She also plays a lot of tunes out of the Ontario fiddle tradition--and the French Canadian tradition as well. And she is a fine jazz player to boot. Very versatile.
What a solid musician. Her bluesy sliding tones and "swinging" playing sound so similar to Appalachian old-time and bluegrass that I wouldn't have guessed she is a Canadian fiddler. I wonders if she models her playing on American styles more than the Ontario fiddle tradition of her home province?
The Cook Shack has world class entertainment like the April Verch Band in the most wonderful place.
