The religious leaders at that time attempted to build a tower to heaven even when god told them to disperse across the land. They rebelled and attempted to build a tower to heaven. I do not believe that the US is mystery babylon, but not because I regard it well. It is a cespit of crime, political corruption, greed and mindless consumerism. But I hold that Babylon is likely the literal rebuilt Babylon or Rome, and that the time is not ripe as evil has not reached its terrible fullness.

But any sort of religion that speaks of a judgment, and contains strong dogma will be vehemently opposed and ultimately eliminated or driven far, far underground.
