Crosby and Malkin are both awesome players and theyre both still young I think over the next couple years both of them are gonna develope into legends. Its hard to really call one better than the other cause the games that Crosby isnt scoring Geno is and when Geno isnt scoring Crosby is and both of them are gonna keep amazing people and its awesome that we got 2 players on the pens that can generate 100 point seasons. This year Malkin is better but I think its gonna go back and fourth every year

I agree. Roy is the better player simply because of the time periods. Still, Malkin's goal is outstanding against an oustanding goalie.

And if you ask me, Malkin is a more well rounded player than Crosby. Doesn't turn the puck over nearly as much, better defensive player, slightly better puck handling skills, better goal scorer, and equally as good puck distributor. The main thing that seperates the two is the blind turnovers Crosby does time after time.

yea its Roy. What people fail to realize is both played in different eras. Roy played in an era for 5 or 6 years where they wore next to nothing for pads, and in an era where the number of goals scored in a game was much higher. He also played in an era without the neutral zone trap. The fact that Brodeur played in games where he was only seeing 15 shots a game as opposed to the 45 Roy was seeing in earlier years plays a big part in the argument.

Marty also had a stellar D made up of Neidermeyer & Stevens In addition to the neutral zone trap. Brodeur doesnt have a record of single handedly carrying teams to a Stanley Cups. Roy carried a mediocre 93 Habs team on his back to a Stanley Cup win. That Habs squad had absolutely no business winning a cup. Brodeur has shown time and time again that with mediocre teams he chokes. He also has no COnn Smythes. Roy has 3. So he wasnt even the best player on his team when they won their cups.

Brodeur has a better save percentage than Roy so Brodeur can handle poor defense. The Devils don't have a strong offense and thats why Brodeur "chokes" when there's a mediocre team because they only score one goal a game in the playoffs. Even w/out Stevens and Neidermeyer he pulled off a 48 win season in 07 and Clemmensen only won one more. Brodeur also gets no fair treatment from the league. Look at that goal with .2 seconds left; that was goaltender interference but they wanted end the game.

He faced far less shots and also never played in the era Roy did in the beginning of his career when there were smaller pads, no neutral zone trap, and higher scoring games. WIns mean jack shit when you dont get a cup to show for it. even when they did get them Marty wasnt the best player on the Devils.

Please. Have you looked at the Penguins' injury situation? It's been pretty bad all season. Both teams have been banged up and missing key players for extended periods. Gonchar may not be as important as Brodeur is to the Devils, but there's a big hole in the Pens roster without him.
