No, he was a boy who got AIDS through no fault of his own in the 1980s. He was a hemophiliac, so he had to have regular transfusions of a type blood product that helps with clotting. At some point he got some infected with AIDS and contracted the disease himself. The school board where he lived banned him from school because they were stupid dicks and then there was a long court battle so he could return to school. It garnered national media attention and a lot of celebrities supported him.
