Cherubino is a very young and attractive young man in the story, always sung by a woman. But I do find it rather difficult to imagine Cecilia as a man, even one whom Figaro calls a "farfallone amoroso", an amorous little butterfly !

@portopalleddu Grazie Signorina! I thought it was voce but being that "Bella" is the feminine I thought the second word should also end in A. I'm just learning Italian...everything I do know comes from singing opera even though my father's mother came from Naples to America in 1912. (year the Titanic sank). My grandma and dad spoke Italian all the time but with the Neapolitain dialect so alot of words that started with a T sounded like a D etc... ha ha ha. Crazy Brooklyn Italians!!! :)

A lot of people with ears and brains and who are not fooled by OMNIPOTENT PROMOTION which is nowadays a substitute of real GREATNESS hear ugliness in Bartoli's singing, but the majority prefer not to comment and not to express their honest opinion not to deal with her crazy fans, and not "to be eaten alive" by them for telling the truth:-). But somebody has to be braver and call a spade a spade: to call UGLINESS UGLINESS and not beauty...

This is my all time fave aria by Mozart. I one day hope I get to play Cherubino!! I'm a Mezzo Soprano and have sung this in recital but never in the full opera. I love Cecilia Bartoli even tho sometimes she over does it with the weird faces. ha ha. Who cares just listen to that Bella Voca!!!!!
