Great trick but you can't really send it thru email. It attaches as an .exe file which gmail doesn't allow and also, the name of the file becomes "shutdown" which kinda takes away the surprise factor. Any way to send it as a link?

you can make it logoff or restart to. intead of "shutdown -s" for logoff you do "shutdown -l" and for restart you do "shutdown -r"

If it was a pop up in your internet browser, it was just a pop up OR you may have malware which is an advertising virus. both are easy to get rid of.

@dhalilama24 No, just close it straightaway. Sometimes the so-called "scans" actually give you a virus. Just scan your computer after you get one just to make sure you don't have any malware. Mostly, they are just for persuading you to buy their product. Use Google Chrome, it is fast and has a built-in malware/spyware/virus detector.
