting like a overweight fast food chain customer!

  • Awesome setup. Very space friendly and probably sounds great!

  • Dude tangband forever yea nice vid man

  • WOO I was THE 45,000th view!

Anyways, nice work man, still waiting to see those running in your tacoma!

  • That is real clean, you get some clean sounding thump, and such a clean install that you still have 90% of your trunk. I would do that if i didnt like it as loud as i do

  • for those of you that are wondering this is a project from parts express

  • @dooftea yeah i remember this project....the one on PE was in a firebird

  • i love that box... and u mounted how. i have an idea but i would like to see it

  • wow. i bet this sounds clean as hell! good shit man. how much do each of these cost?

  • 43k views, and these deserve every one of them.

  • very neat setup

  • So cute. do they have theyre own box chamber inside??

  • how much were each sub? last i heard they arent cheap.

  • @vm756 I got mine shipped from Quebec to BC for 68 canadian each, which is a pretty good price IMO

  • nice, but that was probably prety pricy. dont those run for like 50 bucks each?

  • ADD '&fmt=18'(lower-case) TO THE END OF THE URL(OF THE VIDEO) FOR HIGH-QUALITY(480p) ON ALL YOUTUBE VIDEOS THAT DON'T HAVE THE OPTION.

  • ADD '&fmt=18'(lower-case) TO THE END OF THE URL(OF THE VIDEO) FOR HIGH-QUALITY(480p) ON ALL YOUTUBE VIDEOS.

  • sweet !!! :)

  • how cute....there little woofer's!! lol......

  • sounds more like car rattling than sub bass.

  • like two 12" in the back of the boot/trunk and you still have space nice setup :)

  • @JOSHWF2 not quite,

its more like a single 12'' but you will get a more accurate response, cause in most cases smaller woofers can move faster.

  • @powripper well 6.5+6.5 =13 inches but ther not as big as one 12 so not as much bass dunno to be honest im ony 13 just started with subs

  • That only width, you have to factor in height as well. you would need roughly four 6'' subs to match the surface area of a 12'' woofer.

  • @powripper gonna seh but my 4 6.5 subs are bassy as and kick out 90db

  • very very nice, so jealous love these speakers their setup and especially sound. Great system +5 post more vid's of them in similar music very original and nice :)

  • imm putting something like this in my ford single cab just with JL w3s should be banging :D

  • im putting a set up like this in my ford single cab just with 6.5 jl w3s cant wait :D

  • Desent

  • pretty sick

  • nice super clean

  • tang bands usually do better in ported boxes

  • logitech speakers r allmost allways from tang bang

  • need more power to these check out mine you wanna see full Xmax!!

  • Wow...these things have 13 MM of Xmax!...thats impressive for such a small driver...and with four of them you should be Thumpin the block with ease!..nice vid!

  • name of the song is brand new colony by the postal service

  • i forget the song name but its by the postal service

  • tang band makes good woofers wooow^^

  • thats the brand logitech uses in there higher end systems like the logitech z-5500, which I have

  • wats the song

  • Read more info section

  • Same size as my micro system's ones... cool

  • looks like the w6-1139 si

  • hey, what tang band is that?

  • nice install, i bet they have awesome sql.

  • those Tangbands are Really Powerful for Subs that small...

  • @form109 dont mean to sound like a turd but, its not about size, its about the amount of air you have to move with efficiency... 4x smaller (lets say) 6 1/2" subs is way better than 1 big 15" sub

  • @johnnyboy2459 you make sense actually.....that setup would have plentiful bass and you'd still have plenty of trunk space.

I have the W8-1363 (the Larger 8" Version of this Sub)

and that thing is no joke....massive amounts of displacements from that Driver

id like to get a Few of the 6 1/2's myself

  • @form109 yeah even the 8s are good, there is a lot of potential in small subs, people assume bigger is better. i have a classic mini and i have 2x 8" 2 ways at the moment and its a lot better at producing bass than a lot of 12" subs in friends cars, but i want a bit more sub bass, so im going for one of these 6 1/2 inch subs i have a feeling its going to give a great kick for what i want. most bose subs have 2x 5,1/4" woofers :)

  • @johnnyboy2459 yeah small subs can be very capable drivers,i've had subs as small as 4 Inches and even though they were small they could provide pretty clean bass at very reasonable levels.

i'd like to try all of Tangband's Subwoofers,to me they are one of the best bang for the buck values on the DIY Market.

  • This is beautiful, bro. What is the name of that speaker and what series is it? How much do each go for? Thank you!

  • Read the info on the right? Lol =o)

  • hey im thinking about some of those and i was wondering if they hit hard.

  • super vid m,an

    4 subs, nice

  • please tell the name of the song...please...

  • Please read the more info section.. it says Brand New Colony by The Postal Service

  • i want the song....its amazing..please tell me the song...

  • Mario Bross mixed music

  • that sounds good

  • I'm thinking about doing this same exact set up in my 98 camaro. I have one 12 in right now, but Id like to have nice clean sounding bass. I like the bass that jl audio subs have, do these sound as clean as jl's?

  • Instead of having Massive woofers, I think a 1KW Amp and about 50 4" subwoofers would do it, probobly more would fit tbh, I wonder how it'd sound.

  • I'm with you on that, lets try it :P

  • I bet you'd get Massive Bass with Quality though.. When im older im gunna do it (Im only 14!)

  • Comment removed

  • Hmm though I guess if someone does it i'd imagine the SQ and Spl would be very good.

  • Comment removed

  • Meh well it would be imazin' to see right?

  • watch part 4 he plays late night tip and they hit they lows pretty good for little subs

  • niceeeee

  • you get them from the parts express website

  • Where do you buy these

  • They have them on the website parts express

  • do you know if they deliver to the uk ?

  • some people would find that funny xD

  • That is SO clean! Great job!!

  • wow that actually looks like a clean set up...not just some big shity sounding sony EXPLODS

  • @QuadRider004 wxplods cant even flex as much as these

  • @QuadRider004 xplods dont even flex as much as these

  • cute

  • thats awesome!

  • i just bought some of the 5.25" tb subs. going to replace the two 8" behind the seats in my s-10.should be a good experiment, if it's not enough, i'll use them for computer subs.

  • i really dont understand why people go with bigger is better theory seriously that looks like it would put out good clean sound at more then enough volume

  • love it, great sound without taking up the entire trunk! sweet deal man! the Postal Service songs always got some nice lows

  • how about ya read the fucking description

  • Haha good comment XD

  • i really love this install. nice and tidy.

  • the postal service rocks, and that is a very nice clean install!

  • You should have went with the 8inch versions, they beat hard and sound amazing. Go lower as well, I have 8 of them and they shake everything.

  • really nice man;) can you upload the song somewhere please , 10x dude

  • The box is 1 cube sealed and is too small to port. It would have to be about 1.7 cubes to be able to port. It would be loud as shit and still sound great doing it but I really like the current setup. I am going to keep it like this till I get rid of the car.

  • a small port on a sealed box...what, do you want the thing to be tuned to 120hz and lose all the lower-end bass?

  • Is the whole box 1 cu.ft or is that 1 cu.ft. for each woofer? (thinking about using W6-1139SI as bas/midbas speakers in my Merc)

  • @Italynstylion agreeed, but if it were my setup, I would seal half of them and port half of them.

  • why dont u put a big long 8 inch by 2 inch retangilar port on the box it will give it more bass

  • seeing you cant spell, and dont know the box dimensions, why would you know the correct port size? Maybe the box is too small to port...

  • cuz i no that the box is longer than 8 inches dum shit and im only 12 so fuk ur mum

  • hah, typical response. you are friends with el gay ass wooferfreak huh?

  • WHAT!!!!

  • You can't appreciate the bass these produce without having a subwoofer on your computer! I have one and unlike most vids on youtube, this one had a good enough mic for the notes to comes out clear! It realls shakes my room, even on my smallish sub. It must be great in real life!

  • Even though a speaker of only 6.5 inches can only be called a large midrange or just a woofer, these speakers seem to be really good nonetheless.

  • ever note sounds so perfect

  • omg, what song is that, that sounds amazing,

  • For people that want to know; the SQ is incredible! They are dead accurate and blend very well with the Focal 165V1's I have up front. These subs really pound for their size.
