Nice reminder of what people can do to cut their food bills and still live well. Well done. When I freeze carrots I cut some in chunks for stews, thinner slices as a side and julienne some for stir frys, etc.. Carrots are great for freezing.
@diplomeuk Mrs Cricket really likes being able to just grab some frozen carrots from the freezer. Carrots that are already clean and cut and ready to go into whatever dish she's putting together. I get extra hubby points for simplifying the meal preps.
@CrypticCRICKET Well done you! We just arrived "home" after four years in the U.K.. The home we leased had a significant kitchen garden and I'm now hooked. Whilst my U.S. friends are amused at my garden plans for next year (and it is true we don't have to be on a budget) I was shocked at the increase in food prices in the U.S., especially the veg. I'll be growing our own peas, beans, etc., this year, freezing, and spending my money on other things...and I'll be subscribing to your videos :)
Yes it is easy. Just like bags of frozen veggies from the supermarket. I just finished assembling a video not five minutes ago about freezing oniions for long term storage. No blanching involved. Pretty sure you can handle that too. Have a great day MIke!
