He does not sound like a tough grizzled old soldier but some kind of dandified Nancy boy, who spends wars at home and he is indubitably no sea-dog but the sort of pasty landlubber I have always despised. @tubub I believe you are missing the point of his message, that war, even with the best of intentions, itself is immoral (for example, the Vietnamese murdering each other), and therefore a preemptive war is moreso, as there is no principle other than the sacrifice of others for the sake of ourselves. Also, when we entered into Vietnam, it was not for altruistic means such as saving lives (our policies of war in Vietnam prove this) but to prevent the spread of communism (the bogeyman) and profit.

I disagree. Zinn tries to examine the concept of conflict from outside the box of a war-fueled economy. After all ... What is the purpose of conflict if the aim is not resolution? The perpetuation of war; that's what.

Zinn is one of great distorters of history alive today. Check everything he says, you will find out his sources are not credible. He is anti American and a liar.
