@Colgruv confused? it's not that difficult to understand. We don't force women to shower with men. Why? because we accept that it's uncomfortable to be naked around someone who may be sexually attracted to you. A basic human right we all deserve to have.
The same right applies to men - to shower without someone some man (or woman) staring at them. BTW, this would be a problem for gays as well - even a gay guy may not be comfortable showering with another gay where there may be sexual tension.

If you said YES - then in that case, the army wouldn't need separate showers for men and women. There are strict laws for separation of men and women, so these should be cancelled.

Just be aware that you are already getting MORE rights than anyone else at the expense of others' rights, but that's probably ok if there is no other option. We'll call it a compromise.
Combat however is an intense situation. We simply don't have the means to accommodate gays in these extreme conditions, without trampling the basic human rights of other soldiers.

Just like if you have a unit of 20 guys, and a woman wants to join, she may not be able to depending on logistics. Does this violate women rights? no. Or someone too short or tall or fat or skinny may not be able to join a combat unit, and will just have to find a different job. This isn't discrimination.

Just because you weren't born that way, doesn't mean others weren't. If someone were born with a mental defect that didn't manifest until several years after birth, would you call THAT a choice?
It could be either of two things: 1. The person was gay all along but was denying their sexuality. What is successful, anyway? They may have just been very good friends with their significant other but felt no sexual attraction to them.
2. The person is attracted to members of either sex but is not attracted to members of the opposite sex currently. Sexuality is fluid, believe it or not, but it still is not something you choose.

@Jwb52z Equality already exists. What the 'agenda' consists of is a demand for recognition. No state denies an individual the ability to marry on the basis of their sexual preference. The conditions and restrictions on marriage apply equally regardless of sexual preference.
Marriage exists as a civil institution to further a societal interest. Same sex couples cannot further that interest. There is no reason they should be recognized as though they can.

@Colgruv It's not practical to not let you use the shower, so we have no choice in the matter. But it IS segregated for a reason. Just be aware that you are already getting MORE rights than anyone else at the expense of others' rights, but that's probably ok if there is no other option. We'll call it a compromise.
Combat however is an intense situation. We simply don't have the means to accommodate gays in these extreme conditions, without trampling the basic human rights of other soldiers.

It could be either of two things: 1. The person was gay all along but was denying their sexuality. What is successful, anyway? They may have just been very good friends with their significant other but felt no sexual attraction to them.
2. The person is attracted to members of either sex but is not attracted to members of the opposite sex currently. Sexuality is fluid, believe it or not, but it still is not something you choose.
