The reason of the life proof case is not so you can have a throwing , stomping, drowning, muddy time with it all the time constantly, its so you can go about your daily routine knowing that incase you drop it in the water or mud our it falls or it gets in snow... that it will be all right. Its not indestructible man
Okay, I really want to know what you're saying in this video, but after 5 minutes of NON STOP TALKING, all I found out was that the outer box looks different! I mean really... ever heard of "get to the point"?! You would talk about one thing, and talk about that same exact thing for the next 3 minutes when people get the idea after 5 seconds! I couldn't bare to finish watching this video. I'll just have to watch some other videos that get to the point.
@Jeff12productions I have opened and closed many times...with no issue...but on the same token once you put it on how many times are you really going to taking it off an on, do you think it will be over 50....
according to lifeproof "The LifeProof case has very precise latches and is not designed to be opened up frequently. The back of the case has a life of about 50 opens and closes so don't do this every day."
@VideoLuv101 it doesn't feel as rugged as say an Otterbox defender in terms of shock durability...but it does cover up all ports. for shock I would have to go with otterbox...but that again is why lifeproof is thinner. Dont get me wrong lifeproof can still take a beating and keep on ticking
I was going to Best Buy to buy this case and found this video. Thank You so much for this!! I knew right away that the one in Best Buy was the new 2nd gen case. Also great web site and lots of great info there. I will definitely keep you guys in mind whenever I need good info on tech products. Bravo
For a company that many have complained about customer service, they sure listened to customers when re-designing this 2nd gen case, and must be pretty responsive to get a new gen case out so quickly.
Thanks for the thorough reviews - definitely helped me decide whether $80 was worth the cost.
Also you can stop and start the recordings underwater using the volume buttons on iOS 5.x. And you forgot to cover the quality of videos/audio taken in and out of water. i.e audio gets muffled on recordings as soon as you take it out of water, how do you normalise the audio in that situation?
@ICEMAN7679 Does having the screen protector on the phone while it's in the lifeproof case weaken the seal in any way that your aware of, or reduce the screen sensitivity? because I would really like to keep an invisible shield on the phone, in case I have to temporarily remove it from the case.
The ridges on the side of the case are for snapping the phone and case into the LifeProof belt clips and mounts.

Any idea why some the 2nd gen cases have a charge port rubber seal that is YELLOW and some have a smaller oval like BLACK seal?

I here that there is a limited amount of times you can open and close the case. Does that mean that ill have to buy a new o ring every 50 times?

Hi. Even though it says it is shock proof, what is your experience with it?
Does the lifeproof fell too cheap to you?
Do you feel that it is actually going to fully protect your phone?

@bizzlekizzy you cannot, I would have thought the underwater recording audio hampering would have been known from my original video.
ICEMAN7679 3 months ago
Pretty good detailed analysis/review. Good Job. Looks like you got a screen protector on your iPhone?
bizzlekizzy 3 months ago
@bizzlekizzy That is correct, I do.
