well i have this pedal and its great, i was given it for free, and tbh it looks very confusing but if you just mess about with it a bit its quite simple to work out
Hey man, i really need to get to the bottom of this. Im going to buy this soon, if i plug it in into my amp. ( Peavy ) will it sound awsome? would you still get the affects and stuff? what do you got yours connected too?
can anyone tell me why mine wont fire up please got a flashing led just above the edit in the center ? but it just dont go hardly ever used it so it has not been abused
@Motopsycho96 - No. You need a head and cabinet. You can also buy combo and then connect zoom to it. The only way to play Zoom loud without an amp is to conect it to the speakers through a mixer and use settings for direct recording. It works fine that way ;)
@voltaspeeder17 Doesn't the cabinet work like a Speaker? I was told by a guy that works in a music shop (axcess) that it would work depending on the size of the cabinet
@Motopsycho96 - You need to bring the power to the cabinet agree? How would you do this without an amplifier? Zoom isnt strong enough (12V is nothing compares to 230). So, you need head + cabinet or a speaker, which is powered itself :)
@ivncdo0809 - Thats like "I'm buying Citroen C1, BMW M6 and Audi A8 :) You cannot compare a 160eur thing with 450eur machines or even more expensive stuff. For it's price, Zoom G2.1u is a GREAT multiefect. It has lots of good simulation, wah pedal and direct USB recording which is really good deal. But if you have more money go with POD XT live. It's better on amp simulations than GT-10, but Boss have more effects and crazy stuff. Depends of what do you want ;)
@voltaspeeder17 :D what an evil comparison :D !! anyway the pod xt live is 260euro at dv147 . com i see you're from europe, you're right i did the question in a wrong way, i meant which brand would be better because it's my first multieffects board because sincerely i'm tired enough of my messy pedals, i don't think i won't get the boss gt-10 it's very expensive so i decided to go with the line6 pod xt live, want to know; do these multieffects pedal are easy to use?,
@ivncdo0809 - Hehe, i just had to say it ;) I think Pod XT live is better, sounds are probably even, but it has so much more extra stuff that it's really not an answer what to buy. What concerns functionality and using machines i cannot say whats easier, because i've never had Pod, but i think none of them are hard to use. Just read manual which comes with it, it's not a rocket science ;)
I have that thing but I dont know how to setup the wahwah sound :( So you get the same effects as a whammybar but you control it digitally with the pedal. Anyone knows? BucketHead does that much :P
Zoom G2.1u is a beautiful pedal i used my cousins and I LOVED it nice sound and everything. sustain quality and a nice price. Its a recomended Buy from a guitar player to another!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so any players reading this you will now know to buy this pedal.
Dude, you don't know what you're talking about. If i didn't know how to set up this machine good few years ago, that doesn't mean, that this machine sucks. For it's price, it's a great deal and btw. most of this video was recorded by a CAMERA, also the sound. As i promised, i will do also part 3, and then i'll show all this machine can do.
@lemez100 correct if you're lazy of pressed for time. you play with it, granted a lot, you can get some amazing sounds out of it. My biggest compliant is that all the distortions are so high in gain they're almost tasteless. Its hard to get something with a nice crunchy distortion. its either not there or its sucking your brains out with fuzz.
personally i dont like this pedal, if you have an amp that aslo has different sounds programmed on it, like my roland 30x cube, the sound both mixes and it sounds horrible. on the otherhand my mate uses the zoom for his band recordings and they sound just as good as a studio recording :P
Even if you have a bad amplifier, you can get clean, crounch and distortion from this pedal. You can get almost every sound you want - from jazz tone to metal
which amplifier do you use? I also have this effect but it doesn't sound very good on my amp. perhaps it is too small :D or it could be that I don't know how to use the effect yet:) So I am asking to exclude one of those options =)
I used recording settings on my zoom and recorded sound directly into my soundcard. For using it with your amp, you have to set Extra EQ to Et not to Cb. Cb is for direct recording. I hope i helped you
dude last week i gotta zoom g2 . i liked it very much. i made my own patches and tryin stuffs its cool. can u post some patches for funky kinda guitarin like james brown stuff
me too only play metallica stuff in my zoom g2. but i was tryin to make a patch for funk style but the jerks doesnt sound good ..anyways thanks for the reply man.hope ya keep up the good work.
Nice vid and nice playing 2. I have the older zoom 505 and probably will get this one. Only one question. The 505 has the patches stored in 6 banks and you can quickly switch between the banks so you if you want to go from patch 12 to 31 you just swich the bank. How does that go with the G2.1. Do you just have to click your way through them?
You have 8 banks, 4 for your own patches and 4 with presets. Every bank have 10 sounds. You can switch between the banks with 2 buttons. If you have A1 sound (first sound in A bank) you can change to B1 (first sound in B bank) with just one button.
You can also change the sounds with large buttons, but this will change only from A1 to A2, that mean one sound up or down.
Some multiefect like Boss GT-6, 8, Pod and higher price Zooms have 4 buttons to change between sounds, which is great!
This is the ending of my post, because i ran out of space in previous one:
If you need to change lots of sound in small time, get a multiefect with at least 3 buttons, but such devices are a lot more expensive.
I only need a few distorts, few cleand and maybe crounch, so for me it's enough :) I had GT-8 and i compared quality of sound with Zoom G2.1. They are almost the same - i actually prefer G2.1 upon GT-8, which is 3 times more expensive.
Of course man :) First you have a good distortion, then you add a bit chorus and then lots of delay if you want. In case, you can add 3 different effect at the same time to your sound.
wiv this pedal can u switch different effects on and off for example can u be playing and then turn the delay on and off then the distortion etc... so that u dnt have to bend down and chance the effects
Uh... I have this pedal actually, and I like it's versatility, but I can't get a tone even CLOSE to as good as what you got on your first example. Can you tell me what settings you used for the 1st example, and what amp you're running it through (or if you're using Cubase LE). I run my pedal to a Roland Cube 30 watt amp, so just wondering if the cube's responsibe for the shitty distortion, or my settings are screwed up... My distortion sounds more like a "buzz" than distortion...
You mean, which offers more for the money you pay for it? Well, thats hard to tell, because both are great multieffect, so it depends of what you need? If you need something for home use, buy G2.1u, but if you need a machine for gigs, recording, which has lots of functions, then buy G9.2tt.
Well, both have the same sound procesor, so they both sound the same if you use the same parameters and amp simulation. But G9 has more amp simulations, more effects and more functions. Dude, try to type in youtube: Zoom G2.1u and sellect Dimebag Darrell 's tone video. If that tone is good enough for you, then G2.1u is the right machine for you. And it's cheap.
Well dude, try to watch part 2. I thinks it's a lot better if you want to hear lots of good sounds. I didn't present other functions of this pedal except sounds, but i'm going to do that in part 3.
hey man i was the guy talking to you a while ago about that awesome guitar hehe. anyway, just got the pedal for my Bday and its like awesome :D. i was wondering if you could tell me how to get an awesome metallica type tone please. (or anything good for metal :D:D). oh another problem i have had is that sometimes when i have some of the different amp modelling things like the extreem distortion and the metal zone one sometimes it sounds a little bit like i have left my...
I know digitech, and i'm sure this zoom is better pedal, because of great sound posibilities, wah pedal and for such pedal, great price. I know boss me-50 and it doesn't sound very good to me, i prefer zoom pedals, which are cheaper and offer more for the price.
hey, guys, i bought my ZOOM G2.1u about a year ago, i knew i had the Cubase LE disc, but know im actaully using it, but write when you go to dowload it, it says "ENTER SERIAL NUMBER", and i've looked on the disc and dont know what to do?
I dont know where that is or the box, and i dont have the English manual, just all the other 5 that are other languages, lol, and i tried lik everything
Hello mate ! I like the way you presented the G2.1u, I would use it alot more than I already do lol, but when I look at patches, they're not that accurate. Could you send me a link to a site or something like that? Hope to find a "Can't Stop" Patch from RHCP =) If you could help that would be great! Nice playing too btw ;)
Hey man, I don't want to bug you for patches, but I have been trying hard to get my 2.1u to sound like the 1957RR Marshall and I think you did it about perfect with your Crazy Train patch. Any chance you would want to share that?
hi men hey i wanna buy this machine but i have a a question this machine have whammy for example i wanna paly like a stone solo but this solo need a whammy wih this pedal i can make this solo please answer me or any person can answer if all of you know thanks
hey u know the full settings tunes for metallicas justice for all master of puppets and black album? or at least only the black album, theres also the one u played at 4:53, i have the same pedal but G2 only, i cant find those 3 album tunes sounds, help plz if u can thx, \m/

How are the reverb and delay? Could I get a shoegazey sound out of it?
I don't take you for a guy who would be into shoegaze, so I guess that I may not get the answer here, but it's worth a try.
While I'm on the topic of Shoegaze, let me recommend a band called Alcest, that combines shoegaze and black metal.

Obelix5150 2 years ago 7
actually i recently run my pedal to a roland cube amp and its sound amazing..
just try making some tweaks im sure you will find it..

Zoom G9.2tt or this, the G2.1u?
Luffirefly 2 years ago 12
You mean, which offers more for the money you pay for it? Well, thats hard to tell, because both are great multieffect, so it depends of what you need? If you need something for home use, buy G2.1u, but if you need a machine for gigs, recording, which has lots of functions, then buy G9.2tt.
voltaspeeder17 2 years ago
Hmm.. which do you think sounds better?
I have no idea which to get.
Luffirefly 2 years ago 12
Well, both have the same sound procesor, so they both sound the same if you use the same parameters and amp simulation. But G9 has more amp simulations, more effects and more functions. Dude, try to type in youtube: Zoom G2.1u and sellect Dimebag Darrell 's tone video. If that tone is good enough for you, then G2.1u is the right machine for you. And it's cheap.
voltaspeeder17 2 years ago
the g2.1u has pretty much all the functions you need...
it's a budget pedal for guitarists...
yet, it delivers the same sound quality...
evlblue 2 years ago 11
Well dude, try to watch part 2. I thinks it's a lot better if you want to hear lots of good sounds. I didn't present other functions of this pedal except sounds, but i'm going to do that in part 3.

i play blues and rock .i am between boss me-20 ,digitech rp-350 and Zoom G2.1u ...which to choose and why please help thanks
matjo93 2 years ago 8
I know digitech, and i'm sure this zoom is better pedal, because of great sound posibilities, wah pedal and for such pedal, great price. I know boss me-50 and it doesn't sound very good to me, i prefer zoom pedals, which are cheaper and offer more for the price.
voltaspeeder17 2 years ago
thanks
matjo93 2 years ago 8
hey, guys, i bought my ZOOM G2.1u about a year ago, i knew i had the Cubase LE disc, but know im actaully using it, but write when you go to dowload it, it says "ENTER SERIAL NUMBER", and i've looked on the disc and dont know what to do?
choirhero 2 years ago
Dude, the serial number should be there something. Maybe on the back of the disk envelope.
voltaspeeder17 2 years ago
I dont know where that is or the box, and i dont have the English manual, just all the other 5 that are other languages, lol, and i tried lik everything
choirhero 2 years ago
Well, where did you find yours?
choirhero 2 years ago 9
Serial number is on the box. It writes: Serial No. I think this is it :)
voltaspeeder17 2 years ago

musiclord17 2 years ago 2
First, read your zoom manual, where it writes all about that, then if you still don't understand, ask me again :)
voltaspeeder17 2 years ago

voltaspeeder17 2 years ago
Hello mate ! I like the way you presented the G2.1u, I would use it alot more than I already do lol, but when I look at patches, they're not that accurate. Could you send me a link to a site or something like that? Hope to find a "Can't Stop" Patch from RHCP =) If you could help that would be great! Nice playing too btw ;)
lllPliskin250lll 2 years ago 7
Hey man, I don't want to bug you for patches, but I have been trying hard to get my 2.1u to sound like the 1957RR Marshall and I think you did it about perfect with your Crazy Train patch. Any chance you would want to share that?
Do you post your patches online anywhere?

ithirst4blood 2 years ago 8
