before in the 90s i think, the didn't used to have the south train lines, it it only went down to daly city, then they made colma as their new station for the first time, i remember when it was being built when i was young
I wonder where trains get their electricity from. Does it require the train to also get electricity from the tracks or does it just take the tracks to send electricity to the electric motor underneath the train. How does it send electricity to run the train? Does electricity flow throughout the tracks? Can you tap into free electricity from the tracks? How dangerous are the tracks?
@heartlessvietboy Most urban rail systems utilize a 'third rail' to distribute electricity to the trains. Each car of the train usually has 2 prongs that protrude from the underside that touch the third rail and that's where they draw their power from.
Because nobody Exposed the Train, in our mind are the wheels rolling. There's an Electric Motor underneath the Train isn't there? THAT's what's rolling the train!

I HAVE NEVER TAKEN BART AND I NEED TO HAVE A QUESTION ANSWERED.
Here's my question:
Do I have to pay to transfer to another train???
TaffyAlpha 10 months ago
@TaffyAlpha nope
theshugchannel 10 months ago
@TaffyAlpha No. You don't have to pay to transfer to another train. You only pay when you enter and exit the system.

BART sucks.
Dirty seats, dirty carpets, urine and shit on everything.
It is the nastiest and most expensive public transit system I have ever been on.

Californians **Write your local Congressional Reps/Senators**
DEFUND BART 2014 Plan.
Stop Bart Board of Directors plan to remove 80% to 90% of current seating on BART trains.
Tell the BART Board:
Let's All Be Seated....All of us.
