@RocketRaccoon99 nope. Unfortunately it's not fully compatible with the Genesis 2 so you would have to either import the Master System II Converter (it's a different model designed to work with the model 2) for the model 2, buy a model 1 and then the power base converter, or buy a master system.

I've heard of a couple people who have modded the model 3 to work with it, but nope, as far as i know, out of the box, the model 1 is really the only one that lets you play it without importing anything or buying anything but the power base converter. Another thing you might want to keep in mind is that F-16 Fighting Falcon on Sega Card is not compatible with any power base converter

1 Can the Converteritself also use standart genesis games so you don't have to take it off your genesis? (just asking)

2 And is you are playing a master system game on it with a regular genesis controller, does the startbutton on that controller work too? Or do you still have to walk to your console to pause the game?

@TheMeleeMaster21 1) Master System cartridges and Genesis cartridges have different shapes, so you'd have to remove the power base converter if you wanted to play a Genesis game

2) It looks like there's a pause button on the converter, so you could press that, but I don't know if the remote's start button will work.

The Genesis has the same hardware as the Master System plus improvements. Therefore, the PBC is nothing but a cartridge slot size changer. The cards were intended to be "cool" for kids to trade games... it was not well-recieved to say the least. And one game was NOT able to play on the PBC.

i love how well the power base converter integrates into the original model genesis. it just looks right, no extraneous wires or power supplies needed and it flows with the lines of the genesis so well. it doesn't even look like a separate peripheral, it looks like it's a PART OF the genesis.

if only the two genesis add-ons sega made after the power base converter looked as cool (and had more than a dozen decent games between the both of em lol).

yes, it works but the problem is that it won't fit physically.. i had a master system converter and a genesis 2 and i had to cut off the plastic handle on the back of the converter for it to fit into the genesis 2, worked perfectly.. but the converter looked kinda bad cosmetically afterwards.

I don't want more consoles on the market right now, and I think if people understood that having to program for 3+ different console languages for cross platform releases becomes unprofitable so the systems with weakest tech specs, lowest sales, or more difficult programming languages get squeezed out of releases. New consoles are very vulnerable to lax libraries unless they secure expensive exclusive contracts which cause games from those makers to not be released on current systems.

Also being that a Wii and 360 are like $200 base model, and PS3 is $300 it's about $700 to cover your bases now, you wanted to add another $200+ console? then there is the mess they make between wall warts, controllers, shelf space ect. Retail stores have to find room for it and shrink other console space to.
