its one thing to do something like that in the heat of the play, but during a tv time out when the goalie on one knee is rediculous, as a player you always know where the other players are on the ice and he tries to play it off like he didn't know thomas was there, those broadcasters are right, avery is a horrible actor

To Mkington: Take a look at 1:15. This is what I mean--you have a huge percentage of the fans that actually love this crap. Father's taking their kids to the game to experience grown men agitating another and promoting senseless aggression/violence. Avery is no hero, in fact he is a perfect example of what a hockey player shouldn't be at times. There is a reason the Red Wings, Kings, Rangers and Stars released him. Because he is more of a distraction then a hockey player. Granted he is back with the Rangers now, but he signed with Dallas to start the year and then made his comments about Elisha Cuthbert. He is a shit human being and doesn't belong in the NHL, and will keep being suspended if he keeps these things up.

Avery needs to be suspended for this, Avery knew exactly what he was doing and didn't even own up to it. After he hit Thomas in the back of the head he looked at him as if to say he didn't mean to do that. Avery is actually a good player when he leaves all the bullshit behind for things exactly like this. His role is very defined that he is an agitator and needs to figure out what the fine lines are, because he def. crossed a line here, or he needs to own up to his stupid shit

This took place during the media timeout. That's what makes this a situation where Avery should have been suspended. Avery knew Thomas was there and decided to do that anyway when Thomas shoved him, he didn't man up to what he did, and needed Sjostrom to come over and finish his dirty work. Even against the Devils the other night he had a chance to fight Clarkson and just got rope-a-doped. Avery is a pussy ass player!

ok we all know he shouldnt of done it but he didnt it to draw thomas into a penalty but failed because before he did it he looked to see if anyone was watching which a ref was and sjostrom went to averys defense as did montador of thomas and avery can fight he just doesnt to get under peoples skin which he does very well as you can tell

Taking cheap shots being a coward. What a loser. When are they ever going to get rid of him?? What else does he need to do?? He is a role model is he NOT?? the ironic thing about this is that on the NESN broadcast (the one in this video) in bettween periods, they had on the president of the NHLPA or something and he talked about the GM meetings a few weeks ago, and major issues brought up were the fighting, and purposeful blows to the head.... now, it may not have been hard, but it doesn't need to be, it was a stick to the head and he did it on purpose
