  • SICK!!! I always loved watchin' competitions growing up, but nothing was better than chillin' with cats like this man... I tried at a lot of different shit, but never got too big into doing it... (my thing was scouring the neighborhood for scrap frames and parts and rebuilding bikes).Still fun shit though... Memories... that's all they are... We're all GROWED UP now... and this is as far as I get to BMXing... now. Fuckin JOBS and BILLS!!! LOL!! Peace!

    -The Unfamous (ME)

  • Thankz for sharing the memories of the great 80´s I used to ride flatland in the mid 80´s too, and in 2005 i got back into it..and it is a great feeling. I am now 40 yrs old and vill ride Bmx to the end of time=)...Thankz again for the great vid, music and so=)

  • man good work! Sweet bike! A Hutch Trick Star 2! Those things are SUPER rare! I still have my Trick Star frame. I also used to have a Trick Styler frameset I rode on a lot. I miss that bike.

  • they arent super rare, and i think the 1st trickstar is better =) i mean id kill for either or, but id rather the trickstar 1

  • hey ranmamaru i can bommerang now..i gotta make a vid thanks for the vid again!

  • this guy need more practic or not?

  • how do you put music

  • how do you put music on them

    im sort of new

    someone answer

  • Sweet. I remember doing all those tricks. Looks like you needed your front brakes dialed a bit more. Old flatland....Good Stuff.

    Thanks for sharing

  • Nice riding. Can you still do the tricks. What bike is it?do you still have it cause if so it could be worth a lot of MONEY.Sorry about all the questions.Song name please?

  • Yup, still have it. Song title is Send Me an Angel, performed by Real Life and is a soundtrack on an old 80's movie RAD.

  • What bike is/was it that you used?(bmx collector).Doing a skyway ta at the mo.

  • very nice. good song to go with it.

  • well im askater but nice anyway

  • ur alright, got some skill, but the bike,

it looks like a sort of girly bike bmx, and its purple

  • It's not purple, it's chromed. It's an old video recorded on Video-8 then later transferred to VHS. The film probably took on a hue that's purple-like somewhere along the way. The ground even looks blue but it's actually gray.

  • @mybollucksisitchy

know your bmx if you dont then stop with the posting......know your bmx!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

  • Why some people post some videos if they can do anything...

  • wtf is this???? why are all these ppl so tiny??

  • @warner4455 maybe your a giant with asmall head think !

  • what's name song?

  • haha the dancing kids were awesome

  • the bike is just too heavy for him - LMAO

  • nice but the dancing kids in thier underwair kinda ruined it

  • gota love gyros

  • 1:45 to 1:50

    lol

  • where was this video filmed?

  • i think the philapines..idk how t0 spell

  • this is shit

  • you got no skills, so may as well be jelous.

  • l0l this vid so addicting!!!

  • wait is that trick 2:38 a hanglider?or decade im confused bout that one lol

  • its a boomerang

  • awh i just figured that out on a diff vid, thanks a bunch

  • At 2:38, that was actually a variant of the boomerang... the boomerankle. It's not too obvious in the video, but the right foot lands on the pedal pointed towards the rear of the bike. You have to twist your ankle to get back on the bike afterwards, then straighten it out when the left foot is on the other pedal.

  • ive said it once and ill say it again, THIS IS MY FAVORITE VID AND FLATLAND BMXER

  • i did a backflip yesterday, BY ACCIDENT. i was at some big 'ol dirt jumps. on friends bike. grim reaper, lightest bike basically and i just pulled up like my bike but mine is like 35 lbs and i did a full backflip rofl

  • whats the name of this song?

  • send me an angel

  • this is wiffleballhotshot with a new name.....i still love your stuff i can do a few of them not the decade liek thing though, just a lot of the scuffing and things thanks again man your my idol like literally

  • Hello wiffleball. Nice to hear from you again. Glad to hear of your progress. Keep ridin!

  • yeah today i finally did the trick when you hit the front brake, and swing your legs whilst on the pegs doing a 180...i couldnt do the second one, i just scuffed and got back on.....lol i was so happy for sucha little thing....

  • greetings from the dominican republic!I'm34&,this remindsmeofthevideoeveryone of us had back then, long livetripods!.I'm guessing this is 89-90since the frame you'reon cameout inthe summer of 88.toguysmakingtheracistcomments,sorry to breakitdowntoya but flatland is SO global,it's not even funny, some of the best ridersdontknowenglish, and the worldchampis finnish(that means from finland, since bigotry is sinonymous with ignorance,Iguessyoudont knowbikeswere inventedinFrance, returntothe KKK,punks).

  • not feelin the music =/ im nearly 20 and i cant do half that..kids got skill

    thx for the vid

  • Man was this dude in the movie RAD? hahah

  • pretty old school, got some styles happening there dude

  • Who were the gay kids dancing in the background?

  • Just some pesky neighborhood kids. They didn't really grow up to literally be gay though. They just acted like it in the vid. Meh

  • do you want their number?????

  • wasnt real good cuz it was all real simple bmx. trust me cuz im a flatlander too.and if u really want to get into the sport get a real flatlander bike not a whimpy wal-mart one.

  • I doubt that.. otherwise you would've guessed what year this video was shot. This bike was one of 3. My main one was a GT Pro Performer. Oh, and there are no Wal-marts in our country, much less a whimpy in the dictionary. You probably meant "wimpy". Cheers mate

  • The last time I heard this song was from the movie Rad. Awesome tune dude. Its midnite here n I'm gonna go for a midnite stroll on my 87' Haro Master. Keep workin at it. I'm 35 n still ridin mine. Later....

  • Got some good skills there mate.

  • this is soo fresh man.. i wish i still had my Mongoose FS1!!!!

  • Silly Chinese flatland is for Americans

  • Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm not Chinese. You don't see any Chinese characters in the background, do you? I do have a Chinese girlfriend though if it'll make you feel better. :)

  • why do i get the feeling he is about 20x better than you?

  • allthough some of the best riders come outside of america.. ofc you got good riders too, but not my fauvorites

  • that kicked soo much ass

  • Brings back lots of GOOD OLD memories. Im still riding though...and I hope some of you guys too. Anyway...Keep Ridin!

  • Brings back lots of memories.

  • good work old school rules...u coulda given aparijo a run for his money lol

  • Cru Jones would have been jealous and got last place at Helltrack!!!!

  • Now this is the funniest response that I've gotten. :)

  • You're a ripper dude! That was all top notch tricks back then.

  • Nice video, I loved the movie RAD and this reminded me of the movie. I started riding in the eighties, and have been riding off and on since then. The stuff they are doing now is crazy. I'm stuck somewhere in the middle. Awesome Vid!!!

  • dude this stuff is hotttt i cant even do some of this stuff......wicked sweet video nice job

  • Who is the song by?

  • Send Me an Angel

    Artist: Real Life

  • ha nice bike

  • Great video, and great 1986 riding!

  • im 13 and im starting to ride bmx flatland i think its gonna be the thing im good at if you know what i mean, im gonna use your vid for everything lol thanks ive been looking for something like this vid you were great btw, you should get back on and teach someone ya know lol thanks again great vid glad it lasted that long lol

  • Freestyling has really evolved right now and this would be considered old school. Glad you liked the video anyway. Thanks for the compliment. Good luck! :)

  • then i guess ill be a 13 yr old riding old school its what i like the best :) ill stick out lol and be unique :)

  • nice song "D

  • This kid is badass...he needs a haircut though

  • that was a really weird freestyle

  • That is great, amazing control

  • lol thats pretty good flatland...

not many people care about flatland no more =(

sadd... now its all about how much air and how many flips

  • wow

  • das ist abgefahren

  • But thats whats sweet about it, half the kids dont know old school. I do a Infinity Roll or a Miami Wedge now and kids are like "sweet". Long live Eddie Fiola and Martin Aparijio. GT till death.

  • lmao compared to bmx nowdays that aint shit lol but you got the basics down

  • 34, grew up to this, still say should be Olympic sport (snowboading phfff). Love the RAD movie music too, just makes it.

  • that kid in the background is hella funny

  • LOL who is this monkey

  • Yes!! Baby Martin???

  • No offence, flat land is kinda easy. Just takes balance. You should have done vert when you were a kid. it will make you look like your amazing.

  • I probably would've. But lack of ramps made that difficult. There was one quarter-pipe back then, but it was a long way off. Had a bit of fun with it nonetheless when we were there.

  • wow,hw old were u back thn??cool i only started to break bones doing dirt whn i was 13 n a hlaf

  • Probably 13-14 too when I made this video, since this was back in high school.

  • Cool Old School tricks , I still have The same Bike A HUTCH TRICKSTAR That i used back in the late 80's anybody want 2 buy it ???

  • ive never botherd to learn flatland its as good as vert or dert jumps

  • Sick tricks bruv, being a flatlander myself i know its hard as nails!!! Do you still ride??

  • ur fat and chinese

  • hey , stop this racist shit. every bmx er is one of us, no matter what his color.

  • Yup, one comment was a really racist one. But I'm not fat and not even Chinese so I took no offense on it whatsoever.

  • Back then, did you guys wheelie sititng down or standing up, judging by the seat height im guessing down. Ive just recently learned to wheelie my bmx sitting down.

  • Yup, everyone I knew back then did wheelies sitting down. Not everyone's seatpost were set as high as mine though. Mine was set like that so that I could hold both the seat and the handlebar with one hand for some tricks.

  • Shut up its not that great. If you wanna see a pro at work and not do some gay ass tricks look up Steven Hamilton!!!

  • Dude that was sick! why didnt u go pro!?

  • Dude that was awesome. I could watch you ride for hours, until I got pissed off because I couldnt pull half the shit you make look so easy. Teach me?

  • Wow...thats totally awesome! How long did u ride to make such crazy tricks?

  • oki to brad... haha! malolos neighborhood nakalagay!

  • Yup. It's on Malolos street in Makati btw, not Malolos Bulacan in case you were wondering ^^

  • Is that a HUTCH TRICKSTAR?

  • Yes it is

  • you was almost a pro

  • Wasn't there a cheesy 80s movie about BMX bicyclists which used this same song Send Me an Angel in it? I remember seeing it in like 1986. The scene takes place at a highschool dance where this misfit BMX racer shows up on his bike and starts doing tricks on some parallel bars along with some BMX chick

  • uhuh. its called rad

  • WoW! Ur cricket/grasshopper is really fantastic man! Ur boomerang is very good too!

  • wow! great tricks, great footage! im trying some of this on my own bike- where are the wheelies? you looked good enough to handle one

  • dude that is soooo awesome!!!!

  • if u good at that age ull b great wen u older

  • Cool video, really brought back some memories. What year and where was this video filmed ? I was a hero on my 1985 Skyway Streetstyler and once pulled a 26 crank wheelie back in circa 1986. That was about the extent of my freestyle skills besides an occasional endo or kickout.

  • I remember when i first sen rad my brother was all into biking and stuff and the first time i seen it it was almost a gift from god best biking movie ever great tricks man

  • RAD reference: "Send Me An Angel"! LOL Those were the days: 5'2", but with a foot of seatpost and 9" X 30" bars! And perhaps the worst frame ever made: the Hutch Trickstyler - they gave me one when I rode for them - Ack! Cool video, though! Maybe I'll post some of my own old vids!

  • Hi man! I'm a brazilin old school freestyle bike! I loved this video! Thank you!

  • This takes me way back... Thanks

  • Dang man, you should DEFINENTALY get back into that. You make it look Soooooo easy. That was pretty awesome.

  • lolz.... old tricks.. from 80's..^^ sir, ilang taon pa poh b u na sa pic mo.....? hehehe..

  • nice video! how old were you back then? still riding flatland now?

  • I used to do all this stuff too. But living where there was winter forced me into my basement where all I could do was infinity rolls and funky chickens. I beat my Haro Sport to death, but sill have my newer Master. Nice work on the Boomerang.. I never got that down either. I do still have a box full of BMXPlus and the first Ride Mags... Good old days.

  • I guess that's harsh, being snowed in. Well, at least you have a pretty big basement without too much clutter if you can still manage to do infinity rolls and funky chickens there. :) Thanks btw. I wish I could have gotten my double boomerankle on that video, but I didn't learn that till later. Yeah, I have a bunch of those old ride mags myself, plus a few vids.

  • I love this video, and That Song from Rad hahaha! I wish there were more of this stuff on youtube. I had a 87 Gt Performer and a 88 Haro Master and could do a decade, and a boomerang but could never land them!!! If only I had your video to watch in slow motion and figure out how to do it. Awe Well, I still have the haro at my Dads house so maybe i'll have to get it from him and learn these tricks right once and for all!!!

  • Thanks for the kind comment, really appreciate it. I didn't try to perfect the decade anymore after a sharp section of the odyssey gyro ripped a hole in my pants near the crotch area, but a bit to the left side. I shudder to think if that had been my inside leg. ouch! Anyway, good luck.. hope you do get the trick. Don't hesitate to ask for advice if you need em.

  • I used to have a GT Pro Performer and a Dyno Compe, and I used to ride with my friends. Boy were those the days or what ? Great post man, this brings back some memories :)

  • I have a green GT Pro performer too and it's also very much alive today. Although it was more expensive, it was my backup bike to my Hutch. The front axle on the Hutch was almost perfectly aligned with the fork and made a lot of diff. Glad I could reach out to some ex-freestylers with my vid. Thanks!

  • Thank you ! Those were the days, we were the first generation to do freestyle. That's pretty cool when you think about it.

  • wow, that brings back memories for me as well - love the hutch trickstar! I used to do many of the same tricks, funny watching the early stuff that we thought was so cool, then seeing the fluid movements of the current freestylers. but it all started here! thanks for posting, put a smile on my face!

  • Thanks for the comment. Back then, our inspirational/instructional videos were Rad and 101 Freestyle Tricks, which we played over and over again. Too bad I hadn't caught my specialty move on video, the Double Boomerankle which I learned a year or so later. That move also won me 2nd place in a tournament.. I could never forget that moment since I could literally hear the crowd gasp when I pulled it off. That and a series of moves leading to a seat grinder clinched it for me.

  • Incidentally, that Hutch Trickstar is still alive and well today (along with my GT), after a change of tire, which I did last year after moving houses. Good thing the Odyssey Gryo cables are still good. I doubt I could still buy a replacement cable for that. :)
