It's a fascinating new take on the battle in so many ways. It should certainly spark a re-evaluation of the status of Buchanen as one of our greatest presidents for having the foresight to map out he battlefields beforehand and in doing so also pre-determining the outcome of the war beforehand. Anyone familiar with the Gettysburgh battlefield knows that there are many more Union battlefield monuments so with the additional protection of those monuments for cover the Union had to win the battle.
Have you actually heard people asking about the lack of bullets holes in the monuments? Only asking cos I've overhear some pretty silly stuff and I wouldn't put it past someone to do it.
Rather ironic that this was for class at Gettysburg college. Most of the numbskulls who attend that pipsqeek instituation not only don't care about the battlefield, they are responsible for most of the vandalism of the monuments that goes on there.
This was a poor attempt at historical sattire. If you feel that the civil war was funny, You would really crackup with the gas chambers at Auswich, or maybe you could do a skit on Joanstown or Wako ?? Sorry I didnt see the humor .
Just for future reference, my great-grand uncle died at Gettysburg. This is not a satire of the men who died on that field, but rather the general lack of knowledge on history and thereby the general gullibility of many members of the public vis-a-vis the crucial facts of the situations.
Also for future reference, when going troll-ing, please spell Auschwitz, Jonestown and Waco correctly. Doing otherwise in a non-satirical setting is an historical disservice, and discredits your criticisms.
this is funny. you'd be surprisedhow many people ask "Why did theyfight all these battles on National Parks" Me and my guides always tell them that Buchannan set them aside and placed the monuments to tell the troops where to go. Great minds think alike I guess.
Im not a civil war buff...but I too love the movie, Gettysburg. I also like Gods and General. My husband is a Huge Civil War buff. And with him telling me about the battles...I grow to learn more about them...and I've started reading his civil war books. Also, my husband recreates the battle with his 15mm miniatures. Boy...he got hobbies he likes to do.
Thank you for setting the record straight on Bustah Kilrain. As a Mainer, it warms my heart to see the memory of this fine American hero honored at last.
("Each monument has a handy set of flank markers..."
I laughed so hard at that I had to pause the video.)
A must see! This video's premise is that our forfathers anticipated the Civil War and laid out the battlefields and mnuments IN ADVANCE! For example: "In fact, they used the monuments for cover...and as a sniper's nest!" A Monty Python, divergent, original mind thought this one up and, unlike so many today who repress their creative side on fear of being politically incorrect, had the guts to produce it.

The basic premesis is interesting; however, your attempt at humor is generally sophmoric. Next time hire a ghost writer.
