This is why I love the earlier seasons compared to the later ones. The friends talk like real people here, it's so natural, they're not spouting forced one liners and constantly overacting. They're still sitcom characters but the jokes come from the characters' casual humour and not bad writing :-)

Like nearly every TV pilot ever made, this episode was a bit boring -- only someone already into the show could really enjoy it. But I like how their first lines already establish their general character traits -- Monica's coolly uptight, Joey's forthright, Chandler's sarcastic, Phoebe's loopy, Ross is hurt and gloomy, and Rachel's extroverted and oblivious.

Fun fact: Jennifer is the only one to lip sing the shows title, which only appears in season 1. The scene at the fountain was shot on the WB backlot at 4am so fountain was pumping in warm water the entire time.

No it is 'want'. The joke is that Ross just said before that that: "I just want to get married again." Then Rachel runs in in her wedding dress, as though his wish came true. So Chandler says: "And I just want a million dollars!" He puts his hand out for it and nothing happens. It's not really funny anymore when you have to explain it though. :P
